Indexed sites
-
Hello I´m a newbie here on seomoz. My question is just simple but i need to be sure about that:Refering to the report which you can create in the "crawl diagnostic summary". Does the CSV export lists all and ONLY the URLS which are in the google index? If not: does a report is available where all and ONLY the URLS are listed which are in google index? Many thanks! Henrik

Hi Henrik,
Like Tom and Chris mentioned, our tools won't be able to tell you which of your pages are indexed by Google.
That being said, the crawl diagnostics will tell you if your redirected pages are reachable by search engines and OSE will tell you internal and external links. OSE is updated every few weeks so it might not show your most recent changes. Using a combination of your campaign crawls and OSE should be able to get you the data that you need to make sure you're in the best position for your site relaunch.
Hope this helps and good luck with relaunching your site!
Best,
Sam

Use your OSE report to find pages that are being linked to from external sources and be sure to redirect all of those. Use your analytics report to find pages that are bring in search traffic and be sure to redirect those. The rest are neither being linked to nor bringing you any traffic so their priority is on the low end, anyway.

thanks for your answers, my question was more to get a full report with sites which are indexed by google. I´mgoing to make a relauch soon. In the new website i changed a lot of categories and URL´s. Now I want to make sure that all sites which are indexed are redirected to the new URL with 301. It would be very helpfull to have a file whith ALL Urls which are indexed by google now.

Hi goodcat, you'll see from the FAQs on this page http://www.seomoz.org/help/crawl-diagnostics that the report data is from seomoz's crawl. Your question was asked and some answeres provided not too long ago over here: http://www.seomoz.org/q/is-it-possible-to-get-a-list-of-pages-indexed-in-google.

Hi Henrik
I have just checked this for you and yes, SEOMoz will show you URLs that have been deindexed by Google. As proof, here is a URL that contains a link to a site I've worked with that has come up in the SEOMoz crawl, but you will see has been de-indexed by Google (as has the whole domain):
http://www.doublebitbd.com/otherservices.htm
I'm not sure if there is a tool that will show you links that only exist in the Google index, I'm afraid, although I could be wrong. I do know a tool that will tell you which links pointing to your website have been deindexed and that is the LinkDetox tool. It will show you which links on your site are "toxic", meaning the URLs they sit on have been deindexed. The remaining links will be ones that point to your website.
You could also export the URLs in the SEOMoz report and put them into this IndexCheckingTool. Not sure how accurate it is, but if it gives you URLs that are noindexed from your Moz list, you could manually filter them out.
Hope this helps.

Open Site Explorer Link Metrics
I'm new to SEOMOZ. I have a Pro account and have been messing with the tools available. I ran a report in Open Site Explorer on one of my prospects. I also entered in several of their competitors to see how they rank. I would like to show the report to my prospective client but couldn't figure out how to download the information. Is that info available for download? Does anyone have a recommendation for showing prospects how they rank against their competitors. Any help appreciated.

But my open site explorer report doesn't show those links on the inbound report. however on their respective sites, I see the listing when I search for us. And the link does work..... Why is this? Why don't I see it on the open site report?

Why is the SEOmoz customer service on this site so awful?

Links from External Sites not Showing on OpenSite or Google Webmaster Tools
Hi, I asked this in another post, but didn't get a solid answer. For several websites I manage, I have access to their Google Webmaster Tools. When I put the site through there, or the link:// or SEOMoz's OpenSite link reporter, I get not even a fraction of the links that I know are pointing to the websites in question. Some of these links are from home pages or side columns, and some are from articles keep within a website, like at Inc.com. I wondered if the links in question were not themselves being indexed, but if I do a very specific search, I can pull them up in the search results. Is it just common knowledge that these link tools are not accurate? And to assume that somehow, search engines really do see all of the inbound links, even if our reporting tools don't. Thanks in advance!

Open Site Explorer vs. Linkscape... without mozRank passed how do you measure link value?
Hi all, Since Linkscape was retired we've been struggling without the mozRank passed data for our competitor research. However, I've read that it wasn't a particularly reliable metric to go on so my question is: what makes a link more valuable, in your opinion? I'm trying to work out the relation between Page Authority / Domain Authority / Number of Links etc., ideally to come up with some form of ranking system where we can say: Overall link value = ( (A x Page Authority) x (B x Domain Authority) x (C x Number of Links) ) / Number of Linking Domains or something like that. Is this a good way to go about it? What do you guys look at when using the OSE data? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I'm link building with Open Site Explorer. I'm really picky in get links from only high quality sites. When do you stop going down the list of possible backlink providers because the page authority is too low. I usually stop at 40, but what do you do, why, and what does it depend on?

Backlinks using Open Site Explorer
Hey guys, So I was doing some backlink analysis for a client and was utilizing Open Site Explorer, which stated that I had roughly 2,111 External Followed Links. However, I can't seem to find a way to export all 2,111 backlinks. I wanted to make sure if the links I had acquired had been indexed and crawled, and picked up, but I can't seem to access the full list on a domain level, only on the subdomain level. Anybody have any suggestions or advice? Any would be helpful! Best, James
