How do a run a MOZ crawl of my site before waiting for the scheduled weekly crawl?
-
Greetings:
I have just updated my site and would like to run a crawl immediately. How can I do so before waiting for the next MOZ crawl?
Thanks,

Hey Alan,
Thanks for the question! You can use the crawl test if you are between scheduled crawls, but if you run test within a few days of a scheduled crawl you may end up with cached information. You shouldn't run the crawl test on a regular basis, but its fine to do every once and a while.

I love the screaming frog tool that Matt recommended but we do have a crawl tester here on moz.com
http://pro.moz.com/tools/crawl-test
You can perform the crawl up to twice per day. It will tell you that you'll get results within 24 hours but I've never had it take more then 4 hours for a regular sized site.
Hope this helps.
Darin.

What kind of info are you looking for the crawl to provide? Moz will do a quick crawl and then a detailed crawl within a week. However, there are other things you can use.
EDIT: You can use the Moz tool - http://pro.moz.com/tools/crawl-testOne of the best on the market is Screaming Frog Spider. You can do so many things with it. There is a great post over at SEER Interactive on things to do with it:

Moz Crawl Test: WordPress sites with and without /feed and /trackback entires?
I have multiple WP websites and on some of the websites, on my Moz Crawl test, I see an entry for every blog post but also entries for /feed and /trackback for that single blog post. For example, www...com/someArticle www....com/someArticle/feed www...com/someArticle/trackback 1. Can anyone explain why the Crawl test is picking up the /feed and /trackback items? Is it simply because they are 301 redirects to the original post (www...com/someArticle)? 2. What setting(s) in WordPress are making this information appear? Or is it just that the site(s) that have the /feed and /trackback are displaying "normal" behavior for a WP site with a lot of trackbacks and feed entires? 3. Should /fee and /trackback, as well as /author be blocked in robots.txt? Thanks in advance for your advice and input!

Since July 1, we've had a HUGE jump in errors on our weekly crawl. We don't think anything has changed on our website. Has MOZ changed something that would account for a large leap in duplicate content and duplicate title errors?
Our error report went from 1,900 to 18,000 in one swoop, starting right around the first of July. The errors are duplicate content and duplicate title, as if it does not see our 301 redirects. Any insights?

Unable to crawl pages
Hi, I am trying to set up a campaign for our website - www.salvationarmy.org.au however, I can't seem to get a scan of more than three pages. I have tried the following: www.salvationarmy.org.au (only 2 pages) www.salvationarmy.org.au/home (only 1 page) salvationarmy.org.au (only 3 pages) There is a geo IP redirect on www.salvationarmy.org.au but the second domain listed above should resolve the full site. I'm a newbie to SEOmoz so any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mel

Can I see when SEO Moz has crawled my website?
I would like to know if it's possible to see (maybe in my Google Analytics) if SEO Moz has crawled my website. I'm also curious if and where I can see when the robot of Google visited my website. Thanks!

Drop in number of Pages crawled by Moz crawler
What would cause a sudden drop in the number of pages crawled/accessed by the Moz crawler? The site has about 600 pages of content. We have multiple campaigns set up in our Pro account to track different keyword campaigns- but all for the same domain. Some show 600+ pages accessed, while others only access 7 pages for the same domain. What could be causing these issues?

How to Use Open Site Explorer
I've used Open Site Explorer here at SEOmoz for the first time and I'm confused by the results. I'm wondering how dated the results are? And, what are they based on? For example, I'm certain my facebook shares and like are higher...same with the twitter links. It seems kind of old?! One of my competitors who gets about 2x more traffic than me DOES have great backlinks. I know that. BUT, it's odd that her facebook and twitter results are what they are compared to mine - they're WAY higher in site explorer AND her links seem on par with her facebook page whereas mine don't. Whereas mine seem WAy Way lower than what they are in reality. She barely tweets and facebooks any more. Maybe once per month. She started out gangbusters, but doesn't do it much any more. That's kinda why I'm wondering if it's based on older stuff and not updated often? Anyone know?
