Links to commercial pages vs resources.

My company has a number of resources pages that are garnering links from external sources. It won't be long before these links outnumber the breadth and the quality of links to my homepage and commercial pages.
Does having a lot more links to the resources pages risk unbalancing flow of PageRank around the site? What I want to avoid is a situation where my homepage has a lower PR than my blog/resources, or people searching for relevant terms getting directed to my blog/resources (with many high-quality links) than to my commercial pages (which will have fewer).

I really like Joe's response. I would focus on his second recommendation to have the content added to important landing pages (your commercial pages), then 301 the resource page/s to the landing page/s. Or, you could follow Joe's first recommendation and seek to add good 'llinkable' content to appropriate landing pages from here on in. You have a 'good' problem here and if you go about handling the link equity properly, your landing pages will become your authority (resource) pages.

I understand the concern with having pages that don't convert as well outranking your "more important" pages. Fortunately, this is probably one of the better problems you could have. There are two things you can do to take advantage of this situation, assuming these pages exist in subfolders of your site and not as a subdomain or separate site.
First option, optimize the internal links on your resource pages to dirrect users and bots to your homepage and commercial pages that are relevant to the content of that specific resource page. The fewer links you have off these pages the better in order to not dilute the PR that is going to the pages you want to rank.
A second option, is to move the content to your commercial pages, assuming the information make sense to have on those pages, and 301 the resource page to the commercial page. I imagine this is going to be less ideal for users, depending on your site and content, but this should completely avoid the problem you're concerned about. I would only go this route, if option 1 doesn't work and the traffic that is entering your resource pages isn't converting.
And, although I don't know if search engines consider it at all, you have the option of designation a page's priority relative to the rest of your site in the sitemap. So you could set your resource pages' priority to .3 and your commercial pages to .7. But again, I don't know if this is actually used by search engines.

Effects of a bad link linking to a image
i am getting a lot of links from wallpapers sites.. One person has created 1000's of similar sites that are linking back to my images. My guess is images do not pass link value positive or negative. But I am not sure what the potential effects would be. Does anyone know who linking to images might effect SEO especially when there coming from horribly low quality auto generated sites.

Inbound Links not showing. Links are not no follow
Over the past several months I have definitely received inbound links to my website ( none of which are no follow). I have HubSpot as well s Moz and none of the links are showing. My competitors with the same link sources are showing though. I am completely dumbfounded. Why are my inbound links not showing and how much time does it take for them to show if they show at all? External links - link to third party sites
Greetings! Actually, got an doubt on linking to external site. The thing, i have working for roof marketers site. They have covered roof products. Each of the products have a page along with major keyword. Actually, i do link from other pages[internally]. Meaning,if i see any main keywords in different page then will link that to corresponding page/product[internally].This is what i am doing to get page rank. Now, my doubt. Some of the pages are having link with main keywords which directs to the third party site those who are really producing the products. But, i remove the third party-link which has with main keywords. Since already the site/my client site having pages for that main keywords. But client really want that link. meaning the links which they have given to direct to third party[product producer] site. So what should i do at this case. Can i just past RAW link like [http://www.thirdpartysite.com] or what do i do. But my client wants that link to be in content area. Hope you would understand my long explanation and case Please help us. Thank you

Back links from more then one page from one domain
howdy SEO peeps, quick question. If i get a back link from two different pages from one domain, and both pages have different PR values. does google take both into its value PR or does google only take one of the links as PR juice to your site. thanks guys

How might Google differentiate between an artificial link exchange and partners linking to each other?
Hi, All! Artificial link exchanges (contacting a vaguely connected site and requesting to exchange links to increase your PR) is, as far as I know, considered an outdated, not-so-smart technique, as Google might devalue them. Yet, for real business partners to exchange links seems to be an entirely accepted and encouraged technique. While that would be intuitive to a human who's viewing the pages. how might Google detect when two sites that link to each other are linking because they are trusted business associates (valuable) as opposed to when they are doing a link exchange (devalued)? Which parameter does google value more: number of incoming links or on-page optimizations (meta data and keywords)?
I am just starting with the SEO and I have a client in the travel industry whose website is not ranked well on the search engines. After doing the seo audit we see that the website's on-page optimization (meta titles, meta description, meta keywords and h1, h2, etc tags) is bad. At the same time there are very few incoming links into the website. These are the key 2 issues we found. In order to proceed most effectively, what do you think would be more effective to focus on first? Doing the on-site optimization or focusing more on the link building? Impact of Internal VS Inbound Links
