I'm New To Moz What To Focus On First
-
Hello,
Recently signed up to MOZ for the sites we operate in the UK.
I wondered what folks would recommend I focus on first when starting to use MOZ for the first time for sites SEO?
Cheers
Stuart

Welcome. One thing I find really useful is the "Email Updates" button here on the Q&A posts. When I find a question I am interested in learning more about, I can click the "Email Updates" and then I will receive responses to the question via email. It's a great way to follow the topics you are curious about and tap into some of the expert knowledge here.

One thing to consider, is that if you're after LOCAL SEO, then you're going to be in that MOZ area, while if you're after regional or national or global SEO rankings, you'd be in a diff area here....
Both are similar but different. Both require a ton of work....but MOZ captures the methodology for both!

Hi Stewart, welcome to Moz! Donna and Pixelbypixel pointed to you to some great resources for getting started in SEO (if you are indeed new to both Moz and SEO). To get started with Moz Analytics, I'd recommend checking out this Help Guide. It will walk you through your first campaign setup.
You will find answers to the most common questions about Moz Analytics in the Help Hub. You can search both the Help Hub and Q&A Forum from there. If you get stuck, please do not hesitate to reach out to the community here in Q&A.
Great question!

Welcome to Moz,
Some great things I recommend are on this page - http://moz.com/learn/seo
including the fantastic http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo
Don't forget to check on the blog for some nice things each day http://moz.com/blog
finally get stuck in, the Q&A section has a really nice community not forgetting all the history (via search) of things you can learn.
Hope you find everything you need and have fun too
and finally stay TAGFEE

Hi Urban33,
If you're new to Moz and SEO start with http://moz.com/learn/seo. SEO is about a whole bunch of things that add up, not one small trick or tactic that skyrockets you to the top of search results quickly. Then I'd plug your own website into a MozPro Campaign. It's a great way to learn about the tools as it's likely the site you know best. Third, I'd monitor this forum. You'll not only learn a lot of the subtleties of SEO, you'll learn about the community and how we help one another.
Welcome!

Rel="canonical" tag is implemented in my product pages, but still getting canoncal error for products in Moz. What is the problem? me or MOZ?
I have included the rel="canonical" tag in all my product pages, but still getting canonical error in MOZ reports for more than 6 month ! I would like to know if my code is wrong or the MOZ report system is not working properly. Here is an example of my canonical code in line 84 rel="canonical" href="http://www.doornmore.com/slab-single-door-80-fiberglass-courtlandt-1-panel-arch-lite-glass.html" /> Thanks Shayann

Is There a Tool to Link Moz Keyword Rankings With Google Adwords Campaigns?
I wanted to know if there is a tool or other way to automatically link my Moz keyword rankings with my Google Adwords account for the purpose of allowing me to "pause" Adwords campaigns for keywords for which I rank well in the SERP's and to "activate" Adwords for keywords for which I do not rank well. Since these rankings can change from week to week, it would be great to be able to turn on and off Adwords for specific keywords depending upon my rankings that week.

Branded Keywords: Should I Monitor My Products' Names?
I am setting up my keywords' tags and brand rules. Is there any reason not to consider my products' names as "branded keywords". For instance, if my brand is HealthNut and I have products (that people talk about by name), such as GreenGiant Juice, should I create a brand rule for "GreenGiant Juice"? Granted, most of the time, customers will be searching for "HealthNut GreenGiant Juice", but there must be at least a minority who would search directly for the product itself without using the brand name. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

First Campaign: No email when each step is completed?
I joined SEOMoz 6 days ago and set up my first campaign straight away. On my Campaign Overview, it says: "Here's what you can expect over the coming days (we'll send you an email when each step is completed". But I've not received an email saying that any of the steps are completed, so I haven't really used any of the tools yet as I wanted to wait until I had something to work with 🙂 Since it's almost been 7 days (will be 7 tomorrow), do I assume that most if not all of the stages have now been completed and I can get started? Thanks, Iain.

Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide.
