Very unsure about thousands of backlinks from jesse tree
-
Google Search Console shows 4K backlinks from jessetree.net (i do not see this backlink in Moz inbound links though). I have been tracking backlinks from this domain for half a year and it fluctuates between 1K and 6K is the highest I have seen it, not sure what is causing the link count to change. We are using Google's disavow tool against this domain and have been for 5 months. Does anyone have any idea what jesse tree is and any insight into this odd (to me) backlink situation?

This probably isn't the last time you'll see some odd linking behavior to your site. You're doing the right thing by keeping an eye out on your backlink profile.

Thank you for your response. So I looked at what pages in my site these backlinks link to, looking at GSC > Links > Top linking sites > jessetree.net, and all 4k+ links to my home page. Just to make sure, i checked other GSC properties on my radar and see if a domain backlins to multiple pages, GSC shows it. But in the case of jessetree.net, everything links to the home page. in fact, GSC also shows 1 for target pages from this domain. then i went deeper with GSC > latest links and found 2 links from this domain and loaded them for insight, but only see a WordPress error. So nothing really learned there.
GSC > latest links, 2 instanced of 4k+ linking to my home page
these links just load a wordpress error.

Have you tried looking at the nature of some of these links? What do the pages with the links look like? its not uncommon to see things like this... there could be many explanations - spam, scraping bots, remnants of staging environments amongst a few.
If you have disavowed the whole domain, then there is nothing to worry about.

Backlinks from old domain
Hi, We have gone through a change of company brand name including a new domain name.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Agguk
We followed google recommendations at: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/83106?hl=en and it seems to have worked really well, the new domain has replaced the old in the google search results. My question: Still most of our backlinks, both anchor text and links use the old brand name and domain and it´s a slow process trying to update all references. Although they get redirected fine to the new domain (also following google recommendations), I wonder if the current scenario is doing any harm, SEO wise (other than the missed visual exposure of the new brand name) ? ...since the old brand name is not present at the new site I´m thinking of including "New brand name - previously old brand name" somewhere just to provide some sort of connection to all old backlinks, would that be unnecessary? I should mention that the old brand name actually includes our most important keyword but the new brand name does not. Thanks!0 -
Same-server, Same-Market, Micro-Sites backlinks.. good or bad?
Hi there, We are a real estate listings portal and we also create micro sites for real estate agents. These micro-sites are hosted on our same server, similar in structure, different in design... different in content. They all link to us but not within each other. They all link to us because they have to access our login system in order to manage their property listings on their own micro sites (which updates on our own website too). (Also as marketing for others to see that we have built their sites with our engine). Would all these backlinks be considered to be coming from the same c-block? Thus, being sub-optimal for our SEO efforts? Should we worry about grouping them and giving them separate IP addresses? Should we add nofollow tags to these links or are there any other things you would worry about? Many thanks.

Do UTM URL parameters hurt SEO backlink value?
Does www.example.com and www.example.com/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Press+Release&utm_campaign=Google have the same SEO backlink value? I would assume that Google knows the difference.

Can adding backlinks to your video on youtube increase rank?
Hello, I know that adding many backlinks directly to your money site can be harmful as Google doesn't like it but I want to know that I have a video on each post of my website and my one friend told me that if you add backlinks to your video which is linked to your site than it may be helpful to increase your rankings. Is it true? Please let me know. Thanks

Backlinks question: High Domain Authority, Lower Page Authority
We have a possibility of contributing guest blogs (with followed backlinks) to a site with very high domain authority (and highly trafficked), but when we've looked at the blog entires they already have, most of them have a much lower page authority. How do relevant links from a page with a lower PA but on a domain with a really high DA end up impacting our overall backlink profile? Can an expert or two give me some advice on what this may mean for us if we choose to go for it? In your opinion, does having lots of relevant links from a site with a much higher domain authority than ourselves (to give you an idea, our domain authority is in the low 60's, this site has a domain authority of almost 90) worth the time/effort/resources unto itself? Thanks!

How does Google know if a backlink is good or not?
Hi, What does Google look at when assessing a backlink? How important is it to get a backlink from a website with relevant content? Ex: 1. Domain/Page Auth 80, website is not relevant. Does not use any of the words in your target term in any area of the website. 2. Domain/Page Auth 40, website is relevant. Uses the words in your target term multiple times across website. Which website example would benefit your SERP's more if you gained a backlink? (and if you can say, how much more would it benefit - low, medium, high).

Natural Backlink
What is a natural backlink? is it a backlink that someone gave a site for their great content? (this is what my common sense tells me) and this is what someone else's opinion is: No, quality backlinks are the one which are highly relevant, is from a high PR page. However, a natural backlink is the one which is within the body of the page, which is surrounded by relevant text, you can also call it a contextual link. Except links which are placed on a resource page which have no content in it and links which are placed under blogroll etc. this dosent even make sense to me : )

Tread of backlinks after 301
After 301-ing a domain to a new domain, how should we tread the changing of the backlinks to the old domain? We might be able to have a certain amount changed rather quickly. Should we consider the new domain as a "new" domain, and in this sense, not have them changed quickly, (afraid to trip any filter) Or wil Google see the new domain (after indexing) with the authority of the old domain, so , if the backlinks are direct or coming through a 301 will make no difference? Hope my question is clear and excuses for my english 😛 Thanks for reading and hoping for input,
