Reconsideration Request denied for 3rd time!!! - Could Use Some Fresh Eyes Please?
-
I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues: YES
My site's URL (web address) is:http://www.recoveryconnection.org/
Description (including timeline of any changes made):n mid-June, we were penalized. We received a message in WMT that our site was penalized for Doorway Pages, thin content, and pages trying to rank for just 1 KW.1. We removed all doorway-style pages (according to guidelines) and consolidated content to target no less than 3 KWs per page, and not over-optimized.
2. Submitted first reconsideration request.
3. Denied 8 days later via MSG in WMT that stated simply that the site still did not meet Google's Guidelines.
4. Printed fresh copies of Google's guidelines, and rewrote almost every page of the site. We took down the blog in case of old thin content or possible doorway pages. We reduced the overall size of the site from over 400 pages down to around 80.
5. Submitted 2nd reconsideration request.
6. Denied 10 days later via MSG in WMT that stated simply that the site STILL did NOT meet Google's Guidelines.
7. Restructured site and it's content.
8. Denied 3rd time.http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=43c09330ab7b25b5&hl=en
Note: We have checked our link profile over and over, and we have NO Paid links. We have moved our entire site to a new platform, with clean code, new URL structure, etc.
Does anyone have any feedback?
Thanks.

Thats what it looks like after 3 revisions? Makes me instantly repulsed, altho hard to say exactly why.
- How are you making money out of this? it doesnt state that and therefore looks extremely untrustworthy
- You are making statements like "nationally recognised" without backing them up with facts or referneces
- You are using cheepo stock photos
- your homepage has little worthwhile content
- it just feels like a scam homepage, built by to feed off other people who are in a bad situation

Using Google Reviews for non local business
Hi All, We are deciding on what site is best to capture reviews from customers and I'm just not sure what is the ideal option. We are a SaaS business with multiple offices in different locations but the specific geographies are not really relevant to our customers. Is it worth focusing on google reviews so that when our brand is searched there are plenty of nice shiny stars (plus maybe they can be added into adwords adverts as well...). Search volume for the keywords we don't yet rank for are not massive although still important. Alternatively should we be thinking about something like G2Crowd. None of our competitors are doing anything so there's no real need to our muscle them on a review website and I don't think our end user will visit these sites before buying but we would point to them and say 'hey, look at all these great reviews'. Finally I searched my old company recently who and just under news results were facebook reviews. Maybe that's another option. All advice welcome. All advice appreciated.

How do I predict quality of inbound link before using Disavow links tool?
I am working on Ecommerce website and getting issues with bad inbound links. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tools for clean up bad inbound links and sustain my performance on Google. We have 1,70,000+ inbound links from 1000+ unique root domains. But, I have found maximum root domains with low quality content and structure. Honestly, I don't want to capture inbound links from such websites who are not active with website and publishing. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tool. But, How do I predict quality of inbound links or root domains before using it? Is there any specific criteria to grade quality of inbound links?

