Prismic.io CMS and SEO?
-
Looking for community feedback:
Some of our In house developers want to use Prismic.io over Wordpress for it's alleged ease of organizing and "deploying" content. It's essentially a repository for content from which you make API calls to. It's a rather new platform. There a few posts in Quora around SEO but looking to see if anyone has had experience with platform.
My concern is around page load times, excessive server requests, and content viewed as code.
Any thoughts/ experiences would be much appreciated!

Another couple notes:
URLs are ugly on their demo site at http://lesbonneschoses.prismic.me/blog/
- Example post: http://lesbonneschoses.prismic.me/blog/UlfoxUnM0wkXYXbi/one-day-in-the-life-of-a-les-bonnes-choses-pastry (Post ID subfolder needs to go)
- Example category: http://lesbonneschoses.prismic.me/blog?category=Announcements (would prefer to see these parameters as subfolders like /blog/category/announcements/ and also keep them lower-cased.)
Looks like the /UlfoxUnM0wkXYXbi/ subfolder can be removed - see "Link Resolver" on this page https://developers.prismic.io/documentation/developers-manual.
Here's some of their notes on caching: https://developers.prismic.io/documentation/developers-manual#cache.

I have not used it, but here are my early thoughts:
Seems valuable if you're trying to roll out a Create Once Publish Everwhere (COPE) platform, which means you'd be publishing to not just a blog, but mobile apps, syndicated sources, etc. However, that's a rare need for the average company blog.
Other than that, it looks like they're essentially offering the Wordpress admin/editor and the Wordpress database as a cloud service, and letting your devs call the database from the front end of the site.
So the biggest question that poses in my mind is how the content can be cached on your site. Once it's cached, load time shouldn't be any different from the rest of your website, since you're not calling a database, and you're serving any static files from your own CDN, and there shouldn't be any additional HTTP requests.
If they allow for easy caching like that, then the rest of the SEO is on your developers' shoulders to format correctly on the front end of the site, and to handle things like canonicalization properly.

Has anyone ever tested to see if having an ads.txt file provided any SEO lift?
I know that the ads.txt system is designed to prevent ad fraud and technically has nothing to do with search. That said, the presence of such a file would seem to be an indicator of overall site quality because it would show that a site owner wants to participate in a fraud-free system. Has anyone ever tested that? If so, they don't seem to have published their results. Maybe it's a secret weapon that some pros are using and not sharing?

How is Single Page Application (SPA) bad for SEO
Hi guys. I am quite inspired of SPA technique. It's really amazing when all your interaction with the site is going on the fly and you don't see any page reloads. I've started implementing the site with this instruction and already found nice guys to make the design. The only downside of the using SPA which I can see **is the **SEO part. That's because the URL does not really change and different pages don't have their unique URL addresses.

Actually they have, but it looks like: yoursite.com/#/products yoursite.com/#/prices yoursite.com/#/contact So all of them goes after # and being just anchors. For Google this mean all of these pages is just yoursite.com/ My question is what is really proven method to implement the URL structure in Single Page Application, so all the pages indexed by Google correctly (sorry I don't mention the other search engines because of market share). The other question, of course, is examples. It will be great to see real life site examples, better authority sites, which use SPA technique and well indexed by search engines.1 -
Moving servers which means moving ip address but using the same URL. Would it harm the website's SEO?
Hello everyone, The server (in-house) which we use to host our website is a bit old. We are using CDN77 for our static content. What if I move all our website to the CDN service? meaning I use their storage capability and just have our url point to the IP address they provide. Would that hurt our rankings?

Hello Again Moz community, This is my last Q of the day: I have a LOT of outbound links on the home page of www.web3.ca Some are to clients projects, most are to other pages on the website. Can reducing this to the core pages have a positive impact on SEO? Thanks, Anton

HTML verses CMS
Hi My site is ranking quiet well for the past 10 years although it is becoming a bit dated. I am thinking of revamping it using Modx. Will this affect the ranking . Does a HTML site rank higher then CMS or does it no longer matter. I believe one of the reasons my site ranks so well is because it is a very basic HTML design. Should I just put a new HTML template on it Thanks

So apparently SEO moz will get us de-indexed according to a SEO company!
Each and every day i get called up from an SEO company who promises to get me top spots in Google rankings if i quickly get on their special offer they have today normally i would say "no thanks and put the phone down" but i had a bit of spare time so i indulged the guy and we got talking. After the introductions and speal about his company he was showing me what his company does and how they go about it to get me top ranks (they don't get me ranks but create a website they own which then passes leads to me- kinda clever since they could then start charging me per lead or my competitors) We continued to talk and i mentioned i used SEOmoz to check my rankings and back links etc and he told me that Google are cracking down and anyone using these types of software/websites will get their websites de indexed. This struck me as BS but i wanted to get your thoughts on the matter, i personally don't believe Google would ever do such a thing as this since it would be so easy to get your competitors websites taken down (i.e. negative seo) but its certainly a talking point.

Flash Effect on SEO Results
I suppose this is an open-ended question, at least for now, because I'm getting differing opinions on whether Flash inhibits optimum SEO results. I don't know the answer but I've just started to do some research and it seems this would be a good discussion based on your experience. I look forward to your thoughts. Thank you.
