Will Switching To a CMS System Help Rankings

I would like to transform our 400 page website to a CMS system. We rank failrly well for most of our keywords and not so much for others. Our website is currently optimized with lots of unique content, but we need to transform to a more professional website with lots of options. Will doing this transformation affect our rankings if Redirects are correct ? Any recommedations for a Easy CMS that is very SEO Friendly?

The site I have seen the most for WP templates is: http://themeforest.net/
I have no personal experience with the site so I cannot comment further. There are plenty of sites which offer designs if you are unhappy with that site. They seem expensive to me, but they have a ton of designs and several look exceptionally nice.

Thank You. Great Articles. Any recommendations on where to purchase WP Templates for a Non Blogging Site. We sell products, and do not want the blog look. I found some but they have you sign up for a membership. I am willing to pay for the design.

I would recommend reading the below article. It is from 2008, but still very relevant to your decision on CMS selection.

Will doing this transformation affect our rankings if Redirects are correct ?
Anytime you add a redirect, a small amount (1-10%) of link value is lost. However, if the change means an improved site for your visitors, then your new design benefits should outweigh this effect.
Any recommedations for a Easy CMS that is very SEO Friendly?
WordPress is very popular and SEO friendly. A lot depends on how you want to present the content and your reasons for moving to a CMS.

Will Switching To a CMS System Help Rankings
It can, but the switch itself isn't what makes a difference.
Will your new CMS present your existing content in a better manner?
Do you have buried articles that a new CMS might position better making them easier to find?
Do you have SEO issues which the CMS is set up to resolve?
There are too many factors involved to offer a definitive answer.

Blogspot blog is subdomain, but domain is changing - How will this affect backlinks?
Hi Moz community, I appreciate the title is confusing, so let me explain. We use blogspot to host our blog. It's set up as a subdomain of our website. Let's call it: lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com Our website, in this example, is **lovelytraining.com ** We're migrating our website to a new domain: lovely.training We'll be redirecting everything on the primary website, so our link profile won't be lost. However, as the blog is hosted on blogspot, we'll lose links pointed to the blog. The blog would remain lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com - but our website would now be lovely.training The question is, has anyone migrated/redirected a blogspot blog in this way, to retain links? Secondly, is there another way we can tell Google that this is blog should be treated as a subdomain of our website? I'm sure I'm missing out something stupid, so don't go easy on me! Thanks all.

Log-in page ranking but not homepage
Our homepage is outranked by log-in page for "primary keyword" in Google search results; for which actually our homepage was optimised. I have gone through the other answers for the same question here. But I couldn't find them related with our website. We are not over optimised. We have link from top navigation menu of blog to our homepage. Does this causing this?

Do more links from sub-domains to domain (website) hurt rankings?
Hi all, If there are multiple sub-domains like abc.website.com, 123.website.com, etc...and if the top pages of website are linked from multiple sub-domains via top menu or footer links; will this hurts? Will too much interlinking of few top pages of a website from it's sub-domains dilute link juice? How many links ideally we can add to website from a sub-domain? Thanks

Does a Website Overlay Hurt Ranking?
We are looking into personalizing visits on our website. Rather than to write Tb of code on each page, we want to use a little line of Java script on the page, that would allow to place overlay on the site, depending on the visitor. Example: Change the home page picture when a returning visitor comes back on the website and show him/her a different picture bases upon the pages he/she visited prior. Would that overlay be caught by Google and would G have a problem with that? We all know about cloaking, but G does not penalize for heat mapping overlays, for example. Or not to my knowledge they don't. Thanks all for your personal insights! Peter

Does a loading homepage animation effect rankings?
Our website ( panphoenix dot com) has a Javascript animation when you load it for the first time which takes just over 2 seconds to load. Does having this animation effect rankings negatively? Would appreciate your thoughts! Thanks Rob

Is this causing me to drop in rank?
Today I noticed I was dropping (pretty big jump) for some keywords, so I checked out the source of a page, and noticed that my source code has two canonical urls. One to the home page, and one to the /page-title. I just changed themes recently, and the dropped happened after I changed themes. Is this what's causing me to drop in rank for certain terms?
