Menu & Sub menu structure - section specific sub menu?
-
Hi,
At present I have a set of regions across the nav bar with drop downs for towns within these regions. This totals about 60 links.
This set up is pretty much site wide and the site ranks well for many of these towns. However, this is quite a lot of links per page (without the page specific/content links) and I am wondering about having just a horizontal sub menu of towns appear below the nav bar only specific to the selected region.
Do you think cutting down the number of menu links will be beneficial to the content page's ranking.
Sorry if that isn't very clear, can't think of a better way of putting it.
TIA,
Chris -
Depending on your PageRank it's advisable to have less than 100 links per page.
Cutting down on the amount of links you have per page increases the amount of "link juice" given to each link.
However it sounds like what you're asking is more of a usability issue more than an SEO one.
I would have to see an example of a page you're talking about to give a more precise answer.

Pagination & View all option on Ecommerce site
Hi I want to add a view all option to our category pages as recommended by Google and to make it easier for the customer. I'm not sure how long this will take our developer, but is this an action that is worth doing from an SEO point of view? Will it add value? For me it will have value, but in terms of SEO actions should it be one I prioritise? I have issues with our pagination and think this would be the quickest way to solve it - http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches Any help appreciated 🙂

Structural data in google webmaster tools
Hey, During the year I have done everything in my power to please Google with my website. Instead of building links towards the page I have focused on content, content and content. In addition I have worked with https and page speed. Today my site is faster than 98% of all tested sites in Pingdom tools and have 94/83 in Google insights. Of course we have had to build some links as well, perhaps 50 links in 8 months. At the same time we have built 700 pages of text. The total amount of links build is 180 over 20 months. On Thursday last week it looks like the site was penalized by Google. I still believe that we can do something about it and get the site back on track again. Hence we have been looking at technical things on the site, if there is anything Google don't like. One thing that I have found is structural data. For some reason this has dropped from 875 a month ago to 3 today. I have no clue why. Does anyone know how structural data works and what can have caused this problem. Would it be possible that we in our attempt to optimize the site might have done something that may affect the structural data? http://imgur.com/a/vurB1 In that case, what affect might this drop in structural data mean for SEO. Could that be a reason for the total drop in ranking? (we have basically been wiped on all our keywords) What I can see in Google webmaster tool about 975 pages are still indexed in Google which has been stable for a long time. Does anyone know more about structural data and what I can do about this?

Multilingual SEO subdirectories structure
Hi, I have to optimize a domain for Google for 3 languages (.com with subdirectories)(Dutch, German and English) content is only served on domain.com/nl, .com/de and .com/en NO CONTENT is served on domain.com.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | bmcinternetmarketing
How do I exclude domain.com from getting in Google? Because there is no content on the top level only on subdirectories. Is there a rule we have to add to htaccess? Or Robots.txt by disallow all and next lines allow /nl, allow /de and allow /en? Thanks a lot! Kind regards, Alain Nijholt0 -
Help needed for a 53 Page Internal Website Structure & Internal Linking
Hey all... I'm designing the structure for a website that has 53 pages. Can you take a look at the attached diagram and see if the website structure is ok? On the attached diagram I have numbered the pages from 1 to 53, with 1 being the most important home page - 2,3,4,5, being the next 4 important pages - 6,7,8... 15,16,17 being the 3rd set of important pages, and 18,19,20..... 51,52,53 being the last set of pages which are the easiest to rank. I have two questions: Is the website structure for this correct? I have made sure that all pages on the website are reachable. Considering the home page, and page number 2,3,4,5 are the most important pages - I am linking out to these pages from the the last set of pages (18,29,20...51,52,53). There are 36 pages in the last set - and out of this 36, from 24 of them I am linking back to home page and page number 2,3,4,5. The remaining 8 pages of the 36 will link back to pages 6,7,8...15,16,17. In total the most importnat page will have the following number of internal incoming links: Home Page : 25 Pages 2,3,4,5 : 25 Pages 6,7,8...15,16,17 : 4 Pages 18,19,20...51,52,53 : 1 Is this ok considering home page, and pages 2,3,4,5 are the most important? Or do you think I should divide and give more internal links to the other pages also? If you can share any inputs or suggestions to how I can improve this it will greatly help me. Also if you know any references for good guides to internal linking of websites greater that 50 pages please share them in the answers. Thank you all! Understanding Canocalization, domain structure, redirects
Hey guys, My background is more in marketing aspect of SEO and I'm afraid my technical knowledge is not where it should be. I'm confused about how to find out whether a site is splitting link juice by having to many domains(?) that are not redirected properly. Am I asking that right? How do you figure that out? And, once you know, do you just go to the ones that are not redirecting and add a 301? Where is the best place to add a 301? I know there's a difference in the eyes of the search engines between, say, example.com and www.example.com and probably other forms, correct? I'm not a programmer or IT specialist, I'm a marketing consultant, but I feel like I'm really missing it when it comes to understanding all this stuff (looking at HTTP headers, using GWT, reading source code, etc) and am not sure the best way to learn it effectively so I can be sure I'm not missing something when consulting with clients. Help? Please? Thanks, David

Google Listing & Description Categories Question
How do you set up a website or home page to get the individual listing below the description text. For example with the SEO moz listing there are many of the categories listed below the description. Such as SEO Blog, SEO tools ... Is there a way to add this to a home page so good will pick it up this way? I attached a screen shot of what I am talking about because I think I am likely using the wrong terminology. Npcpu.png
