HOW DOES MOZ FILTER ISSUES ON WEBSITES?
-
Good day
My company is trying moz for the first, and I am their web developer, I looked through the moz report and found something confusing when checking the issues.
For example, I have URL:https://www.cham-training.co.za/free-skills-development-assessment.php
and the mentioned URL can have parameters as follows:
1. https://www.cham-training.co.za/free-skills-development-assessment.php?target=Internship
2. https://www.cham-training.co.za/free-skills-development-assessment.php?target=Learnership
the target parameter is just used to hold a value regarding the clients actual request, learnership, internship etc. However moz seem to recognize the same link with different parameters as different links and this makes the issue count to go up. For me, then this becomes false report. Please take a look at the attached image for reference.
I got issues regarding duplicate title, but the truth is there's no duplicate titles its just that moz picks up the page as different because of the url parameters. Can someone please clarify why is that so or if there's any reason moz does that.
I hope to hear from you guys soon.
Thank you

It's because the search engines actually treat every parameter based version of your URL as a separate page, so it really does look like duplicate content to the search engine. So Moz is crawling them in the same way. This is informative for you. In your case, you have canonical tags back to the version with the query string, which would be the fix for you anyway.

403 to filter markets???
Hello! I was running an exercise to investigate the market around the main keyword "Retail recruitment" just for the US. Looking for key competitors, I've found one of them blocking traffic from any other sources but USA. When you try to access that site from any other country it returns a 403 error code. I think the only reason for doing this is to avoid big companies globally based to actually find them or study them in order to compete. The URL I'm talking about is http://www.c2recruitment.com/... What do you think? Would be another reason to do so? I also wonder if they are doing that just to avoid undesired traffic in general as it's a kind of market with high amount of impressions but low CTR. Third theory is that there's some SEO black-magic-for-local-seo-trick I'm missing. Any thoughts?

Search Results Issues
Hi All, I am having an issue with https://www.toyotaofwilmington.com/ If you do searches using Ad Preview for “2016 Toyota Camry in Wilmington, NC” or “2016 Toyota Corolla in Wilmington, NC” we are having issues with the website not showing up organically. We have the location set to Wilmington, NC, but their competition which is located in Jacksonville, NC which is over an hour away shows up organically on the first page. I am wondering if there are any obvious reasons as to why this would happen, or if there is something bigger I need to look at? Thank you, Cyrus

Location based IP Redirect cuasing Google Search Issue
Hi there, My client has a .com.au site (www.example.com.au) for Australian visitors and a .com site for US visitors (www.example.shopify.com). The .com.au site has a lot of content while the .com site has little content, due to only recently starting business in the US and due to seasonal offerings. The client does not want US visitors to see the .com.au site. Se we set up an IP redirect, so users with a US IP address are directed to the .com site. This negatively and significantly effected our Google organic search rankings on https://www.google.com.au My question is what is best practice solution in this situation? thanks

Backlinking for small service oriented websites
I am a newby to the SEO world. We are a graphic/web design/development company that has been pulled into the SEO world. We work for a lot of clients that are sensing the need for websites but they don't have the capital to invest in a large website. So after building simple sites for them they come to us wanting to be ranked better in the SERPS. I can go through and do the basics of meta tag info but with small sites, there isn't a lot you can do. I feel I need to learn to do backlinking but am completely lost. When I read about backlinks a lot of people talk about blogging websites, not service industry websites. Does anyone have tips to learn backlinking for small service companies that want to target their local area? loggers, woodworking shops, landscape companies, cabinet shops, home cleaners, bulk food stores, etc. I'm interested in maybe blogposts, or tutorials to read/watch, or software to help me out, etc. Thanks in advance for your help!

How many websites in Google Serps
Let say you are an electrician. You have a website in Google Serps After much deliberation you realise that the current domain name is giving the wrong signals to your potential customers. So you decide to rebrand to a new domain name. The new domain will have fresh content (no duplication). Question
Local SEO | | Mark_Ch
Can you have both instances live in Google Serps and eventually retire the current website via a 301 redirect to the new domain. Thanks Mark0
