Tracking visits who entered the site via subdomain in GA
-
Hello,
Does anybody know how I can segment visits who entered my site via subdomain?
For example:
I want to know people who entered via subdomain.example.com/*****
and not include people who entered via www.example.com
Thanks in advance!

If you can identify specific landing pages that only exist on the subdomain, you can create a segment using the Landing Page field and setting the landing page URIs as the value. You can use RegEx if you have multiple landing pages and can do some pattern matching.

Thanks for your reply - I don't think I've phrased my question correctly.
I'll try to figure it out and ask again once I have a clearer question

Elias,
You should be able to accomplish this by just typing the sub-domain in the "filter" box on the GA "Traffic Sources" tab.
I just tried this and it works with "answers.yahoo.com" as opposed to "yahoo.com"
I apologize if I am missing something, please let me know.

Huge Analytics discrepancy when I turned off Analytics Module & Turned on GA via GTM
Hello, I was running universal GA via a GA Drupal module. We setup Google Tag Manager and setup a GA tag to run through GTM. When we pushed the GTM container live our Real Time was at around 1900 and when we turned off the Drupal module the Real Time was reporting around 1100. After 24 hours the sessions for that day were about 100k lower than what they usually are. Any ideas Why the larger discrepancy? Any places that are obvious to look? *I didn't setup the original Drupal GA module, nor do I know who did. Thanks

My domain as a sufix on GA reports
Hi, There's a friend of mine who asked me with some weird results on her sites' Google Analytics reports (http://esther-roche.es). I've searched the GA code and its GA account config and I've no clue about where this esther-roche.es is to remove it. Any idea? Thanks in advance, BzgPcAo.jpg

Google Webmaster Tools During GA Transition?
I'm working with a client that is launching a new website. Google Webmaster Tools can just be disconnected, then reconnected to the new Google Analytics property, correct? Without any data loss in Webmaster Tools? Thanks! Becky

Analytics - Video Tracking
Hello, As i've ended up confusing myself, I thought I would ask the moz community whether i'm on the correct track! I'm wanting full GA tracking on individual videos from our destination URL. In short I need the name of each video to have specific tracking. Example;
Reporting & Analytics | | Whittie
Video 1 (Apples)
Video 2 (Oranges)
Video 3 (Pears) We need to be able to see the amount of plays per session, per video. As well as any extras if possible, such as;
Watched 25%, watched 50%, watched 75%, video complete, video paused. If the following script is used; https://github.com/sanderheilbron/vimeo.ga.js As well as using the Google URL builder (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en-GB) , what would be the best way to set each video to see the statistics within Google Analytics, so I can see how many plays the 'Apples' video has had. I think it is the ordering of the 'event, campaign, label etc' which has confused me. Many Thanks for any replies in advance, I appreciate it.0 -
GA stopped tracking traffic, suddenly, why¿? :-/
2 days ago GA stopped receiving data. It only stopped for one account of all my projects. At this moment there are 5 persons navigating the site and these days there where numerous visitors as they contacted the support team thru the site. GA says that it's receiving the code, hw, I checked it twice. The tracking code is located below the footer, in the body. It was there for few years.... I also checked if there is some js conflict, negative. Is there something that could make the tracking to stop? Does anybody experienced similar problems¿? Should I be worried...¿? (and with SEOmoz server with issues not sure when will see new results.......) EDIT: In Web Master Tools I see results for indexing, with yesterday date, so I assume that the site crawling is ok and must be GA issue.

Subdomain and relative link paths cause crawl errors
I have a Wordpress blog on our subdomain and we use relative paths on our domain. It appears as though Google bot is crawling from the subdomain categories back to the domain relative paths. This of course results in hundreds of 404 pages. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue without changing the relative path structure of our domain? I can provide more information if need be. While I realize these issues are not that pressing, I'd obviously like to remove as many errors as possible. If anyone has encountered this problem, especially in Wordpress I'd really like to hear your solution or lack there of. Thank you in advance.

How are 301s reported in GA?
Does anyone have any insight on exactly how on-site 301s are reported in Google Analytics? My direct traffic seems to climb at the same rate as my organic with absolutely no off-line promotion. I have a suspicion that the 301s that I have built to re-coupe traffic being sent to old pages are being reported as direct. Any validity to this?
