Hiya! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here.
Unfortunately, a limitation of our API is that we can only export the top 25 links from each linking root domain. This means that, if the majority of your links are coming from a small number of domains, we would only be able to export a small percentage of your links. This includes internal links as well as external links. For example, moz.com has 61k internal links, but we would still only be able to export the top 25 of those internal links.
The reason why is that if someone has 500,000 links and most of them are from the same domain, then we wouldn't want to fill up all 10,000 links with the same domain information and leave out important links from other domains. Instead, we'll only show the top 25 based on Page Authority so that we can show links from other sites without the same domain taking up all 10,000 spaces. In other words - we want to show link diversity.
The advanced reports have the same limitations on the number of links per linking root domain, and can only give links from an increased number of root domains.
If you want to obtain more than 25 links from a particular domain (we export only 25/per domain) to a target, this is only achievable through the Mozscape API directly.
For example, if you want to find the number of pages that link to the yahoo.com root domain from the wikipedia.org root domain, you could issue the following query:
http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/links/yahoo.com?Scope=page_to_domain&SourceDomain=wikipedia.org&SourceCols=4&Limit=50&Offset=0This will return the source URL of the first 50 pages from anywhere in the wikipedia.org root domain to anywhere in the yahoo.com root domain. Then, you can set the Offset parameter to 50 and run the same call, and so on, always incrementing Offset by 50. As soon as you get a number of links back that's less than 50, you know you've reached the end of the links we have that fit your parameters. Just add up all the links you've seen, and you've got your count!
Please note the limit for free users will be 1000 links total. There is no limit with a paid subscription, however higher offsets take longer to process and may time-out.
I hope this helps - do let me know if there's anything else I can assist with! And as always, you can reach out to our team directly any time by emailing [email protected] or clicking the blue chat icon on the lower right of the product!
Thank you,
-Kristina -
I've never seen any domain limits and there's no mention of domain limits per subscription level on the Moz Pro details page.
-
Isn't that limited to 25 domains and thus a bit pointless if you're doing a full audit?
-
Yep, just click the 'Request CSV' link right above the Spam Score column heading.

Question about link report
Hey all, SEO noob here, back with another question. I downloaded a link report, and I don't understand the columns Links to Page, Outbound Domains from Page, and Outbound Links from Page. Is Links to Page the number of links from the source page to the target page? Is Outbound Domains from Page the number of domains linked to by the source page? Is Outbound Links from Page the number of outbound links to any domain or page from the source page? Thanks in advance! AK

Why Moz Link Explorer is showing wrong data?
Hi everyone. I am using Moz Link Explorer to find relevant links from competitors and when I narrow it down to Link Type: Follow Status: Active I get the list. All good here... BUT ... Inspecting the actual link on the page there is a no=follow attached to it. Is this feature still working properly on the new Link Explorer or is a bug? Thanks!

No link to Open Site Explorer from Campaigns tracked keywords?
Hi there, The Guide to tracking your keyword rankings in Moz Pro states that "Click on the keyword to analyze it, the URL to be taken to that page in Open Site Explorer or the Optimize link to get a Page Optimization Score with recommendations.". But my URLs all target to the specific page on my site. I figure it would be nice to dive deeper in analysing specific pages, using Open Site Explorer Is just the link with Open Site Explorer broken, or is the Guide out of date? Thanks, Arnout

Change in OSE?
Hi My site http://sassandgrace.co.uk has a 301 direct from the www. version as recommended and, up until last week, OSE showed no results for the www version with a message of some kind saying about the re-direct. This week the message has disappeared and I have half my links (still v small) on www version and half on the non version. Has something changed? Should I be worried? And what, if anything, should I do? Thanks

Flauctuating number of Internal Equity-Passing Links affecting DA
My site has a high number of fluctuating internal equity passing links in open site explorer from month to month, theses range from 30 000 and sometimes as high as 1,million. The fluctuations occur even when I have made no changes onsite. I have noticed that when the internal equity passing links are very high the DA drops and when they are low the DA is high, has anyone ever experienced this with open site explorer ?

Open Site Explorer -> Just Discovered -> Internal Links: Only shown 1 url link per day
Hi, We have a page that have like 10-15 new content/pages per day.
Link Explorer | | Inspiringinterns
eg. domain.com/post-id-01/, omain.com/post-id-02/, omain.com/post-id-03/ etc
But somehow, under Just-Discovered, internal links only show 1 per day when it suppose to display like 10-15.
The layout for each pages is exact same except for the content changes and the url's ID changes. Our competitor on the other hand, they have like 5 new page per day, but somehow Moz shows their internal links as 25 per days. Each of their new url have 4 more prefix number.
Eg:
new-page-01?track=990
new-page-01?track=991
new-page-01?track=992 etc
The above example url is technically as 1 page if without the "?" affix. Whiles all our new pages/url have unique id, but Moz only show 1 a day. Please advise on how to get Moz to shows all the new pages in Just-Discovered (internal link). Thanks, Cam0 -
Are Just Discovered Links Reports Working?
I can't find my 4 month old site in Open Site Explorer. But as the site has had all of its posts tweeted I checked the Just Discovered Links reports to see if it was mentioned there. My domain is http://www.genesisclub.training but the problem is that if I target "this root domain" - I get a bunch of links that are nothing to do with my site. For example the root domain report includes sites linking to www.tinmagpie.training www.goahead.training powerquery.training http://videoproduction.training http://www.eti.training http://linkedinsales.training and more, as sites linking to my root domain. In which universe? The Just Discovered algorithm looks like it isn't coping with the .training TLD. It is treating my domain as if it were genesisclub.training.com so now anything.training is in my root domain.
