Weird 404 in Crawl Diagnostics
-
I'am getting a lot of 404 errors (196 to be precise ) - but their pattern is weird.
The page that the crawler is trying to find is (e.g):
http://www.oorbo.com/item/asufa-israeli-design-shop**/www.oorbo.com.
the linking page is** http://www.oorbo.com/item/asufa-israeli-design-shopmeaning it adds to the end of the link the root URL - /www.oorbo.com. This happens in all 196 cases - trying to find a page http://www.oorbo.com/some-page/www.oorbo.com from a refferer page http://www.oorbo.com/some-page. Obviously this pages do not exist, and it's getting a 404.
I've look into the pages themselves and digged into their code - It doesn't seem that the bad link is any where on the page.
Did anyone came across this kind of issue? any one can point me to a solution ?
-
The issue is the link in the contact info - www.oorboo.com
If you look in the source:
=> this is a relative link - so when you click on it the www.oorbo.com will be added to the current url.
Make it absolute & the issue is solved:

Erroneous 404 Errors?
On a New Rankings & Insights email I got today, one of our sites showed over 50 404 errors totally 49% of the site. When viewing the details, every one of the errors shows the URL in the following structure: http://domainname.com/page/domainname.com. I'm not sure why this is happening, but the site and all of its pages are fine. We were having an SSL issue, but that is cleared up now. I just ran a crawl report and all checked out ok, but there were no result in the .csv file that concatenated the domain name to the end of the URL string. That doesn't seem like it would be the issue, but it's the only issue we were aware of with this site. This is the only site of ours that this is happening to. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this happened? Thank you.

Moz Crawl Test Tool - SEO Web Crawler showing up with no details
So basically I have ran the Moz Crawl Test tool twice for this url "bubblingwithenergy.info" and both times the report has listed 1 URL when there is obviously a lot more if you check the site. My question is, why is the Moz Crawl only reporting 1 URL when there are heaps? Is there a possibility it is being blocked and if so what would be blocking it? This website is using a CMS called Infusion and it is based off CMSMS (CMS Made Simple). Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Suggestion for Improving the Crawl Report on Canonicals
This came up in the answer to a question I gave here http://moz.com/community/q/canonicals-in-crawling-reports#reply_222623 Wanted to post here to put it in as a suggestion on how to improve the Moz Crawl reports Currently, the report shows FALSE if there is no canonical link on a page and TRUE if there is. IF you get a TRUE response, this shows up as a warning in your report. I currently use Canonical to Self on almost all my pages to help with some indexing issues. I currently use the EXACT function in excel to create a formula to see if my canonical link matches the URL of the page (as this is what I want it to do). I can then know that the canonical is implemented properly, or if I need to manually check pages to make sure the canonical that points to another page is correct. I would like to suggest that the Moz crawl tool does this. It can show FALSE is the canonical is missing, TRUE if the canonical is present and SELF if the canonical points to the URL of the page it is on. I think for the most part this would be much more actionable information. I would even suggest that TRUE would need to be more of a high priority alert, and SELF can't do any damage, so I would leave that info in the CSV but not have that as a warning in the web interface. Thanks for listening!

Canonicals in crawling reports
The crawling reports gives info about several meta data missing, what about the lack of a canonical tag? This would be nice too... and images without alt tag (or empty).

Moz Crawl Test: Referrer is sitemap.gz?
Hi,
Moz Bar | | Titan552
I'm looking at a crawl test report, and I'm seeing that most of the pages have the sitemamp.gz file listed as the referrer. As I recall in my other reports the referrer is usually the root domain - unless of course there's a redirect. Does having sitemap.gz as the referrer indicate a problem? If so, what problem does it indicate? Thanks!0 -
Is Manual Crawl Test option available now to Pro Users?
Hi all, I have worked on my Crawl Issues and want to see how many still exist. Earlier I was using Manual Crawl Test. However, now I don't see this tool in Moz Account. Please suggest. Thanks
