Google AdWords Grant Samples?
-
Can anyone direct us to an actual sample of the 500 word essay required and a list of all the documents required once the client is accepted as a Google for nonprofit community member?
Thanks, Jim
-
I submitted one several years ago, and it seemed Google really wants to hear about your non-profit and why it should have the grant status, rather than have a modified form letter.
-
Hey Jim, Apologies on not getting back to you quicker!
Unfortunately, I think that those are very confidential internal documents for those nonprofits. I work agency side and I haven't even seen them for my nonprofit clients.
As far as paperwork after the application process - I don't think there is anything necessary. I think the application process is all the proof they need, they verify you with the IRS (please review the link at the bottom of Khem's reply), then they create a google grant account for you.
-
I don't think you need anything else if you've got your Google grant account approved.
Otherwise, first get your 501(c)(3) status
and here are some other helpful points for specific sections of the application:
**_URL of website: _**Enter the website you'd like to advertise in your AdWords account. This website may differ from the domain of your organization, depending on the program or initiative you wish to promote.
Organization Mission Statement / Primary Objective: What is the story you'd like to share with the world? What distinguishes you from other non-profits in your field? Since ad text is limited to 3 lines, what language would attract users to your website? This information will also help you brainstorm about creating your ad.
Explain how you expect Google AdWords advertising will contribute to your organization_:_Discuss your mission and goals in terms of online advertising. Which initiatives or programs would you advertise online? Other than an increase in donations and website traffic, what would you like to gain from this award? What action would you like users to take when they reach your website? For example, do you offer volunteer or newsletter sign-ups? Do you sponsor or run events to benefit your organization? Tell us what you wish to accomplish from a click on your ad!
**_Who is your target audience for online advertising?: _**If possible, include the location of your target audience. You can target users both around the world and in a specific geographic region. If your non-profit operates locally, tell us where, and perhaps the surrounding areas that may benefit from your mission and services.
Once you submit your application, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail from our team. It usually takes 3 to 4 months for us to review and process applications.
Hope this helps. Besides, you can also http://groups.google.com/group/googlegrants-help-application/browse_thread/thread/45a13575943e00fe/e650c22ed066e49c?lnk=st&q=#e650c22ed066e49c for more details

How to make google crawl our repository to make our site rank but make sure users dont go to our repository ?
We have a website that has links to documents related to various sectors. But the challenge is we do not have the documents on the website itself and they are linked to our document repository that has been blocked to google. We have put nofollow and noindex to the repository. Since Google can not read those documents, it has resulted in an impact in our SEO ranking. What would be the best way to make Google crawl the PDF documents in the repository at the same time make it invisible the "repo" not appear in the search engines. Would dofollow and noindex sequence work ?

Google Analytics setup tips and tricks?
I want to see (and possibly compile) other marketers tips and tricks when it came to setting up their Google Analytics. I feel like I sometimes get into a rut when I setup GA for clients and I want to make sure that I'm not getting rusty with it. Some of the things I'm interested in (but not limited to): How do you use dashboards? What funnels do you setup? How do you utilize goals? What are your favorite metrics to report to clients? What are the top items on your checklist when setting up GA? And many others I could include here... I'd be interested in seeing what other marketers include in their GA setup and reporting. These can be super simple or expert level tips and tricks. It's a personal curiosity I have so that I make sure I'm staying up to date with everything but if there is enough participation I will compile everything into a YouMoz post or something as a guide for us to use and share. So please share this question with others if you can. Thanks!

Wrong Descriptions for Title's on Google SERP?
I put descriptions in for each of my product categories a couple months ago and a few of my category pages rank high. The problem is that most of my category pages have the wrong meta description on the SERP. The descriptions that are shown sometimes have the home page description, which isn't a big deal, but some have descriptions of different products and most have descriptions of sub categories. Below is an example of a subcategory description (specialty feeders) for a main category: Co-matic Power Feeders - Products - Shop Gear Inc www.shopgearinc.com/products/co-matic-power-feeders/Specialty Feeders. Specialty Co-matic feeders are built for use on a variety of machines and for specific operations. Shop Gear supplies a variety of specialty **...****Any Suggestions?**Thanks
