Some site pages are removed from Google Index
-
Hello,
Some pages of my clients website are removed from Google Index.
We were in top 10 position for some keywords but now I cannot find those pages neither in top 1000.
Any idea what to do in order to get these pages back?
thank you

If that's the timeframe, it's most likely not the recent Farmer Update. I'd guess it's most likely to be a penalty of some kind (manipulative linking practices, cloaking, thin/duplicate/scraped content are the most likely culprits). You might check out these posts for more detail:

It's hard to say without looking at the site however it's likely it's tripped the new quality filter. Try improving content on a single page and see if it makes difference. If yes, then apply to others.

You should also check Google Webmaster Tools for messages from Big G. They provide good insight on crawl issues quite a bit of the time too.

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your quick reply.
For 3 months they were in 4th and 8th position. then from 1-2nd february they're gone.
the website is older than 3 years. and yes the pages are indexed by google.

There's not enough information here to help you. How long did they rank? How old is the site? When were the pages removed from the rankings? Are they still indexed? Did this happen at the time of the recent algorithm change? Answer some of these questions and we can more easily answer yours.

Does anyone know the linking of hashtags on Wix sites does it negatively or postively impact SEO. It is coming up as an error in site crawls 'Pages with 404 errors' Anyone got any experience please?
Does anyone know the linking of hashtags on Wix sites does it negatively or positively impact SEO. It is coming up as an error in site crawls 'Pages with 404 errors' Anyone got any experience please? For example at the bottom of this blog post https://www.poppyandperle.com/post/face-painting-a-global-language the hashtags are linked, but they don't go to a page, they go to search results of all other blogs using that hashtag. Seems a bit of a strange approach to me.

Google ranking my site abroad, how to stop?
Hi Mozzers, I have a UK based ecommerce site, that sells only to the UK. Over the last month Google has started ranking my site on foreign flavours of Google, so I keep getting traffic coming to my site from Europe, America and the far east that we could never sell to, and as a result bounce is going up and engagement is going down. They are definitely coming to the site from google searches that relate to my product type, but in regions I do not service. Is there a way to stop google doing this? I have the target set to UK in WMT, but is there anything else I can do? I worried about my UK ranking being damaged by an increasing overall bounce rate. Thanks

Keyword targeting by page, site, or both?
Hi, We recently discovered that a product we sell has a misnomer, and that a ton of people take to Google and use variations of that misnomer while trying to find us. Unfortunately we don't rank in Google for this keyword, and its costing us thousands in lost sales. I've been slowly building the misnomer into the content of our site in hopes that the spiders will pick up on it. It has started to work in the last couple weeks, but we're nowhere near the top (and we are #1 and #2 for most of our other prime keywords.) The site which sells the product is specialized, and only sells this specific product (in different models, but they're all the same product essentially.) With that in mind, I'm trying to figure out the best way to attack a new keyword. I know that normally you would dedicate a specific page (in an eCommerce store probably that product's own page) to employ your SEO tactics. However, because this site specializes in this product and offers different models and information about it I'm confused about the best approach. Does Google take into consideration the entire site a s whole, or are the pages within my site competing against each other for rank?

Google Index Speed Opinions
Hello Everyone, Under normal circumstances, new posts to my site are indexed almost instantly by Google. I know this because an occasional search with quotation marks surrounding the 1st paragraph of text displays my newly published page. I use this tactic from time to time to ensure contributors aren't syndicating content. My question is this: I've noticed over the last day or so that my newly published articles are not yet indexed. For example, an article that was published over 24 hours ago does not appear to be indexed yet. Is this cause for concern? Is there an average wait time for indexation? XML issue? Thanks in advance for the help/insight.

Asking to remove links from other sites
How hard is it to get people to take off links that point to your site that are on theirs? I have about 4 sites that I would like my link OFF of their blogroll because I think I was hit by the penguin update because of that. Do you know if there is anything you can do if they DON'T take it off?
