Better modern-day-alternative to B2B email newsletter?
-
Hello!
I'm looking for a cool solution to a seemingly outdated concept and hope you can help. Here's the situation...
Our sales team would like to develop a new email newsletter that can be sent to prospects and clients quarterly. From my perspective, I would rather see them develop content for our website than for an email newsletter (which will disappear into the abyss).
Does anyone have an example of something that's a collection of facts, news, tidbits, etc., packaged for a website article as opposed to an email newsletter? I know I've seen people mention "daily digest" or "weekly digest" that are promoted via personalized emails or on twitter and the like, but can't find an example now.
Once this content-rich feature is developed for our website, the sales person could then draft a personalized message to either a prospect or client and tell them about it. Much more personal than an impersonal email newsletter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Erik

In case anyone stumbles upon this in the future, I just remembered the source I couldn't recall when I first posted this... paper.li
Still open to other suggestions if anyone has one.

Writing <200 word pieces of content in a 7.5 hour day
My employer has a content writer who is currently working on writing unique descriptions for many pages, on the order of around 150-200 words per piece of content. A recurring theme in this content is to write a list of features such as "it does X, X, X, X, X and X", which can sometimes happen a couple of times during the content and takes up a decent chunk of wording. This content does not require in-depth research over and above reading the about us page of some sites and looking at what services they provide, as well as some quick details like their payment and delivery methods etc. As well as that the writer also writes the Meta Description and then uploads these to a CMS. There are no other tasks. Considering the writer is doing this 5 days a week, 7.5 hours a day, and isn't getting paid a poor or trainee-type wage, what would you say would be an acceptable amount to achieve on the average day? The current average works out to around, or slightly less than 8 of these pieces of content each day. Thoughts?

B2b services site, deep long tail services or flat and broad
Hi all, i have a small internet agency with services in several area's.
Content Development | | mdkay
Currently i structud my services in 2 different area's.
General services and specialized products with services underneath. like so:
domain.com/services
domain.com/services/service1
domain.com/services/service2
and so on. domain.com/product
domain.com/product/service1
domain.com/product/service2 domain.com/product2
domain.com/product2/service1
domain.com/product2/service2 But now im thinking of create loads of different services i provide,
there are some overlapping content of course, but all services are still individual.
But i can write a lot of unique content about all the services. But is it smarter to make just a few big pages with the services more bundled.
Or really long tail. Now i have around 15 services pages.
when i make it a lot deeper im talking about 40 pages. Currently my complete website is around 35 pages.0 -
Is there an upper bound on the number of links an url might get in a day?
There are link spammers and programs like GSA and others, that automate linkbuilding, and I was wondering if anybody ever had a penalty because a page on his site is getting too many references (links). I am not talking about spamming here. So provided that the links are coming from relevant, unique sources, but you do an over excessive campaign, and you seem to be getting too many backlinks, can it negatively affect SEO? Alternatively: is there an upper bound on the number of links you try to build in a day when you are doing linkbuilding?

Looking for a content marketing agency alternative to Brafton.
We've worked with Brafton for a while now and aren't happy with their service. So we're looking for an alternative content marketing agency not a digital marketing agency. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Is joomla better than wordpress let me know your thoughts
Hi, i am wondering if wordpress is better than joomla. We have been having a talk and been wondering if our main site www.in2town.co.uk should stay in joomla or if we should think about moving it over to wordpress. I would like to hear what people think, if wordpress is better than joomla for a magazine or if we should stick with joomla and forget about moving over to wordpress. It would be great to hear people's opinion and maybe some examples of popular magazines or newspaper sites that are using wordpress instead of joomla. It would also be interesting to know how hard or how easy it is to move across to wordpress from joomla. Would value your thoughts on this issue and find out which is better for seo. many thanks
