Semantic Web and Schema
-
Is anyone from SEOmoz planning on writing anything about the Semantic Web and Schema and how they see it impacting SEO?
-
Hi Donnie,
Thanks for your reply. The links are great. However, I was hoping that Rand would provide his perspective in a blog or weekly whitepaper.

Issues with getting a web page indexed
Hello friends, I am finding it difficult to get the following page indexed on search: http://www.niyati.sg/mobile-app-cost.htm It was uploaded over two weeks back. For indexing and trouble shooting, we have already done the following activities: The page is hyperlinked from the site's inner pages and few external websites and Google+ Submitted to Google (through the Submit URL option) Used the 'Fetch and Render' and 'Submit to index' options on Search Console (WMT) Added the URL on both HTML and XML Sitemaps Checked for any crawl errors or Google penalty (page and site level) on Search Console Checked Meta tags, Robots.txt and .htaccess files for any blocking Any idea what may have gone wrong? Thanks in advance!

Schema markup for products is missing "price": Is this bad?
Hey guys, So a current client of mine has an e-commerce shop with a few hundred products. They purposely choose to keep the prices off of their website, which is causing errors in Google Webmaster Tools. Basically the error shows: Error: Structured Data > Product (markup: schema.org) Error type: missing price 208 items with error Is this a huge deal? Or are we allowed to have non-numerical prices for schema ie. "call for quote"

Recommended Web Hosting Companies
Some of you might have seen that I recently discovered that another was mirroring my website(petmedicalcenter.com). Found out that this domain (justinchina.co.uk) was previously hosted on Host Monster and when we upgraded to a dedicated IP this last year we got that same IP address. Unfortunately, the justinchina.co.uk domain from GoDaddy is still pointing to our server/IP. Thus the mirrored site. This has been a huge headache and a loss in rankings has made this even more frustrating. Instead of giving me a new IP address, Host Monster said to just add this to my htaccesss file: RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} justinchina.co.uk
RewriteRule .* - [F] I waited 24 hours, submitted two support tickets, and talked to 4 tech support people and this is the solution I receive when they should have given me a new IP. I think it is time to switch. Any good host recommendations?0 -
$360 charged to embed 2 youtube video clips on web page with CMS system - Realistic?
Hi All, I have just had a bill from our webmaster / SEO provider for 3 hours work to embed two youtube video clips on to one page of our site (http://www.compoundsecurity.co.uk/raidervision-visual-verification-module-use-rdas-and-vx-gprs-wireless-security-systems) Now i am not an HTML programmer, but i have the ability to insert HTML code in to our eBay pages to embed videos where i want them on a page and it takes less than a minute. Would love to get feedback from several people on how long this should have taken. Is it really anywhere near 3 hours work. Everything else on the page was already there. If it means anything, the site is done in Apach Cheers

Schema.org implementation for physician's office vs physician herself?
Hi, Regarding schema.org microdata, which page(s) should have the microdata? 1) http://schema.org/Physician -- appears to be about the office. Since we have all of the contact/address info in the footer on each page, should we do the same with microdata? I can't seem to find a suggested implementation on schema.org Assuming an office has multiple MDs, how should the docs be listed since the physician schema appears to be for the office, not for the individual doctors? Thanks for any insight!

Mobile header and Schema Tags
We have recently made a website I work on responsive. This involved taking their original desktop site and then making it work on mobiles/tablets. Due to the nature of their existing header we are serving a different version to mobiles/tablets. Do the schema tags which are on the desktop header need to be added to the mobile version or are they just needed on the desktop code?
