Modify Google Analytics Script To Only Cookie U.S. Sessions
-
I know I can filter sessions from outside the US, but is there a way to modify the GA script so that it doesn't cookie visitors to a site if they are from outside the US?
Note, this is separate from having a cookie consent opt-in.
Thanks in advance,

I'm running a game blog and hosted on Wordpress. I'm also facing the same analytics problem. Check out my website stat.

Hey, thanks for the response. Legal department wants to eliminate all tracking of EU visitors to their US site (i.e. no Google Analytics cookies/tracking). They already have GDPR and cookie consent implemented, but as far as legal is concerned they want no risks so they wanted to know if GA could be altered to not track site visitors from the EU while still tracking all other site visitors.
Since they don't want to block visitors from the EU from being able to visit the site and I'm not aware of a way to tell GA not to cookie visitors from specific locations, I thought I would ask if there was a way. Right now best solution I have is to redirect EU visitors to a newly created landing page (or microsite) which doesn't contain GA script. That way they can still learn about services, but there is no risk of GA tracking and they can't hit the main site where tracking is enabled.
Any better ideas are welcomed.

As the question is interesting, I went to search and I did not find anything that explains hoot legitimately modify the GA tracking script. May I ask you why do you want the script to not cookie non-US visitors to your website?

Why No Goal is recorded in Google Analytics
Hello, I am not sure if i made an error. Can someone please point out. On our sales form, when a user submits the form, the URL displayed is - https://x-y.com/thank-you-2/ I created a Goal like this - 1 ) Under Goal set up, i choose Template option 2 ) Under Goal description, i choose Type > Destination 3 ) and finally, in Goal details field, destination equals to /thank-you-2/ But, no Goal is being tracked. In the first step, should i have selected 'Custom' instead of 'Template' Thanks

Whats (Other) traffic in Google Analytics?
When I look through all our clients, a few are receiving the majority of their traffic from (other). [ Acquisition > Channels > (Other) ]. The only option in (other) is "website" or "offline", whatever that may be. And even weirder, the avg session duration is 0:00. Any idea what this may be?

Collecting post codes / zip codes in Google Analytics - Terms of Service
Hi Mozzers, Just reading up on Google Analytic's Terms of Service and wondering if collecting post codes / zip codes (from a website's 'Find my nearest...' tool) adhere's to the following: "You will not (and will not allow any third party to) use the Service to track, collect or upload any data that personally identifies an individual (such as a name, email address or billing information), or other data which can be reasonably linked to such information by Google." What do you think?

What are all the 5's in SEO Queries in Analytics?
Every small business client has the same thing. 5 impressions for keywords, row after row, every single month. Why exactly 5 and why month after month the same thing? I see this in every local business I work in - and for very important phrases! It's gotten to the point that I think those are fake and I just look at the impressions that have numbers great than 5. Obviously I have to get their impressions up, but what am I to believe about these?

Does Google encryption of keyword data impact SEO revenue reporting in Google analytics?
Hi there, I know Google has been encrypting SEO keyword data which they rolled out in September 2013. My question is - will this impact SEO revenue figures reported in Google analytics? I have been monitoring SEO revenue figures for a client and they are significantly down even though rankings have not lowered. Is this because of Google's encryption? Could there be another reason? Many thanks!

Hello, I have a website and it contains landing pages. after tracking and analyzing the data in Google Analytics , I found out that the traffic for the whole site is affected by the visits to the landing page. I also need can you help me solve this problem I thought about create another account in Google Analytics and set it to my websites pages (not including the landing pages). and keep the current code for the landing pages. my question is regarding this: Is it legal to use 2 different GA code (each one of them belong to different account) in the same domain ? can you provide me with more information about Multi Account in Google Analytics, and how can I use it to divide the traffic in my website between the traffic and the data for the landing pages and for the website itself ?
