Structured Data verses Data Highlighter Tool
-
Hello, I would like to implement structured data on a site, and I am a newbie in this. (I know, hard to believe considering it's 2015.)
I'm slightly confused on why would I use structured data, if I can just tag the different elements with the data highlighter tool in Google Webmaster Tools. Should I focus on one or the other? The sites I would be working on would be considered a "local business" and have the basics (i.e. phone, address, hours, etc).

I agree what Oleg has suggested. You can use http://schema-creator.org/ for creating the code.
Hope this helps!

Other search engines use structured data too and wouldn't know if you use the highlighter tool.
I prefer/recommend using structured data in the HTML code. There are lots of generators that will help you create the code you need.

Several Items in the Organization schema structured file
Hi MOZ community! Could you please help me with the issue? I have implemented Organization Schema on the website. But according to the structure I can not markup data once. So now I have 2 Items for a Organization schema on a page. The questions are: 1. Does Google consider both of them? 2. Is that OK to have a few Items for one type of schema on the page? Thank you

Change of address form in Webmaster Tools
I have changed my domain from .co.uk to .com and tried to submit a change of address form in Google Webmaster Tools. However it seems because I redirect my home page onto www.domain.com/index.php I cannot submit the form as it is not a domain name. Is there a way round this? It is not currently an option to move away from www.domain.com/index.php Thanks in advance

Logo / H1 page structure
Not sure why I did it this way, but I need to know if this is bad for SEO - I suspect it is. Consider this is how the Logo and company name is shown on each page of our site. # UpCounsel, Inc Where the #title tag has a background image showing our company logo, rather than the actual company words. Then the CSS is also displacing the company text in favor of the logo, but also helps with accessbility so the first thing they see on the site is the company name. My question is - I should probably not use an H1 tag for this, right? And then in order to change this around, I should use H1's for the important title of the page. I understand there is some question about whether the page <title>and H1 should be the same, but we don't need to go there right now. ;-)</p></title>

How do crawl errors from SEOmoz tool set effect rankings?
Hello - The other day I presented the crawl diagnostic report to a client. We identified duplicate page title errors, missing meta description errors, and duplicate content errors. After reviewing the report we presented it to the clients web company who operates a closed source CMS. Their response was that these errors are not worthy of fixing and in fact they are not hurting the site. We are having issues getting the errors fixed and I would like your opinion on this matter. My question is, how bad are these errors? Should we not fix them? Should they be fixed? Will fixing the errors have an impact on our site's rankings? Personally, I think the question is silly. I mean, the errors were found using the SEOmoz tool kit, these errors have to be effecting SEO.....right? The attached image is the result of the Crawl Diagnostics that crawled 1,400 pages. NOTE: Most of the errors are coming from Pages like blog/archive/2011-07/page-2 /blog/category/xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxxx/page-2 testimonials/147/xxxxx--xxxxx (xxxx represents information unique to the client) Thanks for your insight! c9Q33.png

Recent Webmaster Tools Glitch Impacting Site Quality?
The ramifications of this would not be specific to myself but to anyone with this type of content on their pages... Maybe someone can chime in here, but I'm not sure how much if at all site errors (for example 404 errors) as reported by Google Webmaster Tools are seen as a factor in site quality, which would impact SEO rankings. Any insight on that alone would be appreciated. I've noticed some fairly new weird stuff going on in the WMT 404 error reports. It seems as though their engine is finding objects within the source code of the page that are NOT links but look a URL, then trying to crawl them and reporting them as broken. I've seen a couple different of cases in my environment that seem to trigger this issue. The easiest one to explain are Google Analytic virtual pageview Javascript calls where for example you might send a virtual pageview back to GA for clicks on outbound links. So in the source code of your page you would have something like: onclick="<a class="attribute-value">_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outboundclick/www.othersite.com']);</a> Although this is obviously not a crawl-able link, sure enough Webmaster Tools now would be reporting the following broken page with a 404: www.mysite.com/outboundclick/www.otherwite.com I've seen other such cases of thing that look like URLs but not actual links being pulled out of the page source and reported as broken links. Has anyone else noticed this? Do 404 instances (in this case false ones) reported by Webmaster Tools impact site quality rankings and SEO? Interesting issue here, I'm looking forward to hear some people's thoughts on this. Chris

Hey Guys I'm trying not to panic but....we had a problem with google indexing some of our secure pages then hit those pages and browsers firing up security warning, so I asked our web dev to have at look at it he made the below changes and within 2 hours the site has drop off the face of google “in web master tools I asked it to remove any https://freestylextreme.com URLs” “I cancelled that before it was processed” “I then setup the robots.txt to respond with a disallow all if the request was for an https URL” “I've now removed robots.txt completely” “and resubmitted the main site from web master tools” I've read a couple of blog posts and all say to remain clam , test the fetch bot on webmasters tools which is all good and just wait for google to reindex do you guys have any further advice ? Permalink structure for Wordpress Getshopped Plugin
Hi everyone, has anyone had any experience with Getshopped eCommerce plugin for Wordpress and it's permalink structure? Currently the permalink reads something like http://www.sitename.com/products-page/product-category/product-description/ I would like to modify it to be http://www.sitename.com/product-description/ but the SEO Plugin I am using All-in-One SEO only allows me to edit the "product-description" part of the permalink and not the "products-page/product-category/" part of it The permalink structure is set to /%postname%/ under Settings in Wordpress. Any help/comments will be greatly appreciated Thanks
