Why can't On-Page Grader grade any Hilton hotel URLs?
-
I'm receiving the "Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible." for every hilton hotel webpage I check when using On-Page Grader.
Is Hilton blocking Moz's On-Page Grader or is something else going on?
Here are a few "inaccessible URLs" from different brands within Hilton's portfolio:
- http://home2suites3.hilton.com/en/hotels/tennessee/home2-suites-by-hilton-nashville-vanderbilt-tn-BNAHTHT/index.html
- http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/florida/hampton-inn-and-suites-destin-DSINEHX/index.html
- http://hiltongardeninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/georgia/hilton-garden-inn-atlanta-downtown-ATLDOGI/index.html
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the suggestion. There weren't any spaces before or after to cause the error. I believe the issue was related to a java update. I was able to run OPG from another machine after installing a Java update. I can't update the java on the machine I was using for testing that night as some of the applications and systems I need to access require a specific version of Java. Since that night I have been able to run OPG without issue.

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out. My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. I appologize for any confusion here.
The issue isn't with Hilton's site, this is just a formatting hiccup. When you're running a report with On-Page, double check and make sure that there aren't any spaces before or after the URL. If there's a space anywhere, you'll get this error (http://screencast.com/t/h0jCtGIj). Once you delete any spaces, you should be all set (http://screencast.com/t/ClNvuyPL3Xjw)!
I hope this helps, and if you have any questions email us at [email protected]!
Cheers,
Erin

Is MOZ any good to analyze an e-commerce site? How come that a cms page can be seen as duplicate content with a category page?
Hi Guys, I've been using Moz for quite a long time now for 2 of my shops. Now I am in the process of launching the second shop and I just don't understand how is it possible that a cms static page (About US) to be seen as a duplicate content with other 96 pages - including product pages and other totally different pages such as delivery information, category pages, returns and so on. Really MOZ?? Is it me or you?? Your help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Moz is reporting weird email address URLs as 'Meta refresh' errors? Anything to worry about?
Under site crawl, Moz is reporting weird email address URLs as 'Meta refresh' errors. The URLs are: http://[email protected] and http://[email protected] Once clicked, they redirect to our homepage. Anyone else ever had this? Is it anything to worry about? I don't think it is, but would be good to get some reassurance.

"Keywords Showing" total doesn't match "Tracked Keywords" total
My "Tracked Keywords" total under "Add & Manage Keywords" does not match the total for "Keywords Showing" on the main "Rankings" tab. Why is there a difference? For example, I have 453 tracked keywords attached to my campaign, but under the "Tracked Keywords Overview," there are only 254 listed. I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I can't find it anywhere!

Optimise your Pages in Moz Crawl - where do the keywords come from?
I am just going through my first Crawl stats from the MOZ analytics Under the pages to optimise section I have pages that I have optimised for my best keyword with an A grade that are showing as an F grade and suggesting a different keyword? Where is this keyword coming from? I am assuming that my page has been analysed and a better keyword has been recommended? Can anyone advise? Thanks Roger

How does an index page have a higher Authority than the root domain?
So just curious, but on my domain, http://www.bulwarkpestcontrol.com the Page Authority is 59 and the root domain authority 52. That seems odd as it is the same page. Explanation?

Ajax #! URL support?
Hi Moz, My site is currently following the convention outlined here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/174992?hl=en Basically since pages are generated via Ajax we are setup to direct bots that replace the #! in a url with ?escaped_fragment to cached versions of the ajax generated content. For example, if the bot sees this url: http://www.discoverymap.com/#!/California/Map-of-Carmel/73 it will replace it will instead access the page: http://www.discoverymap.com/?escaped_fragment=/California/Map-of-Carmel/73 In which case my server serves the cached html instead of the live page. This is all per Googles direction and is indexing fine. However the MOZ bot does not do this. It seems like a fairly straight-forward feature to support. Rather than ignoring the hash, you look to see if it is a #! and then try to spider the url replaced with ?escaped_fragment. Our server does the rest. If this is something MOZ plans on supporting in the future I would love to know. If there is other information that would be great. Also, pushstate is not practical for everyone due to limited browser support, etc. Thanks, Dustin Updates: I am editing my question because it won't let me respond to my own question. It says I need to sign up for MOZ analytics. I was signed up for Moz Analytics?! Now I am not? I responded to my invitation weeks ago? Anyway, you are misunderstanding how this process works. There is no site-map involved. The bot reads this URL on the page: http://www.discoverymap.com/#!/California/Map-of-Carmel/73 And when it is ready to spider the page for content it, it spider's this URL instead: http://www.discoverymap.com/?escaped_fragment=/California/Map-of-Carmel/73 The server does the rest, it is simply telling Roger to recognize the #! format and replace it with ?escaped_fragment Though I obviously do not know how Roger is coded but it is a simple string replacement. Thanks.
