Skimlinks - Blogger Affiliate
-
Just to give you a bit of background - we are going out of our way to get bloggers to talk about and link (we are not paying for them) to our products. We recently noticed that a number of these bloggers have signed up to skimlinks and are using shortened URL's (fave.co/12345) and are no-following these (is this correct procedure?).
It's a little awkward, as it's devaluing our PR teams work, as we aren't able to see the sites generating revenue, GA simply shows the affiliate number (skimlinks) and that's it.
has anyone else had similar issues with skimlinks and if so how did you deal with them? Are the links they are "hijacking" harmful to our site?

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Need feedback: Should we move our blog from blogger to our e-commerce site?
Hi, I write the blog for an e-commerce site that sells swimwear www.allwetbeachwear.com. The blog is currently a blogger blog that lives off the domain. I have always thought that having a blogger blog for the site looked unprofessional yet might be good for SEO since google owns blogger. However recently we are making SEO improvements and want to create more internal links to keep up with our competitors. I am thinking an on-site blog might be good for SEO. What do you recommend for the best SEO results for our site? -keeping on blog hosted on blogger -creating a new blog on our e-commerce platform -hosting the blogger blog on a subdomain of our ecommerce site Thanks!

Do incoming affiliate links help with SEO?
Quick question: If my affiliates promote an ebook via an e-junkie affiliate link that points to a sales page on my domain, will I get any SEO benefit from the links? Will Google see that the e-Junkie affiliate link 'hops' through to my domain name? i.e. Affiliate's website --> eJunkie link --> ebook landing page on my domain Thanks for your advice! Ian

Do affiliate links count for Google?
Hi, I have been reading about affiliate links - links with a tracking code in the URL (i.e.: www.xxx.com/?aff=123456) and I can't find a definitive answer. Does Google count them as natural links or maybe they do not even pass any link juice? And if they don't, what if I get a natural link from a website (without tracking code) and later that website becomes my affiliate? Would the first link still count? I guess that there can't be any certainty about all this, but I would love to know your expert opinions 🙂 Thanks!
