Hi,

I have performed a search on a root domain and the page auth is higher then the domain auth?

I would have thought they would have been the same or at least the other way around!

If a large site had a strong link profile for one page and then thousands of pages with no links or low value links then that one page may be worthy of a high authority rating but the domain as a whole probably wouldn't.

Question #3) My last question has to do with Some SEOmoz crawl diagnostics -

I recently fixed (or well, I am asking to make sure that this was the right thing to do in my first question posted a few minutes ago), a problem where all of my internal main sidebar category pages were linking using https://, which to my knowledge means SECURE pages. anyways, OSE, and google seem to be not recognizing the link juice. but my rank fell for one of my main keywords by 2 positions about a week after i made the fix to have the pages be indexable. Making my pages properly linked can't be a bad thing right? That's what I said. So I looked deeper, and my crawl diagnostics reports showed a MASSIVE reduction in warnings (about 3,000 301 redirects were removed by changing the https:// to http:// because all the secure pages were re-directing to http:// regular structure) and an INCREASE, in Duplicate Page Titles, and Temporary redirects... Could that have been the reason the rank dropped? I think I am going to fix all the Duplicate Page Title problems tonight, but still, I am a little confused as to why such a major fix didn't help and appeared to hurt me. I feel like it hurt the rank, not because of what I did, but because what I did caused a few extra re-directs, and opened the doors for the search engine to discover more pages that had problems (which could have triggered an algo that says hey, these people have to much duplicate problems) Any thoughts will be GREATLY appreciated thumbed, thanked, and marked as best answers! How to change a Discussions post to a Question

I've opened two discussions recently but they really happen to be more like questions. How to track sub-directories as separate sites

I am tracking a blog for a client thats hosted on a subdomain, we decided to give it it's own SEOMoz campaign. My issue is that when entering competitors, if the competing blog is using a sub-directory, SEO Moz won't let me enter it, only the domain. I would assume that there has to be a way to do this, but I don't see it. I need to be able to track the competing blogs as separate from their root domain. mysite: blog.mysite.com their site: theirsite.com/blog (very different from just theirsite.com) Hopefully someone can tell me what to do here because the metrics are basically useless if I am forced to use only the domain. How to Link build for our site

Hello, A client of mine has a site that gives advice to people. It's moderately competitive. It's a content site. Using Open Site explorer, I looked up competitor's top pages and backlinks, and there were things such as sites that were heavy on directories, sites heavily on editorial mension, sites on juicy topics that I don't want to cover, and the rest was pretty much junk. Just so that you know, I only link build with quality websites that look strong, long term, have a nice design, are high quality, and are not a directory (with a few exceptions) What's the standard way to link build with a site like this? We've got 7 articles of good content that is from me spending hours learning about the subject and using my skills as a life coach. Right now I'm just adding quality content and social media. I am not a top expert in the field, but I'm learning as much as possible. How do we link build?

Seomoz research tools question for inbound links

What is the best seomoz tool and or indicator within a tool for checking on a link (directory or article site) to evaluate whether or not you would actaully want a link from them? Any way to see if google penalizes them for there tactics or if that can hurt me by them linking to me or whatever? I am at the beginning of a link building mission, but want to ensure that I do it methodically and correctly as possible based on the combines wisdom of this community. Thanks for your help, Steven

Tool which shows site ranking for a given keyword

Hi all. I have a client with a specific request and wanted to ask if there is a reliable tool which allows a user to enter a given site and keyword, and it will return the site's ranking for that keyword. More specifically: Needs to work for Google, Yahoo and Bing Needs to work for various countries such as Google.ca, Google.it, etc. Needs to show at least the top ?10k rankings, not just the top 50 The last requirement is the challenge. I clearly recognize anything past the top 50 or so ranks is really off the map, but the client would like to view his current standings.
