Product Review Permissions
-
Hello,
In the past, a client has gotten a lot of emails from customers saying that they like specific products.
Now he needs reviews.
Can we use those old emails, with no name or maybe with initials as product reviews?
We don't want to do anything unethical.
-
I agree with Mike. Letting a customer know you are choosing their review to be posted on your site generally gives a good sentiment to the customer.
You benefit in both ways, creating a good relationship with your customer(more WOM referrals) and giving your site a legitimate review.
-
I would suggest contacting the customers as a common curtsey. We do customer quotes, but we pull them from success stories, which the customer knows we will be publishing already. While the customer did send you an email with a review or quote, they probably didn't know you would be making their comment public.
I personally would feel better asking the customer, even if you don't plan on using their name or initials, it would still be good. Also, I think if when you contact them you ask if you can use their name, that would be good. I think seeing a name associated with a quote gives it a little more oomph and shows that you aren't just make up quotes.
Just my thoughts.
Mike

How to deal with product mark up automatically generated by Yoast?
Let's assume there's a website for nursery. Now they have listed plants and trees as their product now yoast is generating product structured data because of that search console is reporting errors in markup says "Either "offers", "review", or "aggregateRating" should be specified" Reviews can be fixed because of genuine reviews and ratings but trees doesn't have sku, gtin8, gtin13, gtin14 or mpn" so we can't add this information. Because of this every product listing shows an error in structured data. What's the possible fix to get rid of these errors? **Note: I tried using snip to override Yoast Schema but using another plugin is not the first choice. **

[SEO] Star Ratings -> Review -> Category Page
Hello there, Basically, if you put non-natural star ratings on the category page, like in the attached images, you will get manual ban from google right?
White Hat / Black Hat SEO | | Shanaki
(i know it for sure, cause I had clients with this situation) The real question is:
If I put a form that allows users to write a review about the category products on the category page, for REAL, will google still ban? Any advice? Any example? With respect,

New Service/Product SEO and rankings
Hello, fellow MOZers. We are a web design company, and we had SEO as secondary service for years. Due to changes in the company we started pushing SEO as one of our main services about 6 monhs ago. We have separate page , targeting that service, as well as case studies, supportive information pages, even SEO Center, which is like a blog about SEO only. We are not using black hat SEO, doing honest link earning and building, don't use keyword stuffing, everything is by the book. I understand that SEO takes time, especially for a company which has a footprint as web design company, not as SEO company. We are ranking very good for web design related keyphrases, however, we don't see any improvements for SEO related keywords. It always was and is between 25-30 SERP. At the same time, competitors, who are ranking on first page for SEO related phrases are pretty bad looking. Design-wise as well as blackhat-SEO-wise. Everything is keyword stuffed, UX is horrible, prices are ridiculous. So, do you guys have any thought/advise on how we can see results / why we are not seeing results. Seo back linking proposal review
Hi guys, below is a proposal i received from someone on freelancer.com for some seo building. Is this really all it takes? Obviously done overtime but basically is this it aside from the usual basics onsite keywords, urls, artciles, content etc. This is a the proposal for $250 (some are cheaper but almost the same details as below). This is one of the top seo people on freelancers.com and they all have good reviews. Is this basically it? Shell out $100 bucks or more a month to someone who will just post stuff all over the internet. It just seems all very simple, what is $100 bucks a month to stay at #1. Is there any real questions i should ask to make sure i am not just throwing my money away? I would like to recommend the following services for attaining better search results for the website. 1)Press Release Submissions

Blogger Reviews w/ Links - Considered a Paid Link?
As part of my daily routine, I checked out inbound.org and stumbled upon an article about Grey Hat SEO techniques. One of the techniques mentioned was sending product to a blogger for review. My question is whether these types of links are really considered paid links. Why shouldn't an e-commerce company evangelize its product by sending to bloggers whose readership is the demographic the company is trying to target? In pre e-commerce marketing, it was very typical for a start-up company to send samples for review. Additionally, as far as flow of commerce is concerned, it makes sense for a product review to direct the reader to the company, whether by including a contact phone number, a mailing address, or in today's e-commerce world, a link to their website. I understand the gaming potential here (as with most SEO techniques, black-hat is usually an extreme implementation), but backlinks from honest product reviews shouldn't have a tinge of black, thus keeping it white-hat. Am I wrong here? Are these types of links really grey? Any help or insight is much appreciated!

Same template site same products but different content?
for the sake of this post I am selling lighters. I have 3 domains small-lighters.com medium-lighter.com large-lighters.com On all of the websites I have the same template same images etc and same products. The only difference is the way the content is worded described etc different bullet points. My domains are all strong keyword domains not spammy and bring in type in traffic. Is it ok to continue in this manner in your opinion?

Are paid reviews gray/black hat?
Are sites like ReviewMe or PayPerPost white hat? Are follow links allowed within the post? Should I use those aforementioned services, or cold contact high authority sites within my niche?
