Hi there!
Please note that Spam Score updates quarterly, so any changes you've made to the features on your site that correspond to Spam Score flags won't update immediately. Please take a look at your guide on how to investigate Spam Score
I hope this helps!

Hi there!
It may help to note that anything under 30% is considered a low Spam Score. If you're looking to reduce your own site's spam score then you will need to look at the features on your site that correspond to the relevant Spam Score flag. @designbump Hi there!
A score of 1%-30% is considered a Low Spam Score. If you look at the 27 factors or signals we use to determine Spam Score (https://mza.bundledseo.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score#spam-score-signals)
There are two that may be impacted by the quantity of outbound links:
20. Number of External Outlinks Spam sites are more likely to have abnormally high or low external outlinks.- Number of Domains Linked-To Spam sites are more likely to have abnormally high or low unique domains to which they link.
However these are just two of 27 factors that are considered as part of Spam Score.
Spam Score represents the percentage of sites with similar features to the site you’re researching which we've found to be penalized or banned by Google. Spam Score is based on our machine learning model which identified 27 common features among the millions of banned or penalized sites in the data we fed it.
It's best used in the context of reviewing the overall quality of your site so that it best serves your users.
If you do make changes please note that Spam Score is updated quarterly, however we don't currently have an exact date of when the next update is due.
I hope this helps!

A score of 1%-30% is considered a Low Spam Score.
A score of 31%-60% is considered a Medium Spam Score.
A score of 61%-100% is considered a High Spam Score.
A high Spam Score for your site, or a site you're looking at, doesn't mean this site is necessarily spammy, or doesn't have great backlinks. It's a sign that you should do some more investigation into the quality and relevance the features on the site you're investigating.

I'm not even sure how often they rescan the website and update their records because nothing has really changed in over a year, despite my efforts.

Hi there!
Jo here, from the Moz Support team.
Updated for 2021 Spam Score --
It's worth noting that a score of 1%-30% is considered a Low Spam Score, a score of 31%-60% is considered a Medium Spam Score, a score of 61%-100% is considered a High Spam Score.
Moz's Spam Score is the percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google (it's not based on the spam score of the sites linking to you). To improve this score I would recommend reading our guide which explains the 27 factors used to make up this score. You can then look at your site and investigate areas you would like to improve on your site:
https://mza.bundledseo.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-scoreDisavowing or removing links is not a method for improving your Moz Spam Score. We don't have a way to identify links you've disavowed. Google doesn't make this information available through their Search Console API. Spam Score is percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google.
Cheers,
Jo

Other websites copy content and giving a link back
Hi, I've just noticed a few back links in Google Search Console, I was excited. But when I saw the backlinks, 2 other websites that had completely copied my content and then gave a backlink to my website. Is this bad for SEO and would google penalise my website for this?

What are he benefits of getting 200+ links from DA 40+ non-relevant websites?
I have a client who has an opportunity to sponsor a prestigious national organisation. In return, they will get 200+ links from the websites of the organisation's members. Most of which are DA 40+.None of the linking sites have any relevance to my client's industry.1) How likely do you think it is that Google will view these as paid links?2) Do you feel that there is potential harm in gaining this many non-relevant links in a short time-frame?3) The client wants me to quantify the ranking benefits of gaining these links and calculate a potential ROI. If that's even possible, how would you go about that? Thanks in advance

Are Links/Resources pages considered spam?
I'm dabbling with link building in a non link-happy industry, traffic safety (IE Traffic cones, barricades, safety vests, etc...). We currently are doing #RCS in terms of giveaways for college students as well as discounts in a wider EDU Outreach campaign as well as legitimate guest posting. I have started to use Link Prospector, and got a list of links/resources pages that we can get info from. I found some great links through here, including ways to get links from higher-profile .gov domains, but was wondering if it is worth it to go after the high(er) quality links/resources pages. By higher quality, I usually set a floor of a DA 25-30 and have a limited amount of external links per page. These would be for branded keywords (IE the company name/domain) and not exact match anchor text. I'd really like to see how other SEOs feel about this. Can I Gather Inbound Links from Different Subject External Websites?
I am working on link building campaign and trying to gather inbound links from various subject external websites. I have big confusion with this effort. I am working on eCommerce website and getting inbound links from technology related website. So, Does it really matter for better performance? I want to give one example to get more idea. I am selling table lamps on my website and trying to get inbound links from that kind of websites which are highly dominating to table lamps or lighting industry. But, This is not only one case. Sometime, I have opportunities to create inbound links from different subject website. Simply, If I will compile one content for UGC section on SEOmoz and links to my website with table lamps so, Will it help me to rank for table lamps keyword? Exact match hyperlinks on external website always matter::: That I aware about it. But, what about subject orientation. I am Table Lamps monster & you are SEO monster. So, Will Google give benefit to that kind of links which are dominating different subject? I have solved some issues about quality of website after installing SEOmoz toolbar in my browser. Because, I or We are visiting multiple websites during daily stuff and may find out opportunities to drop our website link over there. But, I have fear to drop my website link in any website. Does it really matter quality or website & How can I judge it better rather than SEOmoz toolbar? I have added such a big question with proper declaration but, I want to jump in to link building campaign and want to earn good value after my long term effort.
