Site Explorer shows links as followable but they have nofollow tags
-
Hello,
I am looking at site explorer and sites linking to my site moneyfact.co.uk.
I've got thousands of links showing as 'followable' but when i check them they have rel="nofollow" tags.
e.g:
Why would they show as followable when the links are nofollowed?
Thanks
Steve

Hello Chiaryn,
I have just checked again and the nofollow links still show up as followed in site explorer. Could you have a look at why this is happening please?
Kind regards

Thanks for the reply Chiaryn. These links were changed from followable (is that even a word?) to nofollow so that data rollback may be the issue. I'll check again on Thursday.
Thanks

Hey Steve,
Thanks for writing in and sorry the data is looking off in OSE. Our index is currently showing data that was collected prior to March 19th, so it may be that dianomioffers.co.uk made changes to the links since we collected data for the index. Unfortunately, this issue is a bit difficult to troubleshoot because I can only see how the links are currently formatted on the site and I the only reference I have to how the links were formatted previously would be what we are showing in the index. We did previously have an index out that was released on March 29th, but due to some data retention issues, we had to role back to the older index. We are expecting to update back to the more current release by Thursday, so you may want to check again and see if the information for these links has been updated in the more current version of the index.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Interesting you mention this as I've just experienced the very same thing.

Finding a list of all inbound links
Hello. I just used Open Site Explorer to find inbound links to a site. But it does not seem to list all inbound links. I will be changing a lot of urls on the site, and I would like to put in 301 redirects only for the pages that have links to them. Is there a way to find all inbound links and the specific pages they link to? Thank you!

MozRank in Open Site Explorer?
Hi, I wondered why mozRank is not showing in OSE? As this is the "equivalent" of Google's page rank? Thanks

No follow link
Hi There, We pay for our site (www.residentialland.com) to appear on a popular property site: http://www.homesandproperty.co.uk/ When I use Open Site Explorer, it is our top link, but it has 'no follow' above it. So I had a look at the source code on the homesandproperty website and I cant see any nofollow code that would effect our link. I also used this tool which confirmed it isnt classed as a no follow link: http://www.seorankings.com/tools/nofollow-link-checker Can anyone else tell me if our paid for link on homesandproperty is a no follow, or if it is 'search engine friendly' so to speak? We pay for links across their site, so we want to get the full benefit. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Rob

Is there any alternatives to Yahoo Site Explorer?
Hi, Is there any alternatives to Yahoo Site Explorer? I want to find backlinks of some unavailable pages and YSE was a great tool to deal with. But when I used tools like Open Site Explorer, ahrefs.com etc., I couldn't find one same like YSE. Because when I tried, it shows'No data available for this URL' where on YSE I found inbound links. What Alternatives Are There? thanks in advance!

OpenSiteExplorer is not seeing all my inbound links
I know I have back links to my site from about 5 or 6 websites and most of them even show in my Google webmaster account but according to OSE I only have 1 inbound link. Is it normal for the OSE stats to be wrong? I really want to use it but am worried the info isn't going to be accurate.

Inbound links
Hi all, I was working on some monthly SEO reports and I noticed that the number of inbound links was a lot less compared to last month. I measured these number of inbound links with the mozBar, e.g. May 2011 - 49.306, June 2011 - 10.659, July 2011 - 1.010 Do you have any idea how this could be possible? I'm really looking forward to your answers! Thanks all!

What is this? it says I only have 3 of them for the specific term / subpage I am going after. In addition what does Linking Root Domains mean in my report? Thanks much!
