Is it possible to set up one of the Goal Conversions on Google Analytics for a different site?

We are in the process of a website migration and need to set up the conversions for the new site. What is the most effective way of doing this?

You should be able to use the same GA tracking code on your new site that you were using on your old site, yes, and then just set goals for whatever you want to track. Make sure to annotate when you made the switch so you have that information going forward. If the two sites will be live at the same time at all, I recommend doing some research into cross-domain tracking with GA so that traffic from one site to the other isn't counted as referral traffic. We are currently migrating our website and need to start tracking goal conversions for the new site. Can we use the current Google Analytics set up for the current site and just change the goal conversions once the new site is live for tracking purposes?
