How to link Analytics to Webmaster Tools at the profile level?
-
What do you do when you have a few profiles under one property in analytics (for subdomains etc) but you want to link each one of them to webmaster tools? Far as I know, you can only link them at the property level.
Thanks!

Thanks Mike! I was afraid so.

I wouldn't expect UA to be the catalyst for having this behavior changed in the future (based on what I know about how Google separates data amongst property/profile - those concepts aren't changing in UA).
This isn't possible, and I've heard no whispers of it being in the works.

I am really hoping I'm wrong. It stinks that we get to do all of this cross-domain tracking, different configurations and such so we can set up different profiles, but then we can't actually set the profile to the right domain.
Anyone know if this could be a Universal Analytics bonus feature?

I stand corrected i was looking at property not profile

Hi Dan,
From my experiences also, you can't set the association at the profile level. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1120006
It would be a great feature to add, and if it does exist, I'm all in.

You can connect different properties to different webmaster tools accounts - Just go into each profile in analytics and under search engine optimization link them to different webmaster accounts
- i have one property for the blog and one for the main site

Phantom search results showing up in analytics
Hi, I'm getting these weird phantom search results showing up in my analytics account which is skewing my results. I have a wordpress site, and I do have some custom search results pages, but analytics is telling me these hits are coming from google- which I doubt. The end of the query string (&cat=plus-5-results) is not coming from a link created within my site. Anyone have any ideas? Failing that, would somebody be kind enough to explain how I can ignore these hits, but retain other, valid search result requests? Thanks reading! Will Screenshot%202019-05-16%20at%2022.32.10.jpg

How do you setup a test analytics account?
I have created a test view but that is not helping with skewed data. Do you all just create a total separate profile with a different GA account for a non-indexed domain? How can I test tag manager and other things without messing with our data? I have our IP filtered out so it doesn't show up in reports but other event tags from outsiders will.

Links from PA/DA of 1
My immediate thought is that a link from a website that has a PA/DA of 1 for both or either metric would be absolutely worthless, but I just wanted to make sure. Could this also be from it being recently indexed? Also is there a rule of thumb that anybody knows, or tries to follow at least? Obliviously the higher the better, but for example; A PA/DA of 15 and below is SPAM A PA/DA of 30 and above is GOOD A PA/DA of 50 is GREAT PA/DA of 80 is AMAZING PA/DA of 100 is GODTIER

Strange Traffic Spike In Google Analytics
Over the last two days I have seen a huge spike in the pageviews to my site www.learnbonds.com. Up to this point my average page views per visit has been less than 2. For the last couple of days it has jumped to 5 but the average time on the site has not increased. Upon further investigation under the browser and OS page of google analytics I found that traffic coming from internet explorer and IE with Chrome Frame is reporting 10+ pageviews per visit. Below is a screenshot. Any insight into what might be causing this and how to fix it that the community can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

How do I set a filter in Google Analytics?
I want to filter out direct traffic from the service provider msn. For some reason they are crawling our traffic and its throwing off my data. So I want to exclude direct, but only from msn. Would I set my first filter for direct then msn or vice versa? Thanks

Google Analytics: Multi channel funnel
Hi 🙂 I have a little problem. In Multi-channel Funnel Overview I see 50 conversions from Paid Search (screenshot 1). But when I click on Assisted Conversion and then choose Paid Search, I see 31 Assisted Conversions and 32 Last Interaction Conversion. (screenshot 2) So my question is - why the number of converstions in overview (50) is different than number in Assisted Conversions (assisted or last interaction conversion, or both together)? Probably, the answer is so simply, but I can found out it! 🙂 thanks a lot. X6UihL7.png lCNsw4T.png

Mobile Site on Google Analytics
Hi mozzers, We just launched a mobile site and I was wondering what are the main steps to follow for gettting your mobile site tracked via GA (m.example.com)? We have a profile for www.example.com GATC: javascript or PHP to install? Should the profile be on a subdomain? What else to consider when implementing a mobile site on GA? Thanks

Google Analytics & Omniture Discrepancies
I am seeing a significant difference between my traffic numbers in Google Analytics and Omniture (Omniture has significantly more). I do not expect them to report exactly the same numbers but these are just too far off. Any idea why that is, or which one I should trust more? Thanks!
