Links from Dofollow sites are Nofollow ?
-
Hii i have made few links from dofollow site through blog commenting method and when i checked my site on Open Site Explorer it shows Nofollow .
So my question is links from Dofollow blogs will be nofollow ?
There is any benefit of getting links from dofollow site through comments ?
Thanks
-
First of all, I agree with everyone else but let me answer the question you asked.
Dofollow blogs often set themselves as dofollow to get links from being listed on dofollow blog lists, like the one you must've found. Once they get listed, they change back to nofollow so they don't leak their juice.
So after they were added to the list they simply changed their blog back. That would be my guess (without looking at the actual link.)
And no, there's no real benefit to doing blog comments simply for the sake of SEO. There are LOTS of reasons to leave comments though, so just do it naturally.

I think you can also take a look at this WBF... (comment marketing as inbound tactic)
Moosa Hemani is right
A friend came up with the same question, maybe the dofollow blog has an "nofollow" Meta Tag? His "dofollow" Blog had a index, nofollow robots-meta-tag.
I wouldn't comment for dofollow Links... -
Hey Moosa thanks for your reply.
Actually my main question is why links from dofollow blogs showing Nofollow in Open Site Explorer ?
And yes i am totally agree with you that blog comments are for building connections not for building links .
Thanks

Hi Sumit,
I am completely agree with Moosa. I would like to add one Matt cutts video link on exactly the same issue.

The shortest and the most honest answer to your questions that you are getting it all wrong. You are using blog comments to build links? Bad idea!
Blog Comments is a great way to build connections and relationships that later can convert in to quality links but building links using blog comments (dofollow or not) is a bad idea all together.
Hope this helps!

Major site overhaul
Hi guys and girls After reading all the content It became apparent that our website is a bit of a dog. I'm about to update our site with a new theme and content on moz.com I've found myself becoming so much more confident at all this. I've read all the material I can on Moz re: Site migration but still have one question. How do I find out all the links that I need to 301 before I make the new site live? Please don't worry about patronizing me! I'm really new at this! Ben

Google Webmaster Tools and Open Site explorer's links not matching up
My question is why do my GWT's links not match up to the ones on Open Site Explorer. I watched John Mueller's video, and he said that they had problems with the link counts recently. After checking my links today, I can see that the problem is fixed, but my link count differs from Open Site Explorer. On Web Master Tools I have 307 links, but on Open Site Explore I have 42. Has anyone dealt with this problem? thanks. Peter

How do I retrieve crawl and ranking data about a site from the past?
Hey. One of my main clients has asked to see the crawl data and rankings data for the past eight months. He wants to have tangible evidence of the effects of Penguin. I would like that info too. Is it possible to retrieve that information on a weekly crawl and ranking basis through SEO Moz and if so, how do you do it? I simply want to show a graph, timeline and brief explanation across several main keywords... Help me as you guys always do - You rock Best Ben

Help with Roger finding phantom links
It Monday and Roger has done another crawl and now I have a couple of issues: I have two pages showing 404->302 or 500 because these links do not exist. I have to fix the 500 but the 404 is trapped correctly. http://www.oznappies.com/nappies.faq & http://www.oznappies.com/store/value-packs/\ The issue is when I do a site scan there is no anchor text that contains these links. So, what I would like to find out is where is Roger finding them. I cannot see any where in the Crawl Report that tells me where the origin of these links is. I also created a blog on Tumblr and now every tag and rss feed entry is producing a duplicate content error in the crawl stats. I cannot see anywhere in Tumblr to fix this issue. Any Ideas?

Will Open Site Explorer ever show number of links over time?
OSE is an amazing tool, but do you guys at SEOmoz have any plans to develop it so we can track numbers of links over time. I need to demonstrate to clients how the link building is going, and this would be a great quick report to see how many links you found on a given day, month, year, etc. A bit like magesticSEO backlink history graph, but better 🙂
