What server issues might cause temporary and repeated Soft 404/500 Errors that appear to be functioning correctly when checked later from Google Webmaster Tools?
-
We are experiencing unknown server issues (we think) which are causing Soft 404/500 errors at unpredictable times on 2 websites. When we check on the pages, they’re fine but still show errors in Moz/Search Console.
What are some measures we can take to protect from this or figure out what is causing this?
Example URL for Soft 404 Error: https://www.advancedtraveltherapy.com/jobs/any/occupational-therapist/any/
Example URL for 500 Error: https://www.advancedtraveltherapy.com/job-detail/ms/physical-therapist/87529740/

Example URL for 500 Error: https://www.advancedtravelnursing.com/job/ma/registered-nurse/emergency-room/87108662/

It could be an intermittent slow server or one that's dropping out occasionally. There are various services which allow you to monitor uptime (e.g. Pingdom etc).

IP Redirect causing Indexing Issue
Hi, I am trying to redirect any IP from outside India that comes to Store site (https://store.nirogam.com/) to Global Store site (https://global.nirogam.com/) using this methodThis is causing various indexing issues for Store site as Googlebot from US also gets redirected!- Very few pages for "store.nirogam.com/products/" are being indexed. Even after submission of sitemap it indexed ~50 pages and then went back to 1 page etc. Only ~20 pages indexed for now.- After this I tried manually indexing via "Crawl -> Fetch as Google" - but then it showed me a redirect to global.nirogam.com. All have their "status -> Redirected" - This is why bots are not able to index the site. What are possible solutions for this? How can we tell bots to index these pages and not get redirected? Will a popup method where we ask user if they are outside India help in solving this issue? All approaches/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Duplicate Content Issue: Google/Moz Crawler recognize Chinese?
Hi! I am using Wordpress multisite and my Chinese version of the website is in www.mysite.com/cn Problem: I keep getting duplicate content errors within www.mysite.com/cn (NOT between www.mysite.com and www.mysite.com/cn) I have downloaded and checked the SEOmoz report and duplicate_page_content list in CSV file. I have no idea why it says they have the same content., they have nothing in common in content . www.mysite.com is the English version of the website, and the structure is the same for www.mysite.com/cn *I don't have any duplicate content issues within www.mysite.com Question: Does google Crawler properly recognizes chinese content??

Webmaster Tools Site Map Question
I have TLD that has authority and a number of micro-sites built off of the primary domain. All sites relate to the same topic, as I am promoting a destination. The primary site and each micro-site have their own CMS installation, but the domains are mapped accordingly. www.regionalsite.com/ <- primary

Odd Google Indexing Issue
I have encountered something odd with Google indexing. According to the Google cache my site was last updated on April 6. I had been making a series of changes on April 7th and none of them show up in the cached version of the site (naturally). Then, on the 8th, my rankings seem to have dropped about 6 places and the main SERP is showing a text that isn't even on the Web site. The cached version has the correct page title from the page that was indexed on the 6th. How do I learn where Google is picking this up from? There is a clean page title tag on my Web site. I've checked the server, etc to see what's going on. The text isn't completely unrelated, but it definitely impacted my ranking. Does Google ever have these hiccups when indexing?

Google Webmaster tools error?
So I am trying to set the URL preference in google webmaster tools for my site. However when I try to save it it tells me to verify that I own the site. I have already done this so where can I go to verify I own the site exactly? Maybe I am wrong and I have not done this already but even on the homepage of webmaster tools I don't see an option to "verify".

Google Webmaster Tools: Keywords
Hi SEOmozzers! I'm the Dr./owner/in-house SEO for my eye care practice. The URL is www.ofallonfamilyeyecare.com. Our practice is in O'Fallon, MO. Since I'm an optometrist, my main keywords are "optometrist o'fallon" and "o'fallon optometrist". As I get more familiarity with SEO, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools, I've discovered the Keywords that Google feels best represent my website. About a week ago I noted Google counted 21 instances of "optometrist" on the 28-30 pages of my website, which ranks as #32 in the most common keywords. #1 is "eye" with 506 instances. Even though 21 occurrences seemed low, I went though every page adding "optometrist" a couple times in the body where it would naturally be appropriate. I also added it to the address shown on the footer of every page. I changed the top navigation option of "meet Dr. Hegyi" to "our optometrist". I must have added at least 4 occurrences to every page on my site, and submitted for a re-crawl. I even tried to scale back the "eye" occurrences on a few pages. Today I see that Google has re-crawled the site and the keywords have been updated. "Optometrist has DROPPED from #32 to #33. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions why I'm not seeing increased occurrence in Googles eyes? I realize this may not be a big factor in SERPs, but every bit of on-page optimization helps. Or is this too minor of an issue to sweat? Thanks!

Remove Deleted (but indexed) Pages Through Webmaster Tools?
I run a blog/directory site. Recently, I changed directory software and, as a result, Google is showing 404 Not Found crawling errors for about 750 non-existent pages. I've had some suggest that I should implement a 301 redirect, but can't see the wisdom in this as the pages are obscure, unlikely to appear in search and they've been deleted. Is the best course to simply manually enter each 404 error page in to the Remove Page option in Webmaster Tools? Will entering deleted pages into the Removal area hurt other healthy pages on my site?
