Persistent High Spam Score
-
As per Moz, the spam score of my website is 41%. As it was an old domain we bought, we disavowed the two linking domains that we thought might be the reason for the high spam score. But after having done so for more than a month, the spam score of 41% still persists. Can anyone suggest me what can we do to sort this out?
-
ok thanks
-
No-one will object to your spam score, so you are fine on that front.
-
No, the site is not built to provide backlinks. I am talking about creating our own backlinks from good authority websites in our niche , which might object to our high spam score. Anyway, thanks.
-
Hi - a little confused.
If the site is built to "provide backlinks" - it will fail at some stage regardless.
The site should be built for a legitimate purpose to satisfy a customer or consumer need. Then work on building out relevant contextual links it should do well.
Hope that helps.
-
Our concern was that while making backlinks, the websites may shy away if they check our spam score and see us as some website which might affect their ranking adversaly at some point, just as we take care about the spam scores of the websites we link to
-
Take no action, do not disavow.
If your on page one, seem to be ranking well - then that is what matters. Keep an eye on your spam score, but building natural contextual organic links is the way to go.
Go get em.
To be clear to disavow opens the possibility of your rankings tanking. Hence should be used very very carefully.

We started indexing our site a month back. On our keyword it is on the first page in Google Search Results. It has not been penalized in our knowledge. There were only a few incoming links from a website which didn't exist anymore and sounded spammy from it's name itself so we disavowed it. We have started creating our own backlinks from websites in our own niche but all along that initial spam score shown by Moz persists and we have no idea where it is coming from and what else we can do about it.
-
Spam scores for links are guides only - NOT answers. Each link should be examined individually.
First step - is does your site have any sort of google penalty? Is the site ranking well?
If the site is ranking well, no google penalty and is "humming". Then it is unlikely you will disavow. Disavow is a last resort type scenario.
So can you tell us how is the site overall performing?
-
Hi,
The first thing would be to check the incoming links that domain has. To do this you can use the tool of Google Search Console or ahrefs (is a very good tool, but is payment). Once you can detect the toxic links you can make a disavow links through the google tool

Solved How to reduce the spam score for my domain?
My domain longfeifei.com is for a regular company website and someone sent a lot of external links on different low-quality websites on the internet. Now the score is very high about 75%. If I disavow the unusual links from google search console. Is it possible to reduce the spam score? Is MOZ associated with GOOGLE Data? Thanks,

Spam links with high DA
I'm running through the spam analysis and noticed a few links that are considered to be 9+ on the spam score (high spam level), but some of them have DA of 60 -75. How can this be possible? When I view the sites they appear to be be pretty low quality. If i'm considering disavowing a site should I focus on spam score or DA? A DA of 75 is a pretty reputable standing.

Anchor Text - easy loans spam
Hi Moz Gurus, I've been trying for over a year now to clean our website from a virus that hit us. This virus created internal links to these spam- pay day loans, easy loans websites, as well as thousands of external links linking to our domain, and for a while our page redirected to another website. From thousands of links we've managed to get it down to 300, now to 100 ( changed into 410) URL errors that still appear on google webmaster tools under crawl errors. We had our website on Wordpress, currently we are working manually using FTP access. Looking at Moz Open Site Explorer - 90% of the Anchor text for the Root Domain appear as : easy pay day loans etc. How do I get rid of this? Or what is to do in this case? Does it reflect bad on the SEO that the anchor text is not matching our keywords? Looking forward to your reply. If you wish to look at the website: www.manvanlondon.co.uk

Moz shows an F grade and 0 keywords on a previously high ranking page - Please help
Hi all, Moz is showing an F grade and 0 keywords across all URL, Title, Meta, H1, Meta and IMG ALT. My page has also dropped from 1st page rankings for numerous pages to 2nd and 3rd page. The page I am talking about is: http://year13.com.au/10-highest-paying-jobs-you-can-get-without-a-degree/ The keywords/phrases we were previously ranking very well for are: High paying jobs in Australia High paying jobs Highest paying jobs you can get with no degree Etc Etc I have also seen reduction in rankings on other keywords/ pages as well. Does anyone know why this might have happened? And what might be happening? Thanks in advance!

Why does SEOmoz assign such a high Domain Authority to subdomains on blogspot, typepad, wordpress.com, etc.?
I thought it was generally accepted that the search engines treat joesmith.wordpress.com and www.wordpress.com as completely different domains. In which case, a cute but obscure blog like http://monkeysalwayslook.typepad.com/ has no business having a DA of 95.

Twitter Page Authority Score?
I've been doing some competitive research in Open Site Explorer and many of our competitors have Twitter accounts very similar to ours. Their Twitter pages are usually one of the pages with linking to their website with the most Page Authority. The incoming links from Twitter are a "no follow" as you would guess. This has been the case for a large number of well ranking sites I have looked at. www.dremed.com also has a Twitter account at: https://twitter.com/#!/DREmed . However, Open Site Explorer does not list the Twitter link as an incoming link at all ( or if it does it has no Page Authority ). The Twitter account page seems very similar in nature to other competing Twitter pages. I'm not sure why it does not ALSO pull a high Page Authority score??? Do you know why this might be? Best, Justin

Anyway to Verify MozRank & MozTrust Scores w/alternate method?
Hey everyone, I am wondering if there is a way to confirm or reinforce what am i seeing on a webpage using the Moz Toolbar? When I go to this website here: abilogic.com they have a high page/domain trust rank. However, when I filter down to the niche category I would be interested in submitting too abilogic.com/dir/Home/Gardens/ - Then everything, including PageRank, drops to zero. The question I have, is I am not sure if this is really just a poorly constructed and untrustworthy page as identified in the Moz Toolbar. Or is it possible that these page categories have recently been redeveloped or something like that, and that's why the deeper pages are not showing any benefits? Thanks for any help or tips!