Penguin 2.0 Update - Just Hit - Google Messes up again, can anyone on SEOMOZ please tell me why or how some of these websites are ranking?
I am getting a bit tired now writing all of this so please excuse grammar and spelling mistakes, I wanted to post this up quickly tonight so I could possibly get some feedback by morning. So I feel I figured out some of the new update that just hit and I am sure the update will continue to keep coming and rankings will most likely change for a while, but I do have a few questions in the mean time if they stay. Please look below, why would some of those sites be ranking? Some sites utilize no onpage SEO, some no backlinks, one of the sites is a single page site and every page is a broken link even the contact us page and it's rank 1..... I am not 100% sure that Google got this one right. I see many instances below where other sites are much higher quality and have more authority. It's as if Google took terrible sites and said here is a site for you, now deal with it and I hope it works out at the top. I do see several sites that belong on the first page, but I see others that are very questionable. This is how the following is written below. Before the url is the anchor text density % for the site. This indicates the percentage of the amount of times the anchor text was backlined versus other anchor texts they used. Issues with the sites. Most of these sites don't utilize onpage SEO and it's clearly not a factor for onpage density purposes, there is a site with 37% keyword density on it. Some sites even have broken links. Please note: I already know that there is a lot of data that is analyzed to determine rankings more than this, but PA/DA is suppose to be a major factor according to everyone that believes in SEOMOZ.org. So I am taking in account for many of those factors being calculated due to this. These are just some random keywords I picked, because I know you need to analyze other SEO firms after and update to figure out what lasted and what didn't. All of my sites lasted due to ethical tactics, but I had some rankings move down and others go up, very odd. The onpage SEO is sloppy and the writing looks forced. Why is this even ranking? The site also looks low quality. The density is higher than SEOMOZ even and it has less words. In this case DA + words carried this site up, not the anchor ratio being low. 6.17% http://www.cheapseo-services.com cheap seo Page Authority DA 28 -- PA 38 276 Words No onpage, 35 duplicate pages, free template, etc.. etc.. 10% www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-do-seo-cheap DA 94 --- PA 56 only 5 anchor texts used on this page. 8651 Words I am willing to bet if you diversified this with about 5 more anchor texts this could be number 1 easy. If you could go back in time and build any brands SEO what brand would that be and why?
Ok so yes this my idea of having fun when I think about SEO. For me it would be Coca Cola as they only have fast moving consumer goods and their whole brand just SCREAMS "please take me viral". Maybe Disney or a Gaming company..

Where is my time best spent ?
Greetings, I am a new aspiring SEO for a niche market company I helped create. Both the company and website launched in 2007. From 2007 till mid March 2012, the website was amateur hour with no SEO whatsoever. I have spent years building social media profiles. In doing so I have built quite an online presence and created brand awareness. Therefore our domain has some authority and some inbound links. Since I started my first campaign on SEOMoz my organic search traffic has gone from around 0-5 hits to 35-50 hits a day in around 4 weeks. I have been submitting to directories that are targeted toward our niche market. I have contributed to community forum posts as well as talking to blog authors to write about our company and products, none of which seem to have any impact on our page or domain authority. If I am already ranking for 50% of my targeted keywords in one of the most competitive markets there is, with only very few links compared to my competition, would my time be best spent starting to work on inbound marketing strategies/link building (to build my domain and page authority) as opposed to outbound marketing, content building and UX? I know all is necessary, but the company really needs to start making some ROI. (So my position as a SEO doesn't get shelved and I can continue using tools like SEOMoz.) There are still some UX details we need to improve on the site (e.g., there are only product descriptions on half of our products on the new version of the site) but the product pages or categories the search traffic is landing on are all described (mostly) 😕 I guess my question to the community is, if you were in my shoes (the only person in the company who is somewhat savvy to any of this), on what would you focus your time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Warmest regards, S&M Site contains adult content (NSFW)

What is the highest conversion rate you have achieved? URGENT... Community please help!!!
Hello Guys, I need the community's help. I want to estimate the number of visits per month that I will have to generate in order to reach a particular revenue target(monthly). There are three brackets (income channels) in which I can divide this total number of visits - ORGANIC, CPC & ADVERTS. There are two parts to this question. Part A> What percentage of the three income channels should I give to ORGANIC??? Part B> What is the conversion rate I can achieve? Basically... I want to find out what is the general conversion rate that you guys normally achieve for your clients and what percentage of your total visits are through pure SEO and Social Media. I have done most of the calculation assuming that I will be able to achieve 4% conversion rate (but the answer scared me real bad :)).... do you think this is low??? or do you think it is alright? I will appreciate prompt response because I have to give my client the forecast report in a few hours... I have done a lot of research and have finally turned to you guys for an answer... RAND... can u pitch in man??? That would be awesome 🙂 Thanks in advance for your input guys. Best Regards, Talha

Is Bing actually using Yahoo's search engine now?
All my Bing rankings are now the same as Yahoo's ranking were, but I expected the opposite. Meanwhile, my Yahoo rankings are exactly the same as they were last week.
