Is it possible to get demographic and interest information from DoubleClick cookies?
-
We use Google Analytics and we are currently extracting information from the Google Analytics cookies about our visitors.
Is it possible to access DoubleClick cookies in a similiar fashion and get some demographic/interest information for each visitor to our website (if they have a DoubleClick cookie set)? If so, any information on how to retrieve it would be very appreciated.

I wanted to get this information on my server by parsing out the double click cookie using javascript. Is this possible?

I believe this is exactly what I was looking for. I will test it out this week.
Thank you very much Paul!

This functionality was built directly into Google Analytics back in October, William. By changing a line in your on-page tracking code to use the Doubleclick js instead of the regular ga.js, you can pull the demo/interest info into your Google Analytics automatically.
You change this line...
ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
to this...
ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://' : 'http://') + 'stats.g.doubleclick.net/dc.js';
A couple of things to note:
- the biggie! This functionality is only available in the classic Analytics. It hasn't yet been enabled in Universal Analytics, so if you want to use it, you'll need to stick with the classic version.
- you must also modify your site's Privacy Policy to indicate how this additional data will be used
- you'll need to turn on Enable Demographics and Interest Reports in Property Settings
- this change will also allow you to create and collect data for Remarketing campaigns
Once you've made the above changes, you should go to Audience > Demographics > Age to validate the code and confirm that the change has been successful.
That what you were looking for?

No matter what we seem to do, we can never get higher up on Googles ranks. What gives?
We are in independent car dealer in a small(ish) town in Arkansas. No matter what we do, we can never seem to get past the second or third page on Google's ranks. We have a blog, we pay for SEO help from dealer vendors, we have consistent information on our site, etc. etc. . I'm at a loss. I don't know what else to do. Based on our Moz Site Crawl report, we have 185 pages that have duplicate content. However, these are pages that publish our auto check reports for inventory that potential customers request from our site. I guess these auto check reports expire because when I click on the link from the Moz report it says it can no longer be displayed and to contact the dealer (http://www.rathautoresources.com/autocheck.aspx?vin=1C6RR7KT4DS539140)

Possible penalty question - need expert help
hallo everyone, I am posting this question to the MOZ community, because I could not find any useful information or proper advice so far, even after consulting a few local SEO experts. I noticed from the end of september a steady and consistent decrease in visits (please see attached pdf) for my website https://bastabollette.it I lost so far almost 40%. Please consider that I have not changed my habits in blog posting lately, both in quantity and quality. I have not made any subtantial change on the website lately. I did a general audit of the site asking to an expert but apart from some generic suggestions (like: "work on increasing PR, add more quality backliks, use more no-follow links, fix broken links" - things I am currently going to fix anyway) I don't really understand the reason of the drop. Please also note the strange drop of 11/22/15 (see search console screenshot). Can you please help me? thank you. Selezione_018.jpg Selezione_019.jpg

Is it possible to import data from an old Google Analytics profile to a new Google Analytics profile?
We have encountered a situation where a client's old SEO firm is refusing to grant us Admin access to our client's existing GA account. For security purposes (so the other SEO firm doesn't delete the existing GA profile) we have started a new Google Analytics profile. Again we do have access to the data in the old account. Is it possible to migrate this old data over (if we just have user access)? Thanks for the help

I am showing no (not provided) visits in GA. Is that possible?
When reviewing Organic search traffic on my site, there no (not provided) visits. Not one. I searched for the term while viewing all keyword visits and still nothing! I find that hard to believe that is possible with 6,000 monthly visits. Is something wrong? Help?!
