-
Hey Experts,
I hope you are all doing great, I'm extremely confused right now. Any help will be much appreciated. I have redirected my old blog hellgatelondon.com to my new blog iriveramerica.com.
It has been redirected for many days with wild card from bluehost and also within htaccess but Moz link explorer won't detect it, what's the problem? anyone please?
Kind regards...

Your server is 301 redirecting every page from hellgatelondon.com to the https://iriveramerica.com/ homepage.
This is very bad.

To fix this fast
Step 1
First you will need to add your domain that you want to redirect to Cloudflare. Simply signup for a free account and click on “+ Add Site.” Input your domain and click on “Begin Scan.” It may take a minute or two and then click on “Continue Setup.”
Step 2
By default the scan will show you the records of your current domain. You can simply delete everything and simply leave an A name record for both the www version and your primary domain. The IP address is simply the one provided by your current domain registrar. In this case, it was just. Then click on “Continue.”
Step 3
Select the Cloudflare free plan and click “Continue.”
Step 4
You will then need to point your current domain to the Cloudflare nameservers. You can do this at your domain registrar.
Step 5
Under the Crypto menu, select “Flexible” SSL. You will need this to ensure that redirects over HTTPS also work.
Step 6
Under the Page Rules menu click on “Create Page Rule.”
Step 7
You will then want to enter the following pattern:
https://hellgatelondon.com/*
Select “Forwarding URL” and “301 – Permanent Redirect” for the settings, and input the following rule:
https://iriveramerica.com/$1
The /$1 enables the wildcard part to function. Then click on “Save and Deploy.”
he single rule above makes the following work:
- http://www.hellgatelondon.com/ 301 redirects to https://iriveramerica.com
- https://hellgatelondon.com/ 301 redirects to https://iriveramerica.com
- http://hellgatelondon.com/* 301 redirects to https://iriveramerica.com/*
- https://www.hellgatelondon.com/* 301 redirects to https://iriveramerica.com/*
How it works big pic:

Hi
I see what happen you 301 redirected all of your pages to your new homepage
three examples (the fix is below)
redirects
| Redirect Type | URL |
| | http://www.hellgatelondon.com/system-requirements/ |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/system-requirements/ |
| 301 | http://iriveramerica.com/ |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/ || Redirect Type | URL |
| | http://www.hellgatelondon.com/namco-announces-free-server-support-2009-hellgate |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/namco-announces-free-server-support-2009-hellgate |
| 301 | http://iriveramerica.com/ |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/ || Redirect Type | URL |
| | http://www.hellgatelondon.com/underground/single-player-patch-0-6-released |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/underground/single-player-patch-0-6-released |
| 301 | http://iriveramerica.com/ |
| 301 | https://iriveramerica.com/ |http://www.hellgatelondon.com/underground/single-player-patch-0-6-released
So it 301 redirects to:
https://iriveramerica.com/underground/single-player-patch-0-6-released
You need to set up page to page 301 redirects
If you have not made any changes to your overall site structure, but have simply relocated the site in its current state, you can add the following lines to your .htaccess file located at the root of your old domain:
<ifmodulemod_rewrite.c>RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^hellgatelondon.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.hellgatelondon.com$ RewriteRule (.*)$ https://iriveramerica.com.com/$1 [R=301,L]</ifmodulemod_rewrite.c>
If you have made changes to your site structure, you can still use the lines above on your old domain, but you will also need to create redirects in the .htaccess file on your new domain to handle the specific site changes.
Then in Google
Use the change of address tool here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/change-address,

Redirecting a Few URLs to a New Domain
We are in the process of buying the blog section of a site. Let's say Site A is buying Site B. We have taken the content from Site B and replicated it on Site A, along with the exact url besides the TLD. We then issued 301 redirects from Site B to Site A and initiated a crawl on those original Site B urls so Google would understand they are now redirecting to Site A. The new urls for Site A, with the same content are now showing up in Google's index if we do a site:SiteA.com search on the big G. Anyone have any experience with this as to how long before Site A urls should replace Site B urls in the search results? I undestand there may be a ranking difference and CTR difference based on domain bias, etc... I'm just asking if everything goes as planned and there isn't a huge issue, does the process take weeks or months?

