Two things to think about with SSL.

How users perceive the site. I personally take less advice from sites with no SSL. Mostly because, to me, it's a sign they aren't up to date. But also, it can deter certain people from making purchases and subscribing to your list without it.
There is "technically" a slowing down of the site with SSL, but with proper installation and configuration it's not much. There is encrypting/decrypting overhead when the site uses SSL. The word "slower" doesn't mean snails pace. It is usually a few milliseconds difference if configured correctly.
Simply adding an SSL cert isn't enough. It is technically a site change and you'll need to do some things to inform Google that the site has change. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing the upgrade to HTTPS during a time the site doesn't have much traffic. It can take a few weeks to implement correctly in the SERPs. SEO and auto login with redirect
Hi, we have a site where user we know (cookie-based) is automatic redirected to private internal page. Unknown guests are staying on the page google search sent them. The redirect is done with a 302 to the private page. When I examine organic search and landing pages in analytics I see that more than 50% of the landing pages are private pages (inaccessible for the google-bot). This is because analytics does not register the redirecting page, just the target page. Is this harmful to SEO that so many users are redirected to other pages, or is this data not available to google-bot. The google bots is not redirect since they do not have the correct credentials. Do chrome or analytics send such data back to Google search? Is better to manipulate analytics page track call to use the address of the redirecting page? Or maybe skip to redirect, and just render the private content on the orginal page?

I have a client who has 750 agents. They want to provide them all with a website on a subdomain (mysite.domain.com). The sites will all contain basically the same info, however, this info can be customized on each site by each rep. Does Google Analytics' Enhanced Link Attribution cause any SEO problems?
We are looking to implement Google Analytics Enhanced Link Attribution on our site. Our tech person says that this will cause SEO problems because of "duplicate URLS." I am not technical, so I don't understand this at all and can't find any research on the topic. Is there an SEO penalty for text that appears only in a pop-up box when you hover the mouse over an icon?
A client of mine wants to streamline the look of his web pages, taking some of the visible body copy and putting it into boxes that pop up when you hover the mouse over an icon. My understanding is that search engines will index this pop-up text. However, do they penalize pages that have text in pop-up boxes out of concern that those pages are spammy? In this case, the text and the page are perfectly legitimate e-commerce pages. Thanks for any insights you can offer.
