Keyword vs Brand Domain Name

Hi guys,
I'm about to launch a new site for a friend who is an accountant in a specialist field. He's already bought 2 domains:
**www.[keyword]-accountants.net **
**www.[brand]accountants.com **
We have made the decision to use the brand domain to host the site but what can we do with the keyword domain as exact match domains still seem to be ranking well in the serps?
e.g. build keyword links to the keyword domain (heavily seo'd content) and build brand links to the brand domain (conversion-optimised content) then after while 301 the keyword domain?
Any new suggestions will be gratefully received!

I wouldn't spend too much time on the second (hyphenated keyword) domain, you'd be much better off focusing on building great links to your primary domain.
Also, domains with hyphens are signifcantly less effective than the exact match variation, I have conducted a number of experiments and the non-hyphenated versions of the website are much, much better! So I would just redirect it as it is and focus on the one main website URL.

If your keyword website ends up getting to an appreciable size, you will have to try and buy the unhyphenated version of www.keyword-accountants.net
Whoever owns that, assuming it's parked, may hold you to ransom for a very high price. My company is in just that situation now (the thread I recently started on this may be of use to you: http://www.seomoz.org/q/close-url-owned-by-competitors). So just keep in mind that if you want optimal SEO, the need to get the unhyphenated version will become more, not less, pressing over time.
Keep in mind that if you're sending a bunch of links to your keyword domain, those are going to be worth a lot less than if you send them all to your branded domain. Generally speaking, splitting your SEO efforts between two sites for the same company is a bad idea.
Daniel's suggestion would be the best, in my opinion, if you're dead set on using the keyword site to host content. Really, though, you'd be a lot better off putting that content in a subfolder of your the branded site and 301 the keyword domain (again as Daniel suggests).

Building up the keyword domain looks like the way to go as Google seems to favour these.

You could 301 the keyword domain.
Another option is to build up the keyword domain as a popular informational site. Then send referrals and link to your brand site.

To Optimize Brand Name or Product Name First on Product Pages for E-Commerce Website?
We are using your free month trial for optimization of our E-Commerce website. In regards to individual product pages such as this one http://www.amgair.com/air-purifiers/iqair-healthpro-plus-air-purifier/, would it be more effective to have the page title start with the brand name and then the product (as we have it now) or forgo the brand name and start with just the product. IE: IQAir Healthpro Plus Air Purifier or HealthPro Plus Air Purifier by IQAir. These are commodity type products and are price restricted so all competitive websites advertise at the same pricing and it would be helpful not only to have a keyword phrase that is searched for a lot but also one that is easy to rank for. Please give me a recommendation when possible.

Hyphens in Domain Name
I have a client who is a business broker. I have just begun working with them, and they are trying to determine the best domain name to use - they have several. business-broker-alabama.com vs businessbrokeralabama.com Which one of these has more value? I know that search engines have somewhat devalued keywords. The first one probably has a little more SEO value, but is going to be a drag in terms of marketing -- saying "business hyphen broker hyphen alabama" is going to get old for them. Thanks!

Keywords Qty per page.
I have a website http://www.versaillesdentalclinic.com with 20 pages in Total, but i need it to be on the top page of Google by 65 keywords and may be more. How many keywords per page shall I use? Currently I am promoting around 12 keywords high competitive for main page? Is it ok? I will appreciate a good answer 😉 Thanks, Russel

Alt attributes same as jpg name and keywords?
Hi everyone, Quick question: Is it better to have your jpg name and alt text slightly different to your keywords for that particular page, or is it better to have them slightly differently? Apostrophes in keywords
It appears that SEOmoz tools like the On-Page Report Card treat keywords differently if they have apostrophes in. So for example childrens and children's are treated as different keywords. Is this a quirk of the On-Page Report Card or does Google treat them as separate keywords?

Title Keyword Question
I'm writing up keywords for new pages on a website. There are a number of variations on the way we can say what we're looking for, and I don't want to post the specific keywords but I'll give an example using fruits. Let's say I want to optimize for Granny Smith apples, McIntosh apples, Jonathan apples, etc. Could my title be Apples - Granny Smith, McIntosh, Jonathan and my page will come up when someone searchs "Granny Smith apples" or "McIntosh apples" etc. or do the words have to be repeated in order. Obviously I will also be repeating these in the description and on the page I'm optimizing. Thanks!
