My Blog Post Not Appearing In Top - Covered every aspect of the topic
-
Hello Moz Team, hope everyone is doing well,
I have question regarding mine blog post recently that I published:
https://mobilemall.pk/blog/definition-of-cuboid-surface-area-volume-basic-properties/
My target keywords in this post are Cuboid Definition, Cuboid Surface Area, Cuboid Volume.
I have considered and applied every good SEO practice, like H Tags, gave links to authority sites, featured image, other images, etc
but my post is still not appearing in top 3, 5 or even 10
I have covered each and every aspect of the topic,
Can anyone let me know what's the reason and any suggestion for me.
Thanks!

The main reason is the competitiveness of the keywords you are optimizing your post for. This words seem to be competitive and you have powerful competitors and a rather new website can't compete with strong websites that are running and optimizing their content for some special keywords and have thousands of backlinks. You should consider that on-page SEO is only a part ( in some cases if you opt for high competitive keywords, a very small part) of SEO and another factor for search engines to rank is off-page SEO and it depends on the number and quality of your backlinks, your domain age, domain authority and etc.

Hey @joeysolicitor!
Thanks for reaching out, I'm sure others may have additional ideas and thoughts, but here are some of my ideas.

I would consider the keywords you are targeting. It's possible that these keywords are of higher difficulty because of larger mathematical players like Wolfram, Math, net, Wikipedia and others. You may want to consider identifying some less difficult, high volume keywords to go after to increase site visibility.

I'm also seeing a number of interesting SERP features in your keyword searches, it might be worth investigating how you could optimize the images in your post, or add a video to diversify your ranking potential!
Let me know if you try any of these ideas!

Improving SEO for an e-commerce page with 1 product page
I'm trying to improve the SEO for an e-commerce store that I'm working for that sells custom car air fresheners where you select the shape of the item and then upload the photo. The site has been around for almost 10 years so has authority in the field and ranks number one for custom car air fresheners and other related high-traffic keywords. However, there is no blog, no social media and has 8 total pages: landing page, FAQ, contact, guidelines, shape/product (page that starts the ordering process with little text), scents, terms, and samples.

I'm struggling with how we rank higher for specific keywords that we are not number 1 with ok traffic (such as dog air freshener, custom air freshener for car with picture, custom photo car air freshener) and not affect the current keywords that we are ranking number one for. In addition, how do we rank higher for other keywords, if we don't have that many pages like a blog to create content? I was thinking of creating a blog to target more keywords, but I don't think there is enough relevant content to make. And I feel Google would find a blog about "top gifts for dad" or "top gifts for the holidays" not relevant. I was also thinking of adding more text to the shapes/product page which could be tailored towards a keyword. Maybe I could create another product page that goes into more detail about the air freshener with images, descriptions, and other use cases. On MOZ, the Domain Authority is 18 (really low), so I am thinking about working on getting backlinks from relevant sources with authority to improve our SEO. Or do we not mess with the text on the website since it works and not worry about the other keywords and focus on technical SEO items and backlinks to help with SEO? TLDR: How do you improve SEO for new keywords for an e-commerce business that doesn't have a lot of pages for content without affecting its number 1 ranking on other keywords?0 -
Old Blogs
We have several blogs on our site for a range of products we no longer stock. Would you set up a redirect for these - and how long would you keep it in place?

Building an Industry Resource List w Links to Competitors
Hi folks. I'm working on a B2B e-commerce site in a very commoditized space. It's very technical and longtail-- several thousand product pages and of those, over 1,000 landing pages per month, when visitors find products. Most items we sell are only bought once or twice per year. Many won't even be bought in a given year. So it's tough to invest a lot on a given page, but we chip away at it. We don't have many non-product pages. To date, we've grown with solid on-page SEO for products and good customer service. I'm adding a resource section to include helpful articles and definitions of technical terms. Also, since good sources of products can be so hard to find (we literally have customers like NASA googling for parts), I would like to build an industry guide of sorts. It would include manufacturers, master distributors, distributors and resellers (like our site). To be a good list, it only makes sense to include my competitors. It's likely very few people will actually ever see this page, but I figure more deep content with lots of highly relevant links is good for raising DA, especially because it could become a page others want to link to. I haven't found a comparable resource in the 4 years I've been working on this project. Any reason I should not do this? Any pitfalls I should be aware of? Thank you!

Should I split long form content?
I have quite a long content on my site. By length I mean around 8000-9000 words. I optimized it to cover almost all searches related to a topic. But this length makes me uneasy for some reason. I do not think that users will find what they are looking for in such a long content. However, I don't want to neglect the SEO aspect of the content. I can talk about something like this without sharing the keywords completely: Title + for girls Title + for boys Title + for kids Title + for girlfriend Title + for boyfriend Title + for students As I said, in the current situation, these are all sub-headings (H2) of 8000-9000-word content. When I make a separate content for each of them, I can bring them all closer to 1500-2000 words. However, I am undecided whether this is the right step in terms of SEO and content optimization. What are your views?

Is It Necessary To Spin My Original Articles -- For Top Article Directory Distribution
Is it Necessary To Spin My Original Article For Top Article Directory Distribution like from Isnare if I have no interest in ranking for them just getting traffic form internal visitors, syndication oppty's for webmaster and ezine publishers ? I was told that it is not necessary to spin my original articles that were indexed in my blog before they are distributed to the 2 top article directories ezine articles and goarticles and the other top 13 or 15 --- If true - why ? and if false -- why ? I am not looking to rank in article directories my purpose is for syndication purposes and also any traffic I can get internally from visitors to the article directories. So would the article directories frown on me if I am submitting the same article from my blog to all other article directories as is straight from my blog. I

Do Older Post Dates Affect Click Throughs From Google ?
My Blog Entries appear in Google with a date, do those dates matter ? Will people stay away from an older date, say 2009 ? Is it worth removing the dates ? Or should I update the entry and change published date ?
