Open Site explorer (last 1-3 updates) shows new and wierd results

Hi Moz'ers! I have a questions for you guys. Can you explain why the website "Netspiren" has a lower "domain Authority" than "Duft og Natur"? See screenshot. I know it's a tough question without a detailed analysis, but looking at OSE's data, does the mozrank, moztrust, C-block don't reflect the power of the Domain Authority. What's you take? BTW: "Netspiren" has always had more and better links, and also had a higher Domain Authority. Something about the Domain Authority changed since the past 1-3 OXE updates. Looking forward for your take on this! Have a good weekend!

Hi Frederik,
Domain Authority is highly correlated with both mozRank and mozTrust, and includes factors from both of these metrics into the final Domain Authority score. Most of the time, a site with both superior Domain MozRank and superior MozTrust will also have a higher Domain Authority, but not all the time.
In this instance, I think we are seeing an edge case where Linkscape was reporting funny numbers. In the time since you posted your original question, not only Linkscape has been updated but the way Domain Authority metrics has also been updated for the first time in a couple years. The old Linkscape calculations were accidently including certain types of binary and junk files. If Duft og Natur had a large number of these types of files included in the Index, it could have certainly thrown the numbers off.
The end result is more accuracy today.
In fact, looks like Netspiren now scores a DA of 45, whereas Duft og Natur scores a 40. Nice!

Hi Yannick,
Thanks for your response.
I agree that such links build Domain Authority.
But great links from CNN etc. should also increase the moz-trust/rank... And Netspiren has a higher moz rank/trust. What I am wondering about, is the logic/correlation between: Mozrank/trust vs. Domain Authority. The screenshot shows that Netspiren.dk has more of any other metric, than the overall metric "domain Authority (And Total amount of links, which I don't take much into account). -
It's not only about sheer numbers. If you get a link from bbc.co.uk, theguardian, etc. etc. Those links are only from 2 root domains/C blocks, but will be very trustworthy/authoritive. So you have to look a bit further than just the numbers.
Followed links are of course giving more link juice than no-followed links (which give almost none or no link juice at all)

1 page crawled ... and other errors
1. Why is only one (1) page crawled every second time you crawl my site? 2. Why do your bot not obey the rules specified in the robots.txt? 3. Why does your site constantly loose connection to my facebook account/page? This means that when ever i want to compare performance i need to re-authorize, and therefor can not see any data until next time. Next time i also need to re-authorize ... 4. Why cant i add a competitor twitter account? What ever i type i get an "uh oh account cannot be tracked" - and if i randomly succeed, the account added never shows up with any data. It has been like this for ages. If have reported these issues over and over again. We are part of a large scandinavian company represented by Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The companies are also part of a larger worldwide company spreading across England, Ireland, Continental Europe and Northern Europe. I count at least 10 accounts on Seomoz.org We, the Northern Europe (4 accounts) are now reconsidering our membership at seomoz.org. We have recently expanded our efforts and established a SEO-community in the larger scale businees spanning all our countries. Also in this community we are now discussing the quality of your services. We'll be meeting next time at 27-28th of june in London. I hope i can bring some answers that clarify the problem we have seen here on seomoz.org. As i have written before: I love your setup and you tools - when they work. Regretebly, that is only occasionally the case!

Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide. Crawl Test produced only 1 page
Hi, I recently submitted a crawl for www.cirrato.com using SEOMoz Crawl Test Tool. I have a lot of pages, but the crawl result shows only 1 page, which is the front page and nothing else... Does anyone know what this could mean or what the problem is?

New Backlinks by Week?
One of my competitors has recently got a surge of links and I need to work out where they've been focusing their efforts to make sure I don't get left behind. The only method I've really got at the moment is looking at saved reports from OSE and trying to find new links between them. This is obviously time consuming and has some odd results (Old content showing up only on newer reports for example and have to ensure that each weeks report is generated exactly the same). What I really need is a weekly output of where 2 or 3 websites have been gaining links. Can anyone recommend any tools that can help me with this? Thanks

What kind of keyword difficulty should I be aiming for when launching an new site?
I know that words in their 20's or 30's would be ideal, but it's proving hard for me to find relevant keywords with such scores (just a couple with scores in the 30's). Is going for words between 40-50 a waste of time? Thanks.

I need a tool/tools to extract keywords from say 50 sites in one niche and then check the rank tor those sites
This is for telemarketing of seo services I want to have some insight into an industry before I call them could this be done with the adwords keyword tool api and then exported to excel. It would also be nice to have data on backlinks say from seo moz opensite explorer.. Its just that the research you do before you even call a potential client is so time consuming and you can never really check to see how they are ranking for there main keywords manually. We are trying to automate as much of this initial research as possible... Any Idea's Thanks
