Is there a way to tell if a directory is passing Page Rank or is devalued?
-
Hi Mozzers!
I was wondering if there is a way to determine if a specific directory is passing Page Rank or if the links have been devalued by Google.
Thanks!

Spammy links will often have a low Moztrust and a medium or high Moz rank.
Sites penalised by Google can often be spotted if there is a considerable difference between Moz Rank and Page Rank.
Hope this helps.

I don't think there'll be a trustworthy tell-tale to know what directories are still passing link juice and which aren't. You might want to try looking at the 'Domain mozTrust (DmT)' as reported by the SEOmoz toolbar. The higher this value the greater the change directories are still passing value.

Link juice - What could be the reason for our bad internal page Page Authority
So OK we have a domain authority currently of 41, we are well established but unfortunately we don't have any pages with PA. I have a fair idea of why this is the case but want to get some other opinions before I form my strategy. 1.It appears our internal link structure is not great and is not very organised 2. It appears we have 58 links going externally on some pages. Some of these external links are social media icons in the footer which are followed. Is there any other factors I should be aware of when building PA on some of my inner pages. Any Thoughts would be appreciated.

Rankings Dropped After New Backlinks.
I have a low-traffic website (under 100 unique visitors per day) and I've encountered a strange issue started yesterday morning. I acquired three back-links, one of these back-links is contextual and the other two are site-wide. The site-wide back-links are from PA 40+ blogs. It looks like the back-links are already indexed by Google. Despite these new back-links, my rankings across multiple keywords have dropped several positions. I'm new to SEO, but I would assume new back-links would improve my rankings. None of these back-links are low quality links, they are from real established blogs with high domain and page authority values. Could anyone give me insights into why my rankings may have dropped with new back-links?

Link juice pass on
We operate in a few countries and so have our .com website redirect to the country the person is from. I was wondering how the link juice worked in this case, does it simply stop at .com, or does it get split evenly over the sites it's redirecting to. We have just bought the .org site as well, I am to believe that link juice from a .org to a .org is better than from a .org to a .com. We have redirected the .org to the .com which then goes the the relevant country's site. An example of link juice would be... Say an Australian organisation with a .org site links to our .org site, the link juice then goes from our .org site links to our .com site, and this then geo links back through to our .com.au site. Would it be a lot better to link directly from .org to our .com.au site in this instance, or for the sake of all the sites, would the current method work okay? Cheers.

When searching for high quality links, in a niche area such as real estate, does page rank factor into a search or is page / domain authority the most important factor?
After having employed many different methods for finding good link partners I am now finding it more difficult to reach out and identify good quality links for a niche area such as real estate. Does page rank factor into the search much or is it better to focus on page / domain authority as a major factor?

Ways to increase ranking positions?
Hi, I want to discuss the different methods for increasing ranking positions for a keyword using offsite SEO methods. If your targeting a keyword which gets 20,000 exact match searches a month for a new website then the first thing you are going to want to do is rank in the top 5 within Google for that term. I know onsite will come into play as well but lets just say you have used the SEOMOZ tools and your onsite SEO achieves a grade A. So what needs to take place in order for your website to start climbing ranking positions? I myself would be more inclined to spend a few days creating 4-5 nice articles and offer them up for guest blogging with anchor text links. I may also use the content on a hub page, squidoo lens, wordpress blog, blogger blog, weebly blog and so on with social bookmarking thrown into the mix. But will this alone over a period of time (depending on the competition) increase rankings? Am I missing a trick here??? Cheers
