Is There A Way To Automatically Ping Your New Content
-
Hi I believe that if you have wordpress then you can automatically ping your site with new content but I am using joomla and would like to know if you can do it with this type of site.
I write lots of articles each day and it takes time to keep ping each article so i am wondering if there is an easy way of doing it.
-
There is a field in the Dashboard of Word Press where you can place the URLs of services you want to ping and it will automatically do so when you update.
However, if you would like to do so manually and hit a list of different services, try Ping-o-Matic.

many thanks this is excellent, strange because i did search the extensions but must not have put in the correct search word, this will make my life a lot easier.
-
yes of course you can be looking modules for pinger try search on google.
-
Hi Diane,
Have you tried any of these? Joomla has an extension directory that lists several pinging extensions. Also, a Bing search on [joomla ping] turned up several useful results with detailed explanations.

What is the best way to show content in Listing Pages?
If it is e-commerce site and a product listing page there is always a conflict how to show the content? As per my understanding we can show content in two different ways. 1. To show little content and use **Read more. (**In this case there is a direct message to the google: Here is the content visible and rest content is hidden but available for visitors to read more 2. Can use** Scroll bar**. So here is the message to Google and visitors that my full content is available here. So just scroll down to read further. So I want to know that which method of showing content is best and it's impact of SEO where there is UI constraint or both the method is ok without any SEO impact. Please share your suggestions. Migrating domains from a domain that will have new content.
We have a new url. The old url is being taken over by someone else. Is it possible to still have a successful redirect/migration strategy if we are redirect from our old domain, which is now being used by someone else. I see a big mess, but I'm being told we can redirect all the links to our old content (which is now used by someone else) to our new url. Thoughts? craziness? insanity? Or I'm just not getting it:)

Content too buried in source code?
Our team is working on a refresh/redesign and am wondering if there's a quantifiable way of determining how high our meta data, H1 and paragraph should be in the source code. Or even whether I should be concerned with that. Our navigation will likely have dozens of links (we're going to keep it to under 100), and this doesn't even factor in the design elements. I am concerned about the content being buried. Are these the kind of concerns I should be having? Is there a measurable way to avoid it?
