Date in the video search results

How to control date display in the Google video SERP?
Even if pages don't have dates in it, Google displays dates for some results.
Try with this:
Search query: Thanks video
- Check the third result.
Thanks.
-
I'm not sure about this, if you will embed a YouTube video you would say they would be able to determine to the publication date because Google ownes the data. You could give it a try by testing.

Thanks for your answer.
So if this tag is not provided, can we expect that Google will not display the date?
Thanks.

Hi,
Videos are included for sites within the SERPs by submitting a video SItemap to Google. Within the sitemap you have the possibility to add the tag: video:publication_date, this tag will provide Google with the data for the date you'll find in the SERPs.</video:publication_date>
video:publication_date2007-11-05T19:20:30+08:00</video:publication_date>
More information on how to use this and what kind of formats for this tag/ video sitemap could be found here.

Australian search - ZERO visibility and stumped
Fair warning, this is going to be long, but necessary to explain the situation and what has been done. I will take ANY suggestions, even if I have tried them already. We have a sister site in Australia, targeting Australian traffic. I have inherited what seems to be an incredible rat's nest. I've fixed over two dozen issues, but still haven't seemed to address the root cause. NOTE: Core landing pages have weak keyword targeting. I don't expect much here until I fix this. The main issues I'm trying to resolve first are with the unusual US-based targeting, and the inability of the homepage to rank for anything. The site is www[dot]castleford[dot]com[dot]au. Here's the rundown on what's going on: Problems: The site ranks for four times as many keywords in the US as it does in Australia. The site ranks for a grand total of 5 keywords on the first page for AU keywords. The homepage, while technically optimized on-page for "content marketing agency", and with content through MarketMuse, has historically ranked between 60-100, despite having a fairly strong DA with fairly weak competitors, based on AHREFs keyword difficulty, and Moz keyword difficulty. Oddly, the ranking has gone up to 5-7 for three day spurts over the past year. Infrequent indexing of homepage (used to be every 2-3 weeks, I've gotten that down to 1 week). Sequence of events: November 2017 - they made some changes to their URLs - some on the blog and some on the top nav LPs. Redirects seem okay. November 2017 - Substantial number of lost referring domains, not many seem to be quality. January 2018 - total number of AU ranking keywords more than halved. May/June 2018 - added a follow inbound link sitewide to an external site that they created. 20k inbound links with same anchor text to homepage. Site has a total of 24k inbound links. July-Sep 2018 - total number of US ranking keywords halved November 10 - I walked into this mess. What's been done: Reduced site load speed by over 150% (it was around 20 seconds). Create sitemap (100 entry batching) and submit to GSC. Improved MarketMuse score for the homepage. Changed language from "en-US" to "en-AU" Fetch and render - content is all crawlable and indexed properly. Changed site architecture for top nav core landing pages to establish clear hierarchy. All version of GSC created, non-www and www http, and non www https and www https Site crawl - normal amount of 404s, nothing stands out as substantial. http to https redirect okay. Robots.txt updated and okay. Checked GSC international targeting, confirmed AU. No manual links penalty I'm clearly stumped and could use some insights. Thanks to everyone in advance, if you can find time.

Search Console Errors 400 and 405
Hi, Does anyone know if search console errors showing as follows are damaging to serps: /xmlrpc.php is returning 405 error /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is returning 400 error These errors seem to of coincided almost to the day that there was a ranking drop for the primary keyword from mid page 1 to bottom of page 2. No matter what I do I cannot seem to correct these errors. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Google Results Title vs My Page Title
I'm having some trouble with my titles of a new site, it has been online for around two months now and i'm getting weird titles from most indexed pages. Since my site is focused on finding courses, the course title format is the following: URL: https://www.maseducacion.com/estudios/programacion-curricular--tecnigrap-2982

My Title: Course - Institute | Mybrand
Google Search Title: Course - Institute | Mybrand - Educativa Half of my results have that word at the end, don't know where it comes from, that word is only included in two links. Any idea on how to fix it?0 -
Can I use high ranking sites to push my competitors out of the first page of search results?
I'm looking at a bunch of long tail low traffic keywords that aren't difficult to rank for. As I was idly doing a boring task my mind wandered and I thought.... Why don't I ask lots of questions about these keywords on sites such as Moz, Quora, Reddit etc where the high DA will get them to rank for the search term? The results on a SEO site or Q&A site won't be relevant and so I'd starve my competitors of some of their leads. Of course I'm not sure the effort would be worth it but would it work? (and no, none of my long tail keywords are included in this post)

Blog posts outranked for Title a String searches in content...why?
Site Pages: When I wrap a page title, or a string of several words in quotes, and GG search, my client's page shows up first. My understanding is that this shows general health of site, and acknowledgement as the original source of the content. Blog Posts: When I wrap a blog page, or post, title or string of words in quotes, and GG search, Feedblitz, Facebook, and other scraper sites appear before the blog home page, and also the actual blog post. The blog is in a separate directory. Does this suggest that the /blog/ is being penalized or demoted in any way? Does it indicate the /blog/ directory does not have authority? Both the static site pages, and the blog pages, are using rel=canonical tags. What causes this, what does it indicate, and how can I fix it? Thanks,

Embed youtube / vimeo pro videos and noframes tag
Dear All, I read somewhere that the use of the <noframes>tag when embending videos using iframes could be seen as cloacking, because you are delivering something to the people, and something "different" to the search engines.</noframes> For compatibility with IOs devices, iframe is the way to go with youtube videos, also with vimeo, but so far, any of my videos has been indexed by google. So, in your experience, what advice would you give to embed videos using those services (youtube, vimeo pro)? Would google index them if you place the old embed code between the <iframe></iframe>tags, without using <noframes>? Would you say that, without the use of noframes, one is doing cloacking?</noframes> I want to get my videos indexed, but I do not want to be penalized by google. Technically the use of noframes could be taken as cloacking, but if the content of both videos is the same, then it is not. What do you think? Thanks for your help, Daniel

How long does it take for customized Google Site Search to show results from pdf files?
The site in question is http://www.ejmh.eu I am pretty unsatisfied with the results I am getting from the Site Search provided by Google. We have over 160 pdf files in this subfolder: http://www.ejmh.eu/mellekletek The files are the digital versions of articles. When I search for content in those pdf files, Google does not show results. It does show results from older pages, dating back 1-2 years but it is certainly not showing anything from pdf files that I have just put up 3 weeks ago. My questions: If I place a Google Search on a site, does it not automatically display results from ALL the content in the root domain? Is there any correlation between how the Site Search is indexing the files and how Google is indexing the urls in general? Should I just wait and see whether site search performance improves or should I switch to another Search software like Zoom Search? It is vital to have a proper, high-quality search functioning on that site in the very near future. What are your experiences? Any tips are greatly appreciated.
