Need help with list schema!

Hi all,

I am trying out list schema on my site, but in Google's structured data testing tool I'm having an issue with the URL section.

Whenever I have the same URL for each position is says that duplicate URLs aren't allowed, then when I have different URLs it says that they all have to be the same URL.

Does anyone have any pointers that can help make my list schema error free!?

Hi Katherine,

I think you can simplify the Schema as you're making items for every URL but, in the end, they're not necessarily separate objects. I'm not sure if that's actually causing the issues, but I do know that you for sure can't list the same URLs in there multiple times. So try this format:

Product Listings - is it worth indexing the whole product catalogue?

I'm working on a site that has around 500 product listings. This is for a rental company without any sort of ecommerce platform, so, there's no prices, no adding a product to a cart, etc. Also, there are no different sizing / color options for each product, so each product is the canonical version. After some restructuring, we're starting to see a lot of 404s and just some general mess. I have a couple of thoughts. My first is to just noindex each product. We hardly get any direct traffic to an individual product page, and if they land anywhere related to products, it's usually a category page. If I noindex the products, I don't have to worry about the 404s. My second is to implement the rel=canonical tag on each product to correspond to its primary category. While this is sort of liberal use of the canonical tag, I'm thinking that it could help drive more organic traffic to the category pages. Does anyone have any insight or thoughts on this? My pages are not listed in search results

My URL is: puremobile.comI have two websites: puremobile.ca and puremobile.com : both same products, but different discription , but same title of productwhen i exact search a product for example :** "HTC 70H0029701M Smartphone Case Large"** , puremobile.ca shows up , but not puremobile.com I have no issues with indexing, webmaster tools is indexing normallywhen i search for: puremobile.com "HTC 70H0029701M Smartphone Case Large" , i get the puremobile.com product page.but when i search ANY product (no matter how unique its title or description is : google doesnt display puremobile.commy PR ( as i far as i can see was PR 5 last year, and today when i checked it was PR 0) .. I havent been doing any fishy Link building, some basic blogger outreach ( non paid), and social bookmarking. and my blog is very active and I have original content on my pages.what is causing this? and how can i resolve this issue.any help is greatly appreciated

Can you help with some concerns over mobile site in SERPS

Hi Guys I wonder if you can put me right on this query please? We have a mobile version of our site, on an m. domain. it is actually http://m.uniquemagazines.co.uk. I have created a mobile sitemap, and added the sitemap reference to the robots.txt file. I have setup the site in web master tools, and submitted the sitemap to web master tools. The sitemap can be found at http://m.uniquemagazines.co.uk/sitemap.xml. This is an index file, which in turn links to 3 sitemaps, one for pages, one for product pages and one for category pages. I have not blocked any crawlers in the robots.txt file. My query is we have some products showing up in the SERPS with both the mobile and normal website. Secondly, in web master tools I am told that our mobile sitemap contains 3675 submitted URLs. However, it states under the WEB banner that 3675 submitted, and 3675 indexed. But under MOBILE it states 3675 submitted, none indexed... I will attempt to attach a screenshot from WMT of this. My Rankings Keep Going Down - Needs some more ideas on why...

Hi Everyone, I have been working on the website www.PetsSpark.com for a while now. I used to be on the first page for many of my keywords, now I am lucky if i am on the 2nd or 3rd. I stopped my SEO efforts for about 3 months while making changes to the website, its whithin these 3 months that I started dropping from the first page. The biggest thing I notice is the "type" of website now ranking for my main keywords. Mostly Forums, Blogs, or Product Review websites. Take for instance Dog Tear Stain Remover. I used to rank at about #5 for this keyword and now i rank at #20. I'm not sure if my loss of ranking is a combination of things like who Google is letting rank now or if there is something wrong on my website, etc. Can anyone give me a little insight?? Please.... I will also be happy to give more information about what has been going on if needed.

Canonicalization of index.html - please help

I've read up on the subject but am new at this so I thought I would just put forth a simple question. We want our home page to be referred to as www.domain.com. We want the search engines to find and return this URl in search results. But the page has to have a name and the actual name is NOT to www.domain.com/index.html. This, I believe is what can cause duplicate cotnent issues (not really duplicate but perceived by the serach engines as duplicate content). Is it best to insert http://www.domain.com/" /> in the HEAD section of the index.html page or am I totally misunderstanding this concept?

Do I need to do anything with masking?

Hello, I read up a bit on rel=cansomething where if a page has duplicate content you should put the tag there linking to the real page. I have a godaddy domain that uses blogger for it's posts currently (Foward with masking). Do I need this tag?

What research needs to be done prior to purchasing an old domain?

I'm planning on purchasing an old domain. I'd like to get an idea whether or not any "shadyness" was going on with the domain over the years. It's still indexed in google. I "whois'd" it, ran it through open site explorer, and did a "link:" search. Anything else you would recommend for researching this domain?
