Have you seen a correlation in between running a PPC campaing and increased SEO ranking for a new site (< 3 months old)?
-
I have read many conflicting articles on this topic. I understand that running a PPC campaign at a launch phase of a site can get a lot of insights such as exact traffic patterns etc. But the question is: is there a correlation or not with increased rankings position for new site as search engine are forced to crawled that given landing page to give your ad a score? Thanks in advance for your answers and opinion
-
In theory that's possible, but it's a bit of a stretch to call it a "correlation".
It's like spending $100,000 advertising on the side of every bus in your city. Chances are you'll get coverage and some of that coverage will be a link, but it's not to say that there's any causal relationship between advertising on buses and improving the rank of your website.
-
Thanks for your reply, but one could assume that if your CPC ads are getting 20% CTR and therefore get expose to a lot more people then you acquire links a lot faster and get higher page rank faster as well. Makes sense?
-
Official Google response is NO. PageRank has nothing to do with traffic it's all about links.

Our PPC UTM URLs Aren't Registering In GA Properly
Hi, We recently ran a few ads on Facebook and Reddit for a campaign of ours. Each of the URLs were properly attributed UTM links. Some of them register properly in campaigns, but the vast majority aren't. I can only find the attribution by checking All Traffic and displaying the landing page and the source/medium. Our Facebook Ad Manager reports MANY more clicks than our Campaign section in GA is for the campaign name. Here's the URL I receive for the landing page: /?url=http://www.ourwebsiteurl.com/our-landing-page?utm_source=facebook.com&dm_redirected=true Is Facebook writing over our UTM with their own so all I receive is that it came from Facebook? The URL we used was complete with utm_source, utm_campaign and utm_medium, yet these aren't fully reported. Any ideas?

Unexpected % of new visits from search traffic.
Hello Three days ago launched an AdWords campaign (text ad) designed to bring people to my site (www.quipeutlefaire.com). I've been tracking the visits using Google Analytics and I find that 67% of Paid Traffic visits are new visitors (see attached image). I find this very weird, I was expecting that people who come to my site through adwords to be completely new visitors (100% instead of 67%) . What's happening? are people using my ads as a sort of "bookmark" to come back to the site? Thank you for your help gsqMj.jpg

Does an AdWord campaign affect your rankings?
Say for instance you are in the business of "lawn mower repair," and you are ranking for that keyword. If you were doing an AdWord campaign on that keyword, would that also affect your organic rankings in the SERPs for that keyword?
