Should citations include all your address? What is most important?
-
Hi
I am looking to rank highly in local search for the city we are based in and I will be creating some citations so that we can rank for a city but have a problem.
Our website lists us as being located in the Wirral which is a borough but Google + requires you to add a county for this line so could add either Merseyside or Cheshire. Should I leave this part of the citation out - i.e. Wirral or Merseyside.
We are ranking well for the term Wirral and do not want to effect this.
Could anyone advise me here so that we can start to rank better for the city Birkenhead?
The Wirral is a peninsular as can be seen on Wilipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_Borough_of_Wirral

Hi Stephen!
Thank you for posting in Q&A! It looks like this question is very similar to this one you posted yesterday:

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread to responses to keep the answers consolidated in that thread. Email me at mattr(at)moz(dot)com if you have any questions.

Is it more beneficial to use Yext rather than doing the citations manually?
Our company wanted to experiment on whether it truly is more beneficial to use Yext for citations rather than to do them ourselves. The thought process here, is that when we manually do the citations, some of our listings would increase in quality. The problem we have been running into, is that Yext has exclusive deals with nearly half of the sources we were previously listed under. Is there a way around this, or is Yext truly worth the cost?

Which Citation Sources Do You Implicity Trust?
I'm wondering what other SEO's process for selecting citations is. A coworker and I were speaking about the trust level of certain citation sites, and I'd like to get a wider view as well. I haven't really seen this addressed in any other thread or even with a Google search. How do you go about trusting particular citations? Do you have a process? Are there some you stay away from no matter what? I come across some that I feel are a bit sketchy, and try to stay away from those. Although, maybe they are more trustworthy than I give them credit for. Thoughts?

Change of address
does anyone have any experience in local search results and how a change of address will affect you? I'm going to move but am afraid that google local pack will stop ranking me. I want to know if I will be negatively affected (i.e., de ranked) in the interim as the directories update my new address and also how long it will take.

Local Search and Schema.org - Do I need to tag up the "same as" Property to all my citations to help with local rankings?
Hi All, We have implemented Schema.og on our website and this also includes the local business schema for all of our branches. However I've read an article (see below ) which says we should also be doing "same as " property and linking this to ALL of our citations such as google plus page , yelp , bing places, city search etc etc as this will help with citations. I am wondering if anyone has done this ? - And if so , has this helped with local rankings etc - I don't really want to invest the extra costs to get this done if I can't find anywhere that says its made a difference - The article from whitespark - says - "when you create new citations for your business (or for your client’s), it’s a waiting game hoping that Google and the other search engines will find your new citations quickly and make the connection between those listings, the business, and the website. The “sameAs” property can help make that process much quicker _and _easier. Schema.org explains that the “sameAs” property is used along with the “URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's [or business’] identity.” By using the “sameAs” property in your NAP schema markup, you can tell search engines that the business you’ve marked up is the same one found at a certain citation URL Of course, Google+ isn’t the only important citation source. There’s also Bing Places, Facebook, Yelp, Citysearch and a few others. The nice thing about many schema.org properties is that you can use them multiple times in your markup." I am wondering what peoples thoughts were and whether they has implemented this and if so , did it help ? thanks Pete | [sameAs](http://schema.org/sameAs) | URL | URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's identity. Is it possible to use sub URLs in Citations?
Hello, One of my client has business in 5 different locations so he has URL's like: "www.abc.com/city-service" for which he has listing verified in each location. I can certainly say that Google Business allow sub pages URL in citations (correct me if I am wrong). I am not sure if it is possible to use the sub URL's like: www.abc.com/city-service in different citations websites? Also, if this would be a good approach or not? Please help me. Sam

Competitor with 4 listings at same address
Hi there. I went to www.google.it and did a search for "Scuola di inglese a Miami" (English school in Miami) The result I got was that one Company (Kaplan International) ranked with several listings at the same address and with different languages. I read several time that you are only allowed to have one listing pr address. How is this possible? Will they eventually get merged or penalized? Best regards maps?q=scuola+di+inglese+a+miami&ie=UTF-8&ei=psJ0U5DFAcnXOdbIgNgG&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ

Google+ Local Address not changing
Just changed a Google+ Local address, however realise that its not changing. Does it usually take time for a Google+ address to change once submitted? Would like to know the process here so that this address can change so as to ensure NAP consistency.
