Evolution of rankings over the course of time
-
Hello,
Has anyone got experience on how rankings behave to climb all the way to the top once your do a redirect and change the design and content of your page entirely ?
-
Thank you for the information.

I tend to see bigger jumps prior to page 1 and then once on page one it can be slow moving sometimes gaining and losing a few places as it moves up. In the earlier stages you can see several movements in a month often weekly (hence Google Search Console having 7 day filters) but again I tend to find slower on page one. It’s quite common to see ranking jump 3-4 pages or even more on the way to page one. During the first 3 month or so you often see most movement slowing down in the months after as it settles to its potential on page one - again depending on what engagement and links keep coming in. I wouldn’t say there is a definitive pattern across all the sites and niches I work however the general improvement I have spoken about here is I have found common. I have seen others say it takes blog pieces over 12 months to reach their full organic potential.

Hi Matt,
Do you usually climb at once from let's say 3 rd page to 1 st page one day between that 3 to 6 month period or is the climb something that is almost invisible gaining 2 to 3 spots then not moving then loosing then gaining again ? is there a partern or not really ? Thank you,
-
I think it all depends on your domain and what your post is about as to how quickly it can start ranking well. To get any reasonable ranking for a reasonable search term with some volume I would expect it to still take 3+ months to gain any real traction/rankings in terms of getting towards the top of page 1. This is obviously impacted by the competition of the terms your blog is trying to rank for and also other elements such as your domain authority and so on.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for the information. How about blog pages ? If I create a blog article today (brand new page) will it also take 3 to 6 months or is it faster because it is a new page that never existed before ?
-
Hi - In my experience doing a rebuild/redesign improving the content and then redirecting sees fluctuations with some rankings dropping initially but overall there being a pretty quick positive response to an improved site with rankings peaking for redirected pages between 3 and 6 months. With quite a few terms that ended up page 1 average position 1-3 i have seen the most fluctuation in rankings during the first 3 months - assuming Google is deciding where you should sit testing a higher position and seeing if you belong there. Hope this information helps a little

Page not ranking because of React.js ?
Hey guys, I'm struggling with this part of my website which uses react.js . My developers used this saying it's much better and much quicker (which I think so too) but we have really low traffic coming from google compared to the other parts of the website (not using react.js). Moz gives me a score of 85% for the page but we get less than 100 visits / day and we were targeting 10.000 visits/day giving the traffic of this section in our competitors website (our whole website has 60.000 visits / day). (Section is online since 3 months now) Can you help me see what is wrong there ? I'm in Belgium so we have the website in 3 languages (FR/NL/EN) but the most important ones are FR & NL. FR : https://gocar.be/fr/prix-voitures-neuves/Audi/A3/A3-Sportback/1-0-TFSI_39CER NL : https://gocar.be/nl/prijzen-nieuwe-wagens/Audi/A3/A3-Sportback/1-0-TFSI_39CER EN : https://gocar.be/en/price-new-cars/Audi/A3/A3-Sportback/1-0-TFSI_39CER Main competitors having a better ranking than us (exemple in FR) : https://www.moniteurautomobile.be/modele--audi--a3/prix.html https://www.vroom.be/fr/prix/audi-a3/citadine-2012/197 Cheers ! What should I do if same content ranked twice or more on Google?
I have a Bangla SEO related blog where I have written article like "Domain Selection" "SEO Tools" "MOZ" etc. All the article has been written in Bengali language. I have used wp tag for every post. I have submit xml site map generated by Yoast SEO. However I kept "no index" for category. I know well duplicate content is a major problem for SEO. After publishing my content Google ranked them on 1st page. But my fear is that most of the content twice or more. The keywords are ranked by post, wp post tag and Archive. Now I have a fear of penalty. Please check the screenshot and please suggest me what to do. uRCHf yq7m2 rSLKFLG

Lost homepage rankings for one day
We had a strange thing happen to our website. We have a website that ranks for top keywords for some years. Last week we lost alle of our rankings for one day. The strange thing was, that the rankings were only lost on the homepage, the homepage didnt rank anymore. Even when i googled for 'homepage.com' google showed 'homepage.com/page' and not the homepage. After some reading i checked for the following: no-index sources in the source code - but no results checked for http respons code - 200 ok status checked for downtime in pingdom - no downtime With no rankings on the homepage i was losing 90% of the traffic, i went to GWT and did a fetch as google request, the website looked okay. After that i request a new indexation request. After this the website was back in google with all the old rankings. But what has happend, is still a question for me. Can this be an hack or a wordpress problem or is this realtime penguin with a hit. I also read things about Google flux, but it didnt happen before and it was just the homepage, with no index at all. What happend?

Something is killing my rankings
Hello, I'm in the process of re-doing the following two domains: www.musillawfirm.com and www.melbourneduilawfirm.com because something absolutely plummeted my rankings. Any specific thoughts on why the sited could have gone from top 10 to being virtually deleted? Thank you in advance.

Google Reconsideration - Denied for the Third Time
I have been in the process of trying to get past a "link scheme" penalty for just over a year. I took on the client in April 2012, they had received their penalty in February of 2012 before i started. Since then we have been trying to manually remove links, contact webmasters for link removal, blocking over 40 different domains via the disavow tool and requesting reconsideration multiple times. All i get in return "Site violates Google's quality guidelines." So we regrouped and did some more research to find that about 90% of the offending spam links pointed to only 3 pages of the website so we decided to just delete the pages, display a 404 error in their place and create new pages with new URLs. At first everything was looking good, the new pages were ranking and receiving page authority and the old pages were gone from the indexes. So we resubmitted for reconsideration for the third time and we got the same exact response! I don't know what else to do? I did everything i could think of with the exception of deleting the whole site. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards - Kyle

Rankings traffic percentages
Hi All, It seems that some keywords that are receiving a fairly high amount of monthly traffic such as 6000 hits are passing very little traffic to my website. for a few keywords recieving this amount of traffic my site ranks on page one. is there a breakdown of what percentage of traffic you should roughly get to your website depending on the rank for a certain keyword. example; position 1 send approximately % traffic to your site position 2 send approximately % traffic to your site etc thank you
