Google International and National Algorithm
-
Hi guys,
I have a question. Do you have an experience about google national and international ranking algorithm. For example, is the same algorithm for " Google.de " Germany, and " Google.com "???
For example, lot of tactics, are valid and effective on google.de and not effective on google.com, tell us about this .
Do you have any idea?
Share your skills please! we need your help!

Hi,
Algos do change around the world, different things can be seen in different markets.
For example Google will favour .com.au domains in the Australian market because it is country specific TLD's.
Sure you can GEO target the domain via webmaster tools yet it will not be as powerful.
Also country specific links will work in your favour and copy which meets the users language for your area.
Do some TLD's have more spamy things going on? Yes I agree some areas we see that .com market Google has really been fixing it up for a long time other markets are a bit slower to move, yet with all the recent changes to the algo like Panda we are seeing all TLD's come together in a more combined sense.
Hope this helps.

Legitimate link building can always offer value. All the standard link building metrics apply. What is the DA/PA of the linking site, is the site relevant to yours, what is the anchor text, etc.
If your site sells artwork, clearly anyone in the world might appreciate and buy from your site. If instead you offer local plumbing services, then a link from another country shouldn't hold as much value.
There are over 200 factors evaluated to determine a page's ranking in search results. PA and DA are two factors. What about the content and the other factors?

Hi Ryan, thanks for your answer.
I mean, on the google.de are more spammy results on serp, like on google.com
i am trying lot of keywords, lot of domains with a low DA and PA forexample both: 40/100 are ranking higher than PA and DA with 60 or 70/100.
Than, exchange links, spammy directory, so things are working well.
But what do you thing Ryan, about link building internationally, i take an example, you have the domain " Ryan.com" and you are writing in english right, and now you post an article about my company name in english language, and you place an hyperlink to my website, is this danger, or not?
I am interested to know more about internationally vs nationaly. For link building everything, if you have experience on this, tell me please.
thanks

The algorithms used for the various ccTLDs like Google.de are not the same as .com. For example, Panda has fully been implemented for .com.
I would highly advise adjusting any site that has been penalized or otherwise seen ranking issues in Google.com. The other Google updates will be updated eventually.

Are large property portals going to continue to dominate Google's search results?
We are having a discussion (potential argument) in our office around whether large portals (namely property portals) have longevity in Google's search. Argument 1:
Industry News | | NeilPursey
Google's rise in local search and rewarding strong brand names rather than keyword driven domain names will devalue property portals with keyword rich domain names. Property portals are essentially duplicating content on smaller individually owned property websites, therefore in time Google will devalue property portals. **Argument 2: **
Property portals have more property stock listed on their websites so therefore Google will reward them by ranking these websites higher than the smaller real estate agencies with niche stock in their areas that they operate in. The property portals that already are already in a dominate position already carry authority and their own sense of branding, therefore it's difficult for Google to ignore them. If we assume that Google is looking into user behaviour as a ranking factor, then this will help portals as they have more stock which means higher engagement on the website. I'd love to read the moz community thoughts and opinions on this. I reckon it's a worthy debate..0 -

Is Google Making Life Harder For Aggregators?
Theres been a bunch of updates recently which have hurt aggregators: Reducing the number of search results to 7 for branded search queries The DMCA update which penalises those with trademark related takedown requests against them. At least 2 'domain diversity' updates, the most recent last week, which seeks to reduce the ability of sites to dominate SERPS e.g. a site which may have 2 search results on page 1 now may have 1. Plus Its commonly believed that Google favours big brands over smaller brands e.g. Marriott over examplehotelaggregator.com. Is this a deliberate ploy against aggregators in favour of brands i.e. does Google believe a brand site is a better search result than an aggregator? A brand site returned above an aggregator for a branded term may be seen by Google as a better fit, a better search result that should be higher. But is that true? Consumers like to see unbiased reviews and lowest prices and that isnt always available at the brand site. Thoughts please.

More context: goo.gl/huekfHas anyone been affected yet ....I seem to see a jump in some newer sites less than 3 months old already for some rankings - I don't like seeing rankings that quick!Do you see anything?

Is Google experimenting with something new or there is some problem in my browser. I checked it in Firefox but at the same time when i checked it on IE, normal page was visible. Regards photostream