Subdomain vs totally new domain
Problem: Our organization publish maps for public viewing using google maps. We are currently getting limited value from these links. We need to separate our public and private maps for infrastructure purposes, and are weighing up the strengths and weaknesses of separating by domain or sub domain with regards SEO and infrastructure. Current situation: maps.mycompany.com currently has a page authority of 30 and mycompany.com has a domain authority of 39. We are currently only getting links from 8 maps which are shared via social media whereas most people embed our maps on their website using an iframe which I believe doesn't do us any favour with SEO. We currently have approx 3K public maps. Question: What SEO impact can you see if we move our public maps from the subdomain maps.mycompany.com to mycompanypublicmaps.com? Thanks in advance for your help and happy to give more info if you need it!

Can a move to a new domain (with 301's) shake off a google algorithm penalty
we have done everything under the sun using the holy grail of google guidelines to get our site back onto page 1 for our domain. we have recovered (penguin and panda) algorithm filters for keywords that were page 1 going to page 7 and now page 2. its been 2 years and we cant hit page 1 again. this is our final phase we cna think of.. do you thin kit will work if we move to a new domain. and how much traffic/rankings can we expect to lose in the short-term?

Launching a new website. Old inherited site cannot be saved after lifted penalty. When should we kill the old site and how?
Background Information A website that we inherited was severely penalized and after the penalty was revoked the site still never resurfaced in rankings or traffic. Although a dramatic action, we have decided to launch a completely new version of the website. Everything will be new including the imagery, branding, content, domain name, hosting company, registrar account, google analytics account, etc. Our question is when do we pull the plug on the old site and how do we go about doing it? We had heard advice that we should make sure we run both sites at the same time for 3 months, then deindex the old site using a noindex meta robots tag.We are cautious because we don't want the old website to be associated in any way, shape or form with the new website. We will purposely not be 301 redirecting any URLs from the old website to the new. What would you do if you were in this situation?

Redirect ot new domain
Hello, Can someone give me advice on this specific situation: For now we have a website www.website.com/ Because of some specific business situation we want to move to .ca version but also we want to keep website.com - for U.S customers. Here's how I imagined to do this: 301 Redirect from www.website.com to website.ca. Because at this time website.com redirects to www.website.com I would remove the redirect and just keep it like website.com (so this will be new domain). Is this is the right solution? Regards, Nenad

To Redirect or Not
I have a strange situation and looking for advice on how well a permanent redirect of url will work. I have an eCommerce site called twpstain.com. This site sells TWP Deck stain and the URL/Content is fully owned by me. We do not however own the TWP brand and have always operated with permission from the manufacturer as an Authorized dealer. Circumstance have come up where they now want to be in control of all URLS that have the name "TWP" in them. Not sure if they legally can do this but they can cut me off with product if I do not comply. My options are: 1. A permanent redirect of entire site to new URL that does not have the word "TWP" in the url. 2. Give them the URL but they are willing to have me use the URL as I have in the past. A contract for this would be drawn up to cover me for years to come and possibly offer compensation if they decide not to renew. My concerns are numerous but the question for the Moz community is to how well the 301 redirect will work and will I lose my rankings? I currently dominate the rankings for my site and I very concerned that there will be major loss of sales and traffic. Any help or opinions on this would be much appreciated.

Blog posts, blog archives and duplication
Just reviewed a blog integrated with my website, and have noticed duplicate content - the blog homepage includes blogpost summaries (not a major issue as now set up so only put in opening paragraphy then anchor text to full blog post). Then that's a full blog blog post if you click for more - then that's carbon copied over in the archive. So one near exact duplicate. Is this something worth taking action on with nocrawl tags, etc., on archive duplicates of blog posts, or shouldn't I be to hung-up on this? I'm a scientist by training, so tend to go further and further once I get going...

WWW vs Non-WWW/Moving a site to a new CMS/Redirect all of the previous URLs
We are working on a new design for a website, which is currently on a CMS that has non-seo-friendly URLs. There is no redirection of 'www' to non-www or vice versa, or handling of homepage redirection so there is only one instance of 'home'. To move the site in the future, all of these URLs will have to be redirected to their new, and I hope, seo-friendly counterparts. Is it prudent now to redirect the four home page links so there is only one? and to redirect all non-www to 'www' so there is only one instance of each page? Or should I leave it and redirect all of them when the time comes?
