Same IP for sites & linkbuilding - negative signal for search engines?
-
Let's say you have 40 websites which share the same IP and you place links to them on a bunch of sites (directories, blogs), albeit on different pages on these sites.
Will search engines (google) see that they use the same IP and start having the links not-pass link juice based on that same IP?
-
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I am using amazon cloud server for some sites, I'll have to look at some creative solutions to get them on different IP blocks or IP's altogether.

It's highly unlikely you'd get problems from it but it's not going to get you much in terms of link juice either. It will some, just not loads... if you make sure you've got a whole bunch of links from other places too then it won't matter
Where I work, we provide hosting as well as SEO and there's quite a few sites all on the same C block that have footer links to us. They do pass some link juice, but they'd do better for us if they were hosted in other places.
There is a solution though. Funnily enough I only just found out myself today (from a Distilled Link Love seminar vid). There's hosting sites that can offer you webspace with different IP blocks and whole different locations.
A couple are: http://www.aseohosting.com/ and http://www.biggest-hosting.com/seo_hosting.html among others.

It's not a good idea to manipulate your link profile with links that are all on the same server. While this might give you some benefit in the short term, Google understands quite a lot about linking and will most likely catch on. If you have taken the time and investment to build 40 quality websites, why risk getting them banned or devalued?
Google would be stupid to allow this kind of linking. Google is not stupid. I would recommend linking your sites together only where strictly relevant, or else use rel=nofollow. I think that's about as clear an answer as it is possible to give.

Spammy links redirecting to homepage of site -
Hey guys, I'm auditing a website at the moment and Moz is showing a few spammy links linking to it. The problem is these domains are all 301 redirecting to the domain I'm auditing. Let's say I'm auditing Site A. Site B is been flagged in Moz OSE with 12 spam flags. When I try to open Site B in a browser, it redirects back to Site A. What's the best thing to do, here? Disavowing domains redirecting to the site is surely a bad idea? Cheers.

Press Release Sites
I don't do that many press releases, but I need to do one soon. I had been using PRweb.com and I see they raised their prices. Are they considered the best online PR site or are there sites people have used that have gotten similar results for less money?? Thanks

Linkbuilding actions?
Hi there! My cliente has a website about a kitesurf camp and I'm trying to do the linkbuilding strategy. Some actions that I've carry out: Looking for forums in which people talk about this issue and the services, trips and products the companies offer. The strategy of the company is to focus on the french, english and german market although its main market is in Spain. Are there any risks if we participate in out-of-spain forums? I mean regarding SEO. Should we benefit more from the spanish market in terms of SEO Looking for websites that are willing to put or exchange a link in its site in order to gain more visibility (on our behalf). I guess this action is complicated. I doesn't depend on us. Looking for well known directories in which I can anounce the services of this company. I've posted here about this before. Some tell me that is ok but doeesn't have enough relevancy to be present in the directories. Looking for blogs of the "industry" that give us some insght and try to make any comment on them with a link to our site (if permitted and are followed link). We don't have the enough background in this issue to write a post on a blog or have our own blog to generate enough, freesh and up-to-date content about this topic. I guess I'm missing something. Any suggestion about how could I lead the linkbuild strategy? Thanks in advanced.

Links from flash site completely useless?
From a link building perspective, is a link from a site that's completely flash any good? Can google crawl flash sites at all, or it a waste of time trying to get a link from a flash site?

What is the Best Way to Site Structure My New Content?
I am about to start adding some serious content to my site in hopes of providing more info to my visitors and to build organic traffic. I am looking for the best structure and places to put my inbound links. My website is tradethink.com and we specialize in trading systems for the commodities markets. I am going to be adding content about the particular commodities markets we follow; gold, soybeans, crude oil, etc. From my research I see it is best to place as many inbound links as possible to the content pages. On the other hand I see that it is important for the site to be user friendly and not have to much link clutter on the home page. I have a few options. Lets use "gold trading" instance. 1. Have individual links on the home page and most other internal pages that link directly to tradethink.com/gold-trading.html (lots of link clutter, but best SEO?). Problem is that I am doing this for like thirty pages and would have an additional thirty links on all of my pages. A possible work around is to place these individual links at the bottom of my pages. 2. Have home page and other internal pages link to tradethink.com/trading/ (just 1 link to add to each page), with the individual link still going to tradethink.com/gold-trading.html. Here I am adding a folder "/trading/" to place all of the links in, but when you click on the link inside the trading folder it goes to tradethink.com/gold-trading.html and bypasses the /trading/ folder to get better SEO, shorter url? 3. Have home page and other internal pages link to /trading/, with the individual link going to /trading /gold-trading.html This seems the proper way, but am I giving up link juice by going to trading/gold-trading.html vs #2 above going direct to /gold-trading Any advise/questions appreciated.

Domain position on site:domain.com search
Hi, After the last week Google algotithm update, my web site index appears on 4th position when I search for site:www.domain.com If I make a simple search for domain or domain.com it ranks on first position. Is this a sign of a penalty ? What would be the cause ? Thanks
