How would you set up campaigns?
-
Hi Guy's,
I have a question about campaigns,
We run a eCommerce website with several categories with sub cats/ i.e.
natural hair care
Natural Shampoo
Natural Conditioner
Natural Treatments
natural Skin Care
etc etc
My question is this... do you use campaigns to separate the sites sections up? or do you run one campaign, trying to get my head around the best way to target my sections for performance/keywords etc...
Thanks
Daniel

It is certainly a long process, my friend. The best advice anybody can give you is to keep your nose to the grindstone, create incredible content, and figure out creative ways to get links from the most authoritative websites in your niche.

Thanks for the Answer, that's what I thought
that's fine then just wanted to make sure I was on the right track
my site is so new it's hard to know what's working and what's not! the only keywords I have in the top 50 are for my domain! just have to sit tight I guess
Thanks
Daniel

Ah, gotcha. Personally, I only have one campaign per client I work on. I don't have multiple SEOmoz campaigns to focus on different keywords for one website. I suppose you could organize it that way if you want to, but I think most of us have multiple clients or are working on multiple websites, so our slots are very precious.

Thanks for the reply, my question was related to "how to set up campaigns in SEOMOZ"
you say do the whole site optimization stage first, that's kind of what I am doing.
Thanks
Daniel

I'm a bit iffy on how to answer this, because your question sort of seems like you are talking about PPC campaigns, but the question is posted under Technical SEO. If you're talking about PPC, these would certainly all have their own Ad Groups.
If you're talking about SEO, on the other hand, things are a bit different. The way people typically organize their SEO tactics is to do the whole on-site optimization stage first and foremost. After that, specific link building campaigns would be run for a number of different high-value keywords.

Should I set blog category/tag pages as "noindex"? If so, how do I prevent "meta noindex" Moz crawl errors for those pages?
From what I can tell, SEO experts recommend setting blog category and tag pages (ie. "http://site.com/blog/tag/some-product") as "noindex, follow" in order to keep the page quality of indexable pages high. However, I just received a slew of critical crawl warnings from Moz for having these pages set to "noindex." Should the pages be indexed? If not, why am I receiving critical crawl warnings from Moz and how do I prevent this?

Multiple Sites/Internal Pages Campaign
Can MOZ do reports/ranks/campaigns separately for each of our sites, then do separate keyword campaigns for specific internal content pages of each of the websites? For a law firm with both a defense and family law sites. We have multiple pages within each site, we will need to do separate and individual campaigns for assault, burglary, traffic tickets, ect. in our defense site. And we'll need other specific campaigns for other specific content in out family law site. Will Moz be able to accommodate our needs with their $99/mo plan or is that service only available for higher packages? (or is it even possible in ANY of their packages???) Thanks.

SEOmoz Campaign Setup: What would you do?
I've been using moz for nearly a year now. Initially when I set up our site (rac.com.au) it was as a single campaign for the rac.com.au domain. However, our business has a number of different product offerings and marketing teams (Insurance, finance, travel/tourism, automotive, security etc) - would I be better off setting each of these 'sub' brands as a campaign on their own using the 'folder' campaign setup? For example, have a campaign setup for the Insurance business (rac.com.au/insurance) folder, Finance business (rac.com.au/finance) and so forth? The advantage I see to the folder campaign setup is more specific reporting for each of the business units. Are there disadvantages to this? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ryan

Settings to crawl entire site
Not sure what happened but I started a third campaign yesterday and only 1 pages was crawled, The other two campaigns has 472 and 10K respectively. What is the proper setting to choose in the beginning of campaign setup to have the entire site crawled. Not sure what I did different and I must be reading the instructions incorrectly. Thanks, Don
