Google My Business Multiple Listing
-
Can a specialist doctor who operates out of several locations have multiple GMB listings? She operates under her company brand name if that makes a difference. Thank you community!
-
Hi Crystal,
No, the purpose of building the landing pages would be to gain an organic presence, not a local pack presence. Without a local business listing in these other locations, she's not going to be included in the local packs, and from your description, she's not eligible for these other listings. So, the goal of creating content surrounding her affiliation with other institutions in other locations would be organic rankings for these topics.
-
Thank you Miriam,
Will building the local landing pages help her rank higher in the local pack for searches in those areas?
Thank you, Crystal
-
Hi Crystal,
You're welcome, and from the additional details you've provided, I would recommend:
-
Just one GMB listing at her central location with her single phone number
-
Build content on the website and socially around her privileges at other clinics
Hope this helps!

Hi Miriam,
Thanks for asking!
Yes that is correct, she has one owned clinic and the others are multi-doctor clinics that are privately owned by others. She sees patients at all three clinics.
I also just realised that she doesn't have phone numbers at the other two clinics. Her secretary works at her own clinic and all patients make appointments through her secretary for all locations.
Does this make it clearer?
Thank you Miriam, Crystal

Hi Crystal,
I might need a bit more info on this to offer best guidance. Am I understanding this correctly:
-
Your client is Dr. Jones.
-
Dr. Jones has her own office at 123 Main St.
-
Dr. Jones does not own any other offices, but she sees patients at the local hospital and at the local health care clinic, as well as seeing them at her office.
-
You want to know if Dr. Jones is then eligible for 3 Google My Business listings since she sees patients at 3 locations, one of which she owns, and two of which she doesn't.
Is this the scenario, or would you describe it differently?
-
-
Yeah definitely you can have as many locations as you want you will of course have to verify each one of those addresses with the postcard verification and confirm the code upon receiving it. I would certainly maintain consistency with the business name, using street names at the end to decipher between them.
-
Hello there,
Of course, you can, there are many businesses that add their branches into GMB.

Google My Business - Service Area - Use Zip Codes or City Names?
Google allows you to choose up to 20 locations as service areas, and you can choose based on cities, counties, or zip codes. I'm trying to determine if zip codes, cities, or counties are better to select for our GMB profiles. We are located in the US. I am thinking it's best to use all 20 areas allowed on a profile as long as they are relevant, generally giving Google all the info they will let you provide is best. I also am leaning toward using zip codes because it also includes the city when you choose by zip code. For example: Entered the zip code 21009 and the service area selection provided was: Abingdon, MD 21009, USA Entering the city/state returns a selection of Abingdon, MD, USA I also think it may have to do with how people search and find your business as well? Does anyone have experience with this? Best practices? My google searching has not turned up any reliable info.

Help with Google+ business name rules
I'm marketing a franchise gym business that has multiple locations within the same city. For the business name, I used to have it set as "Business Name" + City + Tagline. For example: "Ultimate Workout South Calgary Gym and Bootcamps". and "Ultimate Workout North Calgary Gym and Bootcamps". To comply with the google business naming rules I've updated all the listing to just business name. The problem is, now the local search results for my gym locations are confusing. Half the address is cut off in the results, the city is not displayed at all. And sometimes results from a neighbouring city are shown. Anyone have an idea on how to implement a strategy where people at a quick glance understand which location is best for them?

Google My Business listing - listed at CLOSED (how do I open)
Good afternoon Mozzers, I hope you can help me. I have a business listing, which is listed as being "PERMANENTLY CLOSED". In fact the business is OPEN it has just changed business name. I have ownership of the listing. I have "reported an issue" to Google and asked them to list as open, however how long will this take? Is there anything I can do to fast track this and limit the business impact? Any help welcomed, Ben

Clients are not showing up on Google Places (Maps)
Dear Esteemed Mozzers, I am having trouble with a few clients not showing up on the map for Google Maps (Places). What's interesting is that for one of my clients, a number of her competitors (some of them in the same office building) appear on the maps, however, my client does not. Nevertheless, this client is on G+, uses Yext, Yelp advertising, PPC with Google, etc. and as far as I'm concerned, has signed up for every other 'local' listing service of value. With that, I'm hoping you guys may be able to point me in the right direction to get my clients back on track and showing up on the Google Maps (Places) listings. Thank you all in advance for reading this, I look forward to your responses!

How To Change Image Used In Business Knowledge Graph...
How can one change the image that Google shows in a business' knowledge graph in the SERPs? And the image I am referring to is the one that typically appears to the left of the map within the knowledge graph box, above the business' name. The current image that is being used in my client's case is an image that was uploaded in their Google+ My Business profile, but there doesn't appear to be any particular reason why that one was chosen (it wasn't the first or last image uploaded, nor is it selected as the profile picture). As user-interaction increasingly becomes important in rankings, I would like to change this to something more attractive. Thank you for any help and guidance!

Opt out from certain Google properties - what's the downside?
Hi Moz Community! I manage a site where we want to have a support phone number for certain cases, but not for it to be front and centre for all our customers. At the moment, most of our unwanted call volume comes through the number showing up in SERPs due. We haven't included it in any of our listings, but it seems that Google has included it due to its presence on our site. We are now considering using the "Opt out from certain Google properties" tool on Google Webmasters but are concerned that by not playing by Google's rules that we may face some sort of penalty. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/opt-out Does anyone have any experience of using this tool or any thoughts on potential risks to our search rankings? Thank you!

Hello everyone, If I have pending google places listing, and I added my websites robot.text to block search engines. Will I still get accepted in Google Place? The reason is. We want to block the Google Places listings from search, and only show up on the google places listings. As we have to have a similar website with more explicit content we want to rank on the search results. www.mywebsitetor.com (google places) (PG)
