Is there such thing as too much product information in terms of SEO

Hi All,
Our website sells products online and is a prestashop system
Prestashop comes with a set form you use to fill in products, however to fill it all you end up creating alot of repeated data. What i need to know, is if you have:
Product name: Audi A6 Rear Lamp Set
Short Description: A Short & Sweet Description
Long Description: A Long Boring Description
Meta Title: Same as product name
Meta Keywords: What more can be said about an A6 Rear Lamp Set???
Meta Description: Same as long and boring description
Im stuck in a position of having the ability to add extra information (i.e Meta-Tags) But really ill end up repeating what is already in the products natural listing.
In terms of good SEO, is it better to leave Meta Fields empty, or fill them in and be repetitive for product pages?

I would recommend the following:
Product name: Audi A6 Rear Lamp Set
- Seems fine but not keyword focused on what people are searching for.
Short Description: A Short & Sweet Description
- I am presuming this is a CMS field that will be displayed in the category page of your ecommerce site, before someone clicks to find out more on this particular product. So yes something short and sweet.
Long Description: A Long Boring Description
- The long description, shouldn’t be boring
but yes it can be boring to write. I would expect this to appear on your product page providing confidence and specific details about the product.
Meta Title: Same as product name
- Yes this should be the same as the product name, maybe include some additional variants on the most popular keyword. For example "Popular keyword - Second most popular keyword".
Meta Keywords: What more can be said about an A6 Rear Lamp Set???
Meta keywords are ignored by almost all search engines these days, so I wouldn’t worry about these and possibly remove them. Unless they are used within your websites internal search facility.
Meta Description: Same as long and boring description
- Meta Description should be no longer than 156 Characters (Including Spaces). So maybe the short description could be placed here with any discount, sales or delivery pricing message your site may have.
It seems to me that you need more support that these Q&A's can provide, this is one problem but you will find many more, it's hard to get it all correct. By going through this Q&A process it will take you a long time to find all the answers you need. Just a friendly bit of advice to try and save you time which ultimately costs money.
If you make the wrong choices, you may find that you miss opportunities which could drive more traffic to your site.

Would the search engines pick up the product name and long description, or if i have to shall i duplicate the name and description to the meta tags?

I kinda had the same question. So i decided to just get rid of the Short Description part from my Prestashop Template, maybe that would be a good solution for you too?

Ecommerce websites can thrive on long tail traffic, so the more content you have that could include terms and phrases people are searching for, the more beneficial it is to your store. So I would recommend writing away and filling all those fields.
I just did some keyword research and found that the term "Audi A6 Rear Lamp Set" does not get many searches. So it seems you may be missing some professional keyword advice and onsite recommendations.
In terms of content, yes it can be quite frustrating when you have to write about certain subjects, but I bet if you asked an Audi enthusiast about Audi A6 Rear Lamp Sets he would have a lot to say for example:
"oh is that the one that uses the 12 volt multiplier instead of the 6 volt bypass, they are much more improved than the previous version because of x and y". – I’m no expert, that statement is simply a random example.
What type of bulbs, what type of model, does a new set benefit a car? If so why? or is it simply a replacement part for a certain model? There are many things to say, but as with all sales you need to be enthusiastic in your writing to encourage and answer any questions your customers will have.
SEO itself is often about demonstrating that one site is more of an expert resource than another, so the details matter I would say.

Client Portal and SEO Considerations?
Hi Moz and Moz fans, We are looking to add a client portal to the website. Basically, I haven't found too much on this with regard to SEO. The idea would be that certain parts of the website would be hidden under a pay wall and for subscribers, they would be able to see all content. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with that and what SEO considerations to take into account. One thing we are particularly concerned about is how Google will index the portions of the website behind the pay wall, if at all. Obviously, we would rather that they don't index it, so that people can't find a way to get to the info without paying. I would imagine it would have to do with the type of coding, however, I am not a coding guru, so I am not 100% on that. Anyway, anyone that has any experience in this kind of thing and can comment on this at all, any comment is welcome. Also, any documentation that could be helpful would be welcome too. Thanks

Best SEO-friendly CMS platform?
I have been tasked with rebuilding a small e-commerce website using a CMS, but I'm not sure which one has the most SEO compatibility. One SEO company recommended Squarespace. Another warned me against Squarespace because of its limited SEO features and instead recommended Wordpress with the WooCommerce toolkit. I've also heard Drupal and Joomla mentioned. Are certain CMS platforms more SEO-friendly? If so, what are the best ones that can also handle e-commerce? Thanks!

‘80-90% of SEO already done for you in Wordpress’ Am I missing something?
Hi there, I’m looking for some feedback on a statement made on my Facebook Page re Wordpress and SEO. Please understand I wouldn’t class myself as an expert but I am competent and achieve satisfactory results for clients, more so since becoming a SEOmoz Pro user, I’ve just had some great results for a client using SEOmoz guidelines in ‘On Page SEO Reports’ thank you very much! A comment however made on my FB page has got my interest…. “as you (kn)no(w) google loves WP and will get listed quicker as 80 to 90% of your SEO is already done” Does Wordpress (or Joomla for that matter mentioned in the same conversation) have some SEO advantages that Google loves as the poster would have me believe, can I save time and effort working in word press from an SEO point of view? I use the age old techniques of targeting key phrases and words and distributing them accordingly. Creating internal link structures with ‘key worded anchor text’ etc before embarking on any off page SEO. Do any of you vastly experienced (in comparison to me) SEO folk have any insight into what this statement refers to? I did not gather any references to SEO advantages in Wordpress or Joomla in the Enge and Fishkin et al book The Art of SEO, or any of the other books I’ve read, to develop my knowledge on SEO for the benefit of my clients and of course my pocket. What is the best information architecture for developing local seo pages?
I think I have a good handle on the external local seo factors such as citations but I'd like to determine the best IA layout for starting a new site or adding new content to a local site. I see lots of small sites with duplicate content pages for each town/area which I know is poor practice. I also see sites that have unique content for each of those pages but it seems like bad design practice, from a user perspective, to create so many pages just for the search engines. To the example... My remodeling company needs to have some top level pages on its site to help the customers learn about my product, call these "Kitchen Remodeling" and "Bathroom Remodeling" for our purposes. Should I build these pages to be helpful to the customer without worrying too much about the SEO for now and focus on subfolders for my immediate area which would target keywords like "Kitchen Remodeling Mytown"? Aside from my future site, which is not a priority, I would like to be equipped to advise on best practices for the website development in situations where I am involved at the beginning of the process rather than just making the local SEO fit after the fact. Multilingual Website. Best SEO Strategy

We have a client that will extend his business to severak countries in Europe.
So far its main market was the Spanish one. In this market it works with his own domain that is the same that its brand name. The domain does not contain any important keyword but it has been working for 11 years: www.efutgol.com. In Spain has a good ranking. It ranks number 1 or number 2, it fluctuates. But it also sells to France and Portugal. In the France market they used a domain with exact match with the French keyword that they are interested in: www.equipementsfootball.com/. The same strategy www.equipamentosfutebol.com in Portugal. Both have number 1 for the main keyword in those Countries for that keyword Now they are going to sell in more countries.
The problem is that each website have a different CMS what makes necessary double maintenance. We are going to unificate in only one domain, one single design, one single CMS all websites. But were have doubts about SEO consequences of doing that What is the best thing for URLs?
