Images not appearing in Google Images SERPS
-
Hi there
We pushed a new version of our website live more than 6 months ago.
So far, none of the images that are in the product gallery on this page http://www.ingleandrhode.co.uk/bespoke-rings/inspiration/ are appearing in the Google Images SERPS (I tested this by searching Google Images for "site:www.ingleandrhode.co.uk").
I understand that the gallery uses Javascript, so Googlebot doesn't see the image files in the HTML, but in Webmaster Tools, if I "fetch as Google" with rendering, this suggests that Googlebot does see the gallery images.
My website developer tried adding an image sitemap about two weeks ago, which is being indexed, but so far this hasn't made any difference.
Any suggestions on what needs to be done for these gallery images to start appearing in Google Images SERPS?
Many thanks!

Don't know. It probably depends on which images you fetched and rendered. I did some image searches and wasn't able to find many images on your site, only the ones whose actual file names were visible in the HTML.

Donna, many thanks for your response. I'll forward the link to our web developer.
So the fact that the images are visible when I "fetch as Google" with rendering in WMT is a red herring?
-
Looks like your images are being rendered dynamically and Google therefore can't see them. This Google Developers article might help, but can't say for sure as I haven't tried it.

Control Over SERPs
I launched a content branch of over 1200 guides for my company's website one year ago. This content branch now receives 180,000 visits per month. Unfortunately, my company has needed to cut back on several of the vertical services that it offers. As a result, many of the top article search results accounting for the majority of the traffic to this branch are now obsolete. Are there any feasible ways to shift the authority of these obsolete top rated pages (located in the top 20 results) to other articles that cover services that we still do offer? For reference, please see the attached image containing an overview of the top 20x results accounting for 40% of all traffic to this content branch. Green are still valid content and but all other colors are not. Does anyone have suggestions for moving more green articles up and into the top 20x results while pushing the other ones down without loosing out on overall site traffic? Appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!!! 1qMyYEJ.jpg

Google and private networks?
I have one or two competitors (in the UK) in my field who buy expired 1 - 8 year old domains on random subjects (SEO, travel, health you name it) and they are in the printing business and they stick 1 - 2 articles (unrelated to what was on there before) on these and that's it. I think they stick with PA and DA above 30 and most have 10 – 100 links so well used expired domains, hosted in the USA and most have different Ip’s although they now have that many (over 70% of their backlink profile) that some have the same ip. On further investigation none of the blogs have any contact details but it does look like they have been a little smart here and added content to the about us (similar to I use to run xxx but now do xxx) also they have one or two tabs with content on (article length) that is on the same subject they use to do and the titles are all the same content. So basically they are finding expired 1 – 10 year old domains that have only been expired (from what I can see) 6 months max and putting 1 – 2 articles on the home page in relation with print (maybe adding a third on the subject the blog use to cover), add 1 – 3 articles via tabs at the top on subjects the sites use to cover, registering the details via [email protected] and that’s it. They have been ranking via this method for the last couple of years (through all the Google updates) and still do extremely well. Does Google not have any way to combat link networks other than the stupid stuff such as public link networks, it just seems that if you know what you are doing you get away, if your big enough you get away with it but the middle of the ground (mum and pop sites) get F*** over with spam pointing to there site that no spammer would dream of doing anyway?

Google Adsense Good for SEO?
Is there any merit to the statement that Google will give some SEO value to sites that display Adsense? Or is there absolutely no SEO value for or against a site that displays Adsense Ads? Clearly, it would benefit Google's finance to give at least a small boost to sites that display Adsense, but do they do it? My guess is no, but I'm wondering ...

How to position in local Google
Hello, It's been easy for me to jump in .com - English only results. But, regional google is making me problems. How to position there? What are the top 3 key elements for ranking locally that don't matter much internationally? Thanks!

Google Places verification
What advice do you have for achieving verification for Google Places for a client? I have a client at the moment and I tried getting the call sent through and I'm not sure what happened but a couple of tries at this did not work. I've tried the post card way and I'm still waiting. Do I need to be more patient in Australia for this verification post card? Is there a way I can verify the info myself? note: I have set up a seperate email that there business email to handle a lot of the link building but this is different to there business email which Google uses.
