How do you report SEO audit findings?
-
Hello, Mozzers!
I'm curious to know how you report SEO audit findings. Do you use a spreadsheet? A presentation? A formal report? Or maybe something else.
If you have a favourite audit template, I'd love to see it.
A second question: what things do you report in an audit? I currently report crawl findings, authority and trust, link profiles, and competitive analysis. I also investigate a site's security—that's not usually part of an audit, but site owners need to know about it.
What do you report to your audit customers?
Thanks for sharing your auditing wisdom!

@martijn_scheijbeler Thank you for this response. It makes a lot of sense. Highlight actionable findings and value-adding actions.
As for security, I'm not an expert, but I still point out obvious gaps when I see them. Some sites have no backups and no provisions for login security and firewalling, for example. So I mention these things. If I don't tell my customers, who will?
Bedankt, Martijn.

Hi Andy,
This is a great question, let me flip this on its head and give you an insight into what I want to see as somebody who's requested but also delivered themselves on multiple audits.
- Show where the value is, I want to know based on keyword research and a little bit of competitive insight what the areas are that we should explore.
- Technical findings, speed is more important at the moment combined with structured data. Security in my opinion is an overrated piece in the mind of SEOs, we're not experts at that by a stretch.
- Crawl findings, especially for big sites tell me what types of pages are missing in XML or HTML sitemaps and how to improve the internal link structure.
Preferred formats, a presentation combined with a spreadsheet so that we have a list to work off but also a deck that can be presented internally to explain what's going on.
Martijn - hope this helps!

What Tools Should I Use To Investigate Damage to my website
I would like to know what tools I should use and how to investigate damage to my website in2town.co.uk I hired a person to do some work to my website but they damaged it. That person was on a freelance platform and was removed because of all the complaints made about them. They also put in backdoors on websites including mine and added content. I also had a second problem where my content was being stolen. My site always did well and had lots of keywords in the top five and ten, but now they are not even in the top 200. This happened in January and feb. When I write unique articles, they are not showing in Google and need to find what the problem is and how to fix it. Can anyone please help

Zero '0' Total Visits
Hi. One of the properties in our account has been reporting zero '0' total visits for the past few weeks. The other properties aren't affected. Is there a reason for this or is this an issue on the Moz side of things. Thanks!Moz Zero Visits.PNG

Splitting a strong page - SEO
Hi, I have a page with high traffic that is showing a list of flea markets in a unique URL. We are redesigning our website and we have created a listing directory of flea markets, so the users can look up and find the information for each. Each flea market will have its own URL in the future, and the listing directory shows only summarized info of each flea market in the results. Before activating the new flea market section, I would like to make sure which is our best bet: Option 1: Create pages with same URL/content as the current ones, which we won't link from frontend, and besides that, use the new flea market section on a separate page. Option 2: Redirect the current page to the new flea market section. As an inaccurate reference because it depends on many variables and SEO doesn't have an actual number, I understand this is more or less how it would work: Example Option 1 (after 1 week of launch): Old Flea Market Pages SEO traffic: 10,000 visits/month New Copied Flea Market Pages traffic: 9,700 (maybe a bit below 100 because of design changes etc) New Flea Market Section traffic: 500 visits/month (then increase over time) Example Option 2 (after 1 week of launch): Old Flea Market Pages SEO traffic: 10,000 visits/month New Redirected Flea Market Pages traffic: 9,000 (in principle PageRank wouldn't be affected, but other rankings might) New Flea Market Section traffic: (joined above, then increase over time) According to this, Option 1 would give us more total future visits compared to redirecting, plus the new flea market pages would add to it. If redirecting, the new flea market section would add up some SEO juice to the old page, but not as much as Option 1 (not redirecting). Please confirm. Which option is the best one and why? SEO Strategy help
Hi, I run a B2B 3rd party retail ecommerce site and I am kind of stuck on how to implement my SEO strategy.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | steve45058
So I learned from AdWords data that the best converting words to my site is the (Brand name, Model Number). Many of my B2B customers already know what they want/are looking for. Now this is all fine and dandy for adwords, but I don't really know how to implement this strategy on the SEO side. I do rank decent for some of these product keywords, but 99% of them I do not (which confuses me because some of the brands I rank high for are the more popular brands eg. more competition.) When I do keyword research on SEMRush or another site, it tells me that the competition for this type of keyword strategy is extremely high. Any Help, Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!1 -
